Wasn't it revealed pretty quickly though?

It might have been, but I wasn't aware of it until I read it here, which is the time frame I was referring to.

ETA: In these discussions, I don't recall comments regarding any disbelief of some of these women (without naming anyone specifically), yet apparently, there were some who had doubts about at least one of their stories. All I'm saying is, to me, that seems a bit disingenuous for the purposes of honest and frank discourse. IMO

I have a different recollection. I've read every post in these threads I think and several people said they thought some stories may be more credible than others.

Re: Chloe Goins again, it's interesting that LAPD said they weren't able to track down the friend who could put Goins and Cosby there together, yet Daily Mail apparently did talk to someone who says she did:

The MailOnline has interviewed the friend who was with Goins at the Playboy mansion that night and she has confirmed Goins' version of events.
The friend has asked not to be identified for this article. She said it was her who had invited Goins to the party in LA as her plus one.
The friend, who is a few years older than Goins and was also an aspiring model, recalled: 'I had been to the mansion before and I invited Chloe this time. Through my friends we were talking with Hef and that's when Bill Cosby came over.
'He got us drinks and we were talking away and that's when Chloe started to feel unwell.'
The friend says Hefner said he had a room which Goins could use to have a lie down. When she agreed to go to the room Cosby piped up and offered to show her where it was.
The friend said: 'Even though I've been there a few times I don't know the mansion very well, but Bill Cosby seemed like he did.
'He was being nice, he was very old, I thought he was taking care of her and Hef was good with it so I thought, 'wow, that's nice, he's a big celebrity and he's taking care of my friend'.
The friend says 45 minutes to an hour passed but she never thought for a second Goins was in danger.
'When she came back I knew there was something wrong, that's when I got her out of there and she told me what he did to her.
'I can't say what happened in that room, I wasn't there, but Chloe is a good friend.'
She added: 'I feel bad about the whole thing, I'm the one who took her there. I feel bad because I didn't take care of her that night.'

Dr. Thema Bryant-Davis is an associate Professor of Psychology at Pepperdine University and an ordained Minister in the AME Church.

Dr. Bryant-Davis feels a connection to the accusers as she writes :

"My experience as a licensed psychologist, former rape crisis counselor, and sexual assault survivor shaped the way I viewed the recent news coverage of Bill Cosby's case."

She continues : "I celebrate our survival, our healing, and our restoration. We are not the same as who we were before the assault but many of us have struggled hard to get back some of what was taken. Some survivors also talk about being empowered when the telling of their story encourages other survivors to break silence and shame and seek just outcomes as well."

The accusers have each said that they have felt empowered by telling their truth and that hearing other survivors encouraged them to speak up.

I read a similar accounting. I believe her name is Emerson. Wasn't she the one who said BC had never been anything but a perfect gentleman (similar words, IIRC)? I believe articles have said there is nothing showing either woman or BC at the party in question. And, the first name of the friend that Goins' gave to LE was then changed to another name when the first one was proven not to have been there? I may be remembering some of this incorrectly - please correct.

Maybe you can find the link about the names she gave to the police. I have no idea what Chloe Goins's friend's name is.

There was someone named Francesca Emerson who said Cosby had been a perfect gentleman to her, but she introduced Cosby to Victoria Valentino in 1970.
Francesca Emerson, a fellow Playboy bunny who befriended Valentino at the Playboy Club, sensed her despondency. Emerson, who is black, said she was one of the first “chocolate Bunnies” of the 1960s and had trained Valentino in her role as a “Bunny instructor.”

Emerson had a plan to lift Valentino’s spirits. “I want you to meet my friend, Bill Cosby,” she said.

Emerson and Cosby had hit it off at the Playboy Club. “He always gave me $100 tips, and he tried to get me to come down to the studio to read for his show, but I was always so nervous.”

After Emerson lost her job at the club in 1968, she said, a chauffeur arrived at her home and handed her an envelope. Inside was $1,000 and a note. “This is for you so you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. Love, Cos,” Emerson said it read.

“That’s the Bill Cosby I knew,” Emerson said. “He was a perfect gentleman.”

She said she introduced her “stunning” friend Valentino to Cosby in January 1970 at Cafe Figaro.

ETA: Reading that again I wonder if he'd have continued being a perfect gentleman if she agreed to come to the studio to read for his show and accepted a cappuccino.

From the article, "
Sexual assault often disempowers survivors and steals our voice and humanity...It is our right to be able to sleep through the night without nightmares. It is right for us to be able to connect with others and experience the sacred beauty of intimacy without the intrusive thoughts of violations. It is right for us to be able to laugh, let down our guard, and know that we are worthy of safety, protection, and respect. When we are able to regain these things, it is an act of justice."

Ms. Bryant-Davis articulates well justice for sexual assault/rape survivors, and how using voice for empowerment and healing. It is a very heart-felt and good article. Jmo/

Yes, Emerson introduced Valentino to BC and commented about him being a perfect gentleman. Thanks for the correction!

However, there were two different names of friends given to LE by Goins but I don't know if those names were ever made public.

Excerpt:

The investigator's efforts to interview the victim's friend who had accompanied her to the Playboy Mansion, as a potential
"fresh complaint" witness, were unsuccessful. Jane Doe #2 provided investigators information of that potential witness,
including an old cell phone number and a prior place of employment, located in San Diego County. Investigators located
and contacted, in San Diego County, a female who matched the identification information provided by Jane Doe The
potential witness acknowledged having previously worked at the location described by Jane Doe #2 and having previously
possessed a cell phone with the same number provided by Jane Doe The potential witness, however, denied knowing
Jane Doe#2 or having ever visited the Playboy Mansion. instead, the potential witness directed investigators to another
individual who also denied knowing Jane Doe.

