MISTRIAL Bill Cosby -- Charged W/Aggravated Sexual Assault/Other Rape Allegations #5

I dunno, if it was just one mentally unstable woman I might buy she was getting second thoughts about her wild sexual history, maybe some religious pressures causing extreme anxiety and guilt about having sinned, and some kind of a mental breakdown or a defense mechanism turning that around in her mind as rape, but none of the women we've seen on video striked me that way.

It's such a recurrent pattern with Cosby and no other celeb who would have been having equally wild sex in the sixties and seventies has got 55 women saying he raped them, as far as I know, that it seems to me like it's easier to explain assuming that Cosby has something wrong with him (namely he is a raping sociopath) than assuming that coincidentally several women who had contact with Cosby have simultaneous weird memory problems.

There could be a couple who made it up but I think once it's been established that he probably did it once, twice, thrice... then he's already a serial rapist and I don't feel like I need to be looking for reasons to discredit women who say they were his victims.

BBM for focus and jumping off, not aimed at you, Donjeta.

Off the top of my head:

Warren Beatty, anyone?

Jack Nicholson?

Wilt Chamberlain claimed to have had sex with 20,000 women.

A rudimentary Google search produces no stories of rape accusations against them.

So weird then that Bill Cosby is the only famous horndog from those days--that I can think of, anyway--who has the misfortune of being accused 40 years after the fact of rape, when it might have actually been consensual and the women just aren't remembering properly or trying to accomplish, I don't know, what?

The majority of the accusers aren't seeking damages. So why are they lying--or more kindly, rewriting history? Because they've suddenly turned prudish and ashamed of their wild decades-old pasts?

Possibly but I also know it was a time of drugs and sex.. It was just different. I am not saying that it is not possible that women were not raped during this time, I am just saying I see a lot more variables during that time.
There are probably a lot of women who may regret their own behavior back then and look at it through today's eyes.

bolded for focus

So they regret their behavior so much that 40 years later they decide to falsely accuse someone of rape?

I don't know how old any of you guys are but it was a different time with different standards. Women were celebrating their sexual freedom and it was a crazier time.
I believe rape is rape.. I just wonder looking back if people remember things differently than they were?

I trust a woman would know whether or not she was raped, no matter what year it was. Women got raped in the 1960s and 1970s, and Cosby has raped 20+ since 1980. I don't think this is about misremembering or sexual freedom.

Finally, BC put himself out there as America's dad, and also as an outspoken moral scold, with his lectures about "pulling up your pants", on parenting, etc. His hypocrisy has damaged the Huxtable brand.

Anyway, for what it's worth, these are the differences I see between the MJ case and the BC situation.

I totally agree with your opinion. His "Pound Cake" speech at an NAACP event really angered both the white and black community. He does seem to have a propensity for blaming the victim.

Top 10 Absurd Reasons Why He Can't Have Done It

http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/waka-flocka-thinks-bill-cosby-has-been-framed-news.19433.html

Bill Cosby is famous and black so there must be a conspiracy. No black guys ever do anything, they all get framed. Also, someone's brothers died.

"Every time a famous minority make it they throw salt in the game."

Waka Flocka thinks all of Cosby's damning accusations are part of a huge conspiracy.

"they" being who exactly? White people? Why are there minority accusers?

Ms Pressley was not the only attorney by Mr Cosby’s side last Wednesday. Brian McMonagle, (below left) a well-known Philadelphia criminal lawyer, will be leading the legal defence. But Ms Pressley, (right) who for some months has been serving as the 78-year-old spokeswoman, will be tasked with something almost equally important – wining the battle of public opinion.

DEGGANS: I'm not saying the only reason, but it seems obvious that he used his tremendous public image to deflect questions about his behavior. And when he got to the point where that image was not able to deflect those questions anymore, people really began to pay attention to them. And the reason why the Hannibal Burress standup routine - this young black comic who called him out for being accused of rape - the reason why that's so important is because that was the voice of a younger generation who didn't grow up necessarily lauding - you know, lionizing Bill Cosby in the same way that people my age did.

HORNADAY: And if I may...

DEGGANS: They weren't as - he didn't have that sort of hallowed space in their pop-culture lives that he may have had in our generation. And they felt, I think, freer to be harsher and look at him and say what's really going on here in a way that people who wanted to believe the Bill Cosby legend had more trouble doing.

Although I have read all their stories, I don't recall which ones have alleged rape, but I thought it was far less than 20, or am I remembering incorrectly?

I am wondering what the Cosby legal team approach to the speediness of the trial will be.

Since losing his passport is the only real inconvenience and that deposition is pretty damning. Will they try and delay as long as possible?
The down side to this would be if even more victims come forward or worse would be if some of his former assistants/accountants or whoever comes forward with some testimony against him.

Or does the defense try and kick this trial in gear before his public sentiment sinks even lower then it already is.......will be interesting to see how they play it.

I must admit...

I am REALLY interested in hearing about Mrs. Cosby's (his business manager) day(s) in court!

You're right - some of them have been sexual assault. My mistake.

The link below provides some interesting reading if you have the time. Andrea Constand’s complaint and civil case against Cosby in 2005 and 2006 alleges the comedian had an accuser’s sexual assault story killed in exchange for an exclusive interview.

How Bill Cosby Allegedly Silenced His Accusers Through A Tabloid Smear Campaign

I have seen the 'cane' BC used walking into court. It is posted on many news sites. It is not a walking cane because of its thickness...to support any weight or balance. The cane is not a typical cane a blind or visually impaired person uses....those have red and white stripes to show they are special used by visually impaired.

What kind of a cane is this for? I did not see him using it for any thing in particular.

Any ideas?

Camille's camp is leaking news that she does not totally "stand by her man".

Bill Cosby’s furious wife Camille is 'livid and humiliated' by the disgraced comedian’s actions, a source has revealed.Cosby’s wife of more than 50 years was notably absent when the 78-year-old stumbled into a Pennsylvania court to face sexual assault charges on Wednesday.
She had dismissed the initial claims of sexual abuse against Cosby, but as the number of alleged victims continued to grow, Camille was ‘sickened’, a source close to the family told the New York Post.
‘My husband doesn’t deserve jail, but he does deserve every bit of the hell he’s going through now even though he is still pretending that this hell doesn’t exist,’ Camille said, according to another person close to the Cosby family.
The 71-year-old was reportedly well aware of her husband’s infidelities but only demanded that he be discreet so as not to embarrass her.

Actually, I was including alleged sexual assault in that number. I thought combined there was still way less than 20.

I am wondering if you are calling it a sexual assault only if penetration has occurred?

You can check the link below to try to tally up the violations, how many were penetrated, how many he merely digitally penetrated, how many he merely ejaculated on, how many he attempted to force copulation, and so on. For the women who have come forward, in one way or another, they experienced a violation at the hands of BC. It doesn't not have to be full-on penetration for the event to be monumentally traumatizing to the victim.

No, I'm not calling a sexual assault only when penetration has occurred. I have read each one's story and as I said above, that is the same link I read.

A corneal transplant is day surgery. There's no need to find a 'match' and we have man made corneas that work just as well if that were even the case. He wouldn't even need or get a general anesthetic. Same with cataract surgery. It's a pity ploy IMHO.
