RIP to an iconic actress who really came on later in life. What a career! I am sad she didn't make it to 100.

RIP Betty thank you for all the laughter

Hard to believe she is gone - and that her career dates back to the late 1940's!

I’m genuinely extremely saddened that Betty White has passed away. She was an incredible Lady who was extremely kind, incredibly funny, an amazing actress and performer and a wonderful human being. Betty did an incredible amount of work raising awareness and funds for animals suffering for decades.

It is very sad that Betty has just missed her 100th birthday which would have been on the 17th of January 2022. However I am glad she lived a long and happy life and it is incredible that her career spanned eight decades. It was really great to see Betty on the show Hot in Cleveland which aired from 2010 to 2015, she was so funny and the comedic timing she had in delivering the lines she had was amazing.

Betty was also incredibly funny on The Golden Girls. It was my Nana’s favourite show and I can remember it being shown on her tv for many years as I growing up. No matter how many times I had watched an episode I never got tired of seeing it again or stopped laughing at their lines Betty delivered playing the character Rose. All of the women in the cast of The Golden Girls were perfectly cast for the characters they played in the show. I can’t imagine any other actresses playing the characters they did.

I recently watched an interview on YouTube with the wonderful late Rue McClanahan (who played Blanche on The Golden Girls) and she said that Betty initially auditioned for the role of Blanche and Rue auditioned for the role of Rose. Rue said she found it very difficult to know how to act as Rose and Betty felt the same about acting like Blanche. She said they were both extremely relieved when the Producers of The Golden Girls realised Betty was meant to play Rose and Rue was meant to play Blanche.

Thank you Betty for all the laughs you gave to people all over the world for decades, for being a friend to all of the many animals you helped for many years and for being a friend to all of the fans of the shows and movies you starred in.

May Betty White Rest In Peace.

RIP to an American treasure.

Word has it St. Olaf is dimming all their Christmas lights in her honor, and I hear a petition has started to name her an honorary Butter Queen.

@USArmy

We are saddened by the passing of Betty White. Not only was she an amazing actress, she also served during WWII as a member of the American Women's Voluntary Services. A true legend on and off the screen.

Betty White and I share the same birthday and she’s always been a favorite of mine. On January 17th I’ll toast her with a glass of champagne, and thank her for all of the laughter she brought to so many.