WORCESTER, MASS.—Bill Cosby will not be deposed next month in a lawsuit accusing him of defaming seven women who accuse him of sexual assault, but his wife will be, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.

U.S. Magistrate Judge David Hennessy agreed to hold off on the comedian’s deposition, scheduled for Feb. 22, as Cosby now faces criminal charges in Pennsylvania. His wife, Camille, will instead be deposed that day, the judge said.

...
Hennessy on Wednesday also rejected a proposal by the comedian’s lawyers that would have kept a significant amount of material in the case out of the public eye.

Instead, he proposed more limited protections focused on certain sensitive information that might be disclosed in depositions, such as social security numbers, bank accounts and addresses. The order would not affect other materials and documents gathered in the pretrial discovery phase.

EXCLUSIVE: Bill Cosby's alleged victims create 'defense fund' to help model Beverly Johnson and other accusers he called LIARS pay for defamation lawsuits he's filed against them

Seven women currently suing Bill Cosby in federal court in Massachusetts, accusing the 78-year-old of defaming them in the press
Cosby called them all liars over the accusations of sexual assault so he countersued them for defamation
The fund, which is expected to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars, was started by several other of his alleged victims
A board, which will be decided on by the group, will determine how the money is fairly distributed
'Even if he can prove that one of us is lying that doesn't mean that the other 55 are,' a source tells Daily Mail Online

Ole Cosby made his 71 year old wife another victim. Jmo.

Now Camille told Cosby early on that if he does cheat for whatever reason. Then she doesn't want to hear about it.

But now at the age of 71. She is forced to testify in criminal and civil suits about whatever.

Now of course I blame hubby. But I also blame the legal system for forcing a 70 year old wife to testify in anything that she never agreed to. Jmo.

At a certain age. Most people are vulnerable in thinking due to many possibilities.

So if she has shown any signs of dementia. Then her testimony shouldn't count. Jmo.

Btw. They could have made Camille testify decades ago.

So why wait until she is 70 years old.

Now I do blame hubby. But I truly think that they should stop putting the old wife on the stand unless she was a co conspirator. Jmo

I guess that's the risk you run if you sell your soul to the devil, you may be asked to testify.

AIG had no reason to make her testify decades ago, they're just suing now.

Almost everyone I spoke to in advertising who has ever worked with Bill Cosby called him “a nasty man.” His demands for his dressing room were legendary, and included a case of Dom Pérignon, a cappuccino maker, and three boxes of illegal Cohiba cigars that each went for about $1,000 — and you had to get them through a “contact.”

“The kid hired to work with Cosby was an adorable five-year-old little African-American boy named Jules. And hours into the shoot, he was getting very tired. He was tired because Cosby kept flubbing his lines, and they had to do the scene over and over. The kid’s attention span was waning, and the director kept saying, ‘Okay, Jules, come on. Focus.’

“After a while, Cosby couldn’t take it. He took the bowl of pudding, picked it up, and pushed it right into Jules’ face. Bam. It was scary. The kid really started wailing.

Oh no - WTH?

Cosby sexual assault case in jeopardy after email surfaces showing prosecutor DID promise not to use crucial deposition in ANY criminal charges against the actor

Bill Cosby was charged December 30 with drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand inside his home near Philadelphia in 2004

It's the first criminal case brought against him after his sex scandal

Constand sued Cosby over the assault in 2005, which was settled

Then-District Attorney Bruce Castor made an agreement that, if Cosby testified, the deposition would never be used against him in a criminal case

The deposition is now being used against Cosby

In an email obtained by CNN, Castor explained to his successor last year how and why the agreement was formed

Cosby's lawyer says the criminal charges are illegal because of the deal

A judge will decide February 2 whether to dismiss the charges

From your link Donjeta. This is just awful:

"We had to carry him off while he was still crying, and clean him up backstage. His mother actually made him apologize to Cosby. I just kept wondering how damaged this kid would be when he grew up."

“No one said anything to Cosby. He was like a God. Everyone protected him. But I was mortified."

I am not worried yet about this e-mail from Castor.

It doesn't appear Cosby had an immunity deal in writing and prosecutors are allowed to lie to suspects in order to gain a confession or cause them to make a damaging statement against themselves. Some of the underhanded tactics LE are allowed to use against suspects should be illegal IMO.The current DA clearly states he was aware of Castor's verbal promise and there were procedures for immunity back in 2005 and they were not followed.

It will be interesting to see the ruling on weather his testimony from the deposition will be allowed.....but either way charges are going forward against him.

It will be much harder to get a conviction against Cosby without his own incriminating statements being allowed.Although I think he is guilty I still have serious doubts they will get a conviction no matter how strong the evidence is they present.

I live in PA and have to say our justice system is in total shambles.......corruption and misconduct at almost every level.....impeachment and criminal proceedings.....multiple resignations at different levels.....an AG still in office with a suspended law license.

A Cosby payout to someone to insure no charges being filed is a real possibility .....and the only explanation I have for an immunity deal not being done in writing. Why in the world would Cosby's lawyers not demand that agreement be put on paper?

Castor claiming the current DA may face personal liability for trying to do his job which is try and prosecute suspected criminals is highly suspect IMO....and makes this whole verbal agreement Castor had with Cosby seem very shady to me.

I am not normally part of the tin foil hat brigade but given the conduct of some of the current/past members of the PA justice system that has become public knowledge of late.....anything is possible.
