"All of which is critical to understanding how a former cop, bouncer, and bodyguard from City Island built a private-detective agency with a seven-figure annual gross."

Seven-figure?? Of course, that's the agency annual gross, but still...

Isn't this kind of small potatoes for him?

"Seven figures" may not be all that much depending on the number of people, overhead, etc. He's NYC based. Life is pricey here.

Anyway, nothing is small potatoes if it gets you national publicity.

yeah... I knew you guys would pick up on that (as well as the double entendre)
:whoosh:

If BS is not working for and through an attorney for D and J, can't the Grand Jury subpoena him to spill his guts?

'Stanton said he would hold a news conference on Thursday to offer new information in the case, including more information about who hired him.'

Just heard he'll be on CNN in a few minutes. This should be interesting, maybe.

So why couldn't he just say who hired him yesterday?

Is he trying to evenly distribute little tidbits so that they can take him through the maximum number of news conferences? Today he tells that his employer's name doesn't start with A, tomorrow he says it isn't a bald man, Friday he says his employers like bacon with their lettuce.

In the small, competitive world of celebrity private eyes, image and self-promotion are everything. "There's no question that you've really got to bang the drum and make some noise to get them in the tent," Stanton says. "But once they're inside, you've got to give them a good show or they won't come back."http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/crimelaw/features/4259/
He sounds like an old time preacher at a tent revival meeting.

It seems so. It doesn't seem he would be averse to that - he's not working for the family, he's been clear. He's trying to find Lisa, and bring whoever the perps are to justice, and willing to take that in whatever direction it leads.

I must say I think his initials say it all.

LOL! I had not read this far when I posted the same thing, Jayarre! Struck me that way also!

Interesting too, is most of the time when working with high profile people/celebrities discretion and privacy are of the utmost importance to them, unless of course you don't want to work for them again. Yet, he seems happy to name drop.

Like everything else in this case even the PI is a study in contradictions. The P in his case clearly does not stand for private.

He's not working with celebrities.

"Private" means not public. It means not a part of the public judicial system.

It doesn't mean secret.

From KMBC's Maria Antonia re: the hiring of the private investigator: He said he has been retained by a person who wishes to remain anonymous, a person who cares about the child but has not been retained by anyone in Missouri.

Maybe it's that rich family from Conn. (IIRC:waitasec:) that was "helping" LP down in Orlando?

Seems like the media is intent on billing this as the new Caylee Anthony story which, if they succeed, would mean giant potatoes.

Prayers it doesn't turn into a circus like that. All we need is a bunch of wacko invasive nuts camping out in people's front yards. : (

Embarrasses us in front of the world. Again.
