Bill Cosby charged w/aggravated Sexual Assault/other Rape Allegations *conviction vacated* *civil trial 2022 guilty* #6

  • #601
Well, now, bless her heart. Mrs. Cosby forgot to mention that her husband actually admitted to drugging women. And having sex with them. That is hardly comparable to Emmett Till. Or a man who was INNOCENT of a crime he was convicted of...Mr. Cosby has had access to expert legal advice, he is well educated, and was hardly bullied into a confession.

He admitted to a criminal act. And he has been found guilty by a jury of his peers.

This just does not make me happy. It is sad all the way around.

More sad than anything else. Three - ten years is not nearly enough, IMVHO.

And even sadder is that I still like the Cosby show--but the pleasure of watching it has gone out the window.

They said he will be going to a maximum state prison which houses some of the most dangerous inmates in the state.

  • #605
I am sure at 81 he won't be in gen pop. I am sure he will be with other high profile people unless he is assessed to have medical needs or geriatric block.

He will probably be in solitary due to his fame and money. With lots of toys like phone. tv. computer.

According to TMZ he had vanilla pudding with his first meal. Waste of a good pudding I say.

Not so sure about the phone, but a small TV and a computer (without internet access) is pretty much standard as far as I know.

It is inexcusable his highly paid brace of attorneys did not spend $500-$1000 to have it forensically analyzed and pay the expert the vulgar amounts demanded to deposition him and then to testify.

The cost of having an evidentary hearing before the appellate court, if the issue is even preserved, would be huge with no guarantees.

Was the issue presented to the trail court and is part of the total record?

If not, and they didn't know this before, perhaps a Coram Nobis may be appropriate. If they knew, or should have known before then it probably wouldn't be allowed as surprise new evidence. I assume they had the recording for quite some time.

This was reported by NNPA newswire contribitor Stacy Brown. The report says an anonymous court official claims the tape recorded by Constand's mother was doctored.

What do you think?
EXCLUSIVE: Cosby recording could prove comedian innocent

If he is incarcerated in their new facility for the elderly and disabled, why would you think he would be in solitary?

Where did you read that? I read or heard, and forgot where although is was linked in this thread, he will eventually be housed at the new facility for elderly and disabled inmates. I can't begin to imagine any reason for a max security unit to waste a bed on him.

I am sad today over Bill Cosby's conviction and sentencing.
Not because I believe him to be innocent, but because he has ruined so many good memories and laughter for me and countless others.
As well as, all of his co-stars and writers that will lose their hard earned deserved residual income from his actions.
I really loved his show and his specials about family life.
It is such a loss of innocence for so many.
Do I believe he should go to prison and lose his rich comfortable life?
Absolutely, but I am still sad.
RIP Bill Cosby, your fake persona is now officially dead.

I don't think his highly priced attorneys did BC any favors. He should have taken any plea, settlement, and slunk away under a rock. I am sure something reasonable was offered, and the hubristic, narcissism of BC, who is in hard core denial, wouldn't consider it.

I would love to see the padding on the bill for Cosby. Every single second is billed. And over billed.

You said that all very well. I agree with you.

^^^ yes, they have geriatric prison wards. he will first undergo some medical testing and assessment of his 'needs', safety etc.

Probably will be in solitary confinement.....hope he rots. JMO

Well, we have Weinstein next.
As his case is taking years, he may also be a geriatric by the time he is in prison.
Hope they share a Cell, and can compare notes.:D:D

Have you read the original complaint in that case? Reading it made me sick as several went, knew what for, cashed those checks and then kept quiet not even letting their younger and naive sisters know what it was really about.

That made me very sad. Sure, he is pretty low, but he had no shortage of willing takers that kept their silence when their speaking up might have prevented many subsequent up and coming hollywood millionaires being "done" and made. At least they wouldn't have gone without knowing what they were walking into unlike many before them did go with that knowledge.

It just wasn't a secret among the guild and went on for so many years.

Read this and tell me if I'm completely off base.

Sooo you’re blaming the “willing takers” for the sexual assaults of unwilling takers, instead of blaming the creep responsible for his own actions aka the creep responsible for sexually assaulting women?

It may come as a shock to some, but you don’t HAVE to sexually assault others. You can be a decent human being like the majority of the world and keep your hands to yourself and not pressure or force someone into something.

Not so much blaming anyone but, you should read the suit. Plenty of these gals lost any respect I may have had for them for only coming forward 10 and 20 years later after cashing checks for millions and millions of dollars. If you are cynical, parts of the suit read like high dollar hookers decided years after the fact that what happened to them was wrong.

RICO has a 4 year and a 10 year statute depending on a few conditions and to toll the statute requires 2 predicate violations in that period of time.

I think a gal that went back and put out multiple times just to get another movie deal is what she is and that's not a victim.

Since the judge merged the sentences, therefore making ten years the max instead of thirty years, give him the ten. Let him see what life on the other side of being honored, living the good life, having every thing he wants on a silver platter is like.

Of course we know he will go to one of the cushy prisons. At least his freedom will be taken away for hopefully the rest of his life and he will suffer the humiliation, embarrassment, and downfall of the person he was. He made too many women suffer for years as he gloated around as as a top star!

This is a good start. Let's continue on to end corporate abuse of funds next along with the me too movement...white collar criminals deserve equally

IMOO, he shouldn't be treated with anymore leniency or harshness than an average Joe or Jane. There have been many more allegations, but he's been convicted of this crime only. Some people seem to want to sentence him in the court of public opinion. At his age, in his condition, 3 years will seem like an eternity.
