Just concurring here. The victim blaming here is rampant and sad. Just wow.

Which makes we wonder, If I was a Playboy Model and if any one of those slimeballs I mentioned above that roofied me was a rich celebrity, would people be blaming me too? The nerve!!

I hope those guys that threw our keys in the ocean get theirs via karma. And Mr. Cosby too, if he's guilty, which I think is likely, imo.

I've probably mentioned this early on in these threads, I'm amazed at how many WS members have been roofied. Ive come across many such posts here over the years. And other women I know out there have been roofied as well. Maybe it's a silent epidemic that some people do not talk about....I wonder how many roofie rapists are running around out there...if it's anything like the RSO maps...point is, Bill Cosby's case imo, if he is found guilty, will be a victorious feeling and symbol for those people like myself who have experienced such things.

Just because you are rich or famous does not mean you are a good person and everyone is out just trying to get your money based on lies.

During my 20s and 30s I dated a lot. Whenever I was "taking advantaged of" I took responsibility for the danger I put myself in. Of course those men never became rich and famous.

I have taken responsibility for the times I've made poor decisions, and that's exactly what they were, poor decisions. But one doesn't expect to be roofied by someone you know, trust or admire, in a comfortable sething such as your own home or a friend's home. And no matter how vulnerable a position someone might unknowingly put themselves in, he/she does not "deserve" to be victimized. That perp knows exaaaactly what they're doing when they plan and conspire to uninvitingly force themselves upon someone physically, incapacitating them physically and mentally to consent. There is absolutely noooooooooo justification for this whatsoever, moo.

There was a recent case, where John somethingsomething, an MMA fighter, beat his exgirlfriend, an adult performer, almost to death. this was some nasty sh... --- I followed his trial and it was usprising to see how both media and followers were prompt to point out she was a -star. As if that mattered at all. Google Christine Mackinday --- she was to this day the BEST witness I have seen in a DV case. Respect.

Women respond in all sorts of ways to being sexually assaulted.If you admire someone, they are incredibly wealthy, famous, and beloved, and you harbor feelings of self-blame because you trusted him, didn't resist enough, whatever . . . chances are you will internalize the whole thing instead of going to the authorities. Half the time women aren't believed even when they DO go to the authorities. When one women speaks up, others feel empowered to as well because there is a feeling of safety and power in numbers. The victim blaming and lack of understanding of what assault victims experience surrounding this case is honestly mind-boggling.

Very well said. The victim blaming in our society as it relates to sexual assault and domestic violence is so disheartening.

It reminds me of the Marshall project "An unbelievable story of rape." An 18 year old "Marie" reported a rape and was called a liar and ultimately charged for "lying." Years later a detective investigating a rape case in another state found a camera, which "Marie" reported stolen by her rapist. On the camera were photographs of "Marie" nude with a photo of her ID.

It is no surprise many rapes go unreported for years or forever. Skimming this thread is further proof of that.

I remember 40 years ago, if you were raped, pretty much, if you reported it, there was a stigma of shame and what did you do to get raped...

Our society hasn't changed much in the last 40 years. Welcome to the "rape culture".

Well? It's true. I'm not slamming women (I am one). But in my line of work I see it too often when women enable an abuser. They're thinking, "This is it, no more." But they continue to support them or take them back for a myriad of reasons. I see it on these threads even. Not the posters but the stories. Look at the recent Alexis Stubbs incident for example. Mom enables an abuser and he comes back home. Next thing we know twelve year old Alexis is dead from stab wounds.

Anyway I'm ready for the pitchforks but I think Cosby relishes his power and control over women. Camille needs help and support in recognizing she's codependent and enabling Cosby. Just MOO.

It's hard to help someone though who doesn't want it, I know that.

By the way I do know men enable as well. I saw this in my own life recently. I was renting a townhome from this couple for four years. Now the woman got a little greedy. She's one of those people who want to impress people they don't like with money they don't have. But it's her house so it's her right. The husband was willing to sell to me for a reasonable price but she goaded him for two months until he gave in. She said, "But my dear friend promised me she can get me 30k over price and sell in two days!" He told me, "I really want to be reasonable here but in the end I have to make my wife happy."

Long story short, I moved even more south and bought a place I love so it worked out. But for them? Their place has been on the market for almost a month and no bites.

Anyway my grandpa would call those men "pussy whipped." Perhaps Camille is like this and doing everything to keep Cosby happy. We really have no idea whats lurking in the shadows.

I can empathize with her up to the point where he admitted it. She stopped being a victim when she heard the tape of him admitting that he drugs women and dozens of women told the same story and she continued to defend him. She probably knows which side of the bread is buttered. MOO.

(O/T, just wanted to say after posting yesterday about my experiences, I couldn't get them out of my mind all day and all night and was feeling really bummed. There's not even brain bleach in the world...it was good though to acknowledge this and hopefully this was a positive step towards purging it.)
