There are so many ways people view things, I doubt everyone will ever agree. I do know I will continue to enjoy Cosby if he goes back into entertainment, and I will not continue this discussion today. I have to do something constructive like weed my garden.

I DO wish all involved in this case happiness and healing.

I'm off!

So, if I understand this correctly, BC was convicted in part on evidence he admitted to in depositions that were given when he was under the impression he would not be held liable for. So it was truthful what he said, he just did not expect he would be prosecuted for it based on the handshake of a former prosecutor. And while he has been in prison he has refused any treatment for what he had admitted to, or remorse. In effect, he acted as if he had not said those things. And now he is released not based on any truth, but on the technicality of an unwritten agreement that the things he admitted - the truth - would not be used to punish him. So how can he have it both ways. Either it wasn’t the truth when he said those things, so how can any agreement made at that time be binding. Or it was the truth, and he admitted being the sexual predator he was convicted for. This is maddening, and I feel so badly for his victims.
Yes! Bam!!
You said it better than the way I was trying to process it in my head.
I'm still shaking my head, I feel so bad for the victims.

MJ: Acquitted because he was innocent. But yeah, his life was destroyed anyway.
In your opinion. In mine, he will always be a child molester.

I see things totally different than most here. I'm glad he's out. Pounds of flesh have been extracted, time to let it go. I still respect his talent, he did something with his life.

My opinion only
Talent doesn't put someone above the law.

I hope that he is forever tainted goods and that noone ever hires him again! I'll certainly boycott him.

True, and my guess is just like OJ made the mistake of thinking, Cosby will think the world still loves him, and things will be back to normal soon just like a narcissist would think.
Surprisingly, he is getting quite a bit of support and adoration on social media.

He is as entitled to a fair and lawful judicial experience just like anyone else.

The adoration he is getting tells us so much how sexual assault victims are treated in this country. However you feel about whether his own words should have been used against him in trial or not He admitted that he is a RAPIST.Nothing will ever change that.

And that deal never should have been made, nor honored!

What transpired was that a lot of women were drugged and raped.

I have a jaded view of this case. I am old - let's just get that out of the way now. I remember back in the 70's and 80's. I remember what Hollywood was known for. I remember it being said that if you wanted to "get in the business" or be "successful in the business", you had to "sleep your way to the top". I remember that being the case even in corporations. Is it right?? Absolutely not! I am so glad we have moved out of the dark ages and women's rights are much better!!

However, most of the women back in those days "chose" to sleep their way in. Hollywood was a drug that many women craved! He admitted to giving women drugs. I know that was also a very Hollywood thing to do. Did he rape them? I am not sure if it was always rape or consensual based on what the culture was like back then. "I will sleep with you so that you will help my career even though I find you repugnant." I find it extremely hard because these allegations are decades old - some women I believe, some I choose to believe jumped on the band wagon for notoriety.

He spent 2 years in prison. I feel like his reputation and his life has been changed. There were no recent allegations. He is an old man who will go home and like OJ Simpson he will live a much different life. Even though MJ was acquitted, his life was much, much different afterwards. I believe Cosby will never have the opportunity to rape someone again - which is great!

I agree it should have never been made, but honored?? If we can't trust the DA, then how is our legal system going to ever be right??

I fail to see why an oral agreement made by a previous (possibly crooked) D.A. needs to be honored by his successor.

BBM. And that attitude is exactly why sexual abuse victims wait decades to come forward. One other point- these victims didn't willingly sleep with him, he drugged them.

We weren't allowed to watch "Fat Albert" or "The Huxtabels". Maybe Philly cops knew **** on him all those years ago?

Not sure. Had that feeling.

I know he’s a rapist. I think most people know he’s a rapist. He admitted what he did. He’ll die a known rapist at home now instead of in prison, and will be even more hated in history because he was freed on a technicality. Anyone who stands with him and defends him will be associated with a rapist out on a wink and a nod “agreement.” So tired of the bad guys winning. :(

Not in Philly. They're hooting and hollering.

Not ALL, but yep. Just like Meek Mills.

1. First of all he was married.
and MOST women think most married men honor that situation.
2. He offered the girls something for a headache /nerves or whatever they were experiencing (other than sleeping with him)
3. They were naive , green, some very young.
4. Bill was a predator who chose his prey .. the setting ..the capsule for the date rape drug....pill ,wine, etc.
5. Bill planned with aforethought and criminal intent and then HE raped them .
6. He repeated this -modus operandi- over and over and over! Serial rapist!

MOO

My dad never said bad about him, but we wanted to watch "Fat Albert". He said the REAL Fat Albert ain't who they pretend he is???????

Edit. Sorry my dad was a cop. Detective. Over 35 years on. From uniform to Highway Patrol to the Gold Badge they know stuff. They don't tell ya, but you catch on.

Bill Cosby's treatment in prison revealed as disgraced actor's spokesman admits wife did not visit him once

ETA:
Wyatt, who spent Cosby's first several hours home with him upon his release, said that the actor was quite animated in his discussions at home about being behind bars. One thing Cosby shared was "how he was able to help so many people in the prison," Wyatt said.

"That's his platform now," the spokesman added.

It turns out Wyatt was not only on hand to assist Cosby's return home, but he was also the comedian's sole visitor during his last two years being locked up. Wyatt explained to Fox News that not even Cosby's wife Camille paid him a visit.

"His wife has not seen him in almost three years. I was his only visitor. He's going to get back to his family [now,]" he said.

So now his platform is “helping people” That’s disgusting.

Well he ain't got Qualudes to help "people". I must check and see when they pulled them.

His $70 worth of Zio pizza? Helped him. Very trite considering this horrendousness, but why Zio's? Plenty of great pizza up Elkins Park Way. I know I am sorry, but this is a THING. Guess they got it at Zio's South Philly. Very easy to spend $70 for pizza.

They got the real Tony's up that way. Tomato Pie. Glad he ain't at beginning with "T" Port Richmond. Thanking Blessed Mother he prolly don't know begins with "S". Same name as street on Girard. The $25 pie I'd pay $50 for.

Again not at all minimizing the pain, suffering, humiliation, fear, confusion, shame these drugged women endured. Unfortunately I get it. It's pi**ing me off passing the TV looking at a predator eating pizza.
