When they wear glittery shoes and get liposuction and stay in 5 star hotels?

Don't forget the veneers on their teeth :D

ETA: Too young for Botox? :D

Seems like the media is intent on billing this as the new Caylee Anthony story which, if they succeed, would mean giant potatoes.

People Magazine has started. The rest won't be far behind now that they have a mouthpiece that doesn't seem to shy away from the camera. This poor child is going to be lost in the shuffle until some hapless person stumbles upon her.

All my :twocents: which is really worth about half that today.

Prayers it doesn't turn into a circus like that. All we need is a bunch of wacko invasive nuts camping out in people's front yards. : (

Embarrasses us in front of the world. Again.

Amen to that!

From KMBC's Maria Antonia re: the hiring of the private investigator: He said he has been retained by a person who wishes to remain anonymous, a person who cares about the child but has not been retained by anyone in Missouri.

So is there a reason why he couldn't have said so in the first presser??? :banghead: Didn't he know who hired him yet?

Well the trouble with that is that myself, and several others were in here last night, when we were waiting for the presser to start. We had the live broadcast up. Several heard the folks setting it up, who were unaware their mikes were open, say that the network was paying for it.

Now either they were mistaken or the network is paying for it. I believe the network is paying for it.

If you go back to the beginning of the thread you will find the info there.

Hmm. He arrived at the grandparent's home with police in an unmarked car, and the cops went in and he stayed in the car.

Sounds like they're working cooperatively together.

Where did you get that from. I wish there was a live feed somewhere of this search as well.

I am missing something here.. I realize he is not a quiet PI but as far as I have read, he has a decent business and has worked for major clients including msm.

Why is everyone calling him LP etc? What exactly is so sleazy or so funny about him?

Bill Stanton

I think we have another Leonard on our hands.

Why would media hire him? Because LE isn't talking to media. So they hire their own investigator, convince parents that this is a good thing for them, and try to get LE to talk to him. Anything new he learns will go to media at least as fast as it goes to LE (and maybe faster.)

I don't think he will shield the parents as they are not his employers and he doesn't owe them any loyalities. With his comment about being a liason with LE I think maybe parents are hoping that he will be one more layer between them and LE. Like a way not to interact with LE unless LE requests an 'interview', but to still stay in the loop. But I do think LE will be very cautious talking to him. He may be ex LE, but they know he is a pipeline straight to the media.

Now the question is, will he actually investigate and will we get more info?

Isn't that almost word for word the initial statement announcing LP entering the case?

I don't get it either. He doesn't seem like an LP to me. And today, riding with the cops to the grandparents house, they're not trying to distance themselves from him.

I think he has a legitimate place in this investigation. He's much more approachable (my opinion) than LE I've seen in this case, and if I had a tip that I wasn't sure about I might be comfortable giving it to him instead of LE.

I thought that was why they had a tip line ?

The issues that I am seeing are the contradictions in why and under what capacity he is there (via his own statements). And if he is there under a PI capacity, then he should have done his hmwk and known he needed to get a lic. in MO.

Interesting that Stanton stayed in the car. I wonder if LE has "clued" him in on something that he didn't know about?

Why would he stay in the car, and the police go in?

Does anyone know if he went into the house at all at that time?

Just conjecture, but I think HE has "clued" LE into a tip they didn't previously know. And he stayed in the car because he's not a cop - they may have wanted to talk to the grandparents in private. And then Stanton stayed in the car in case it was one of those "uh, they have no idea what you're talking about" situations. For further info if needed.

Just my thought. I can't imagine if they had the tip, and Stanton didn't, they'd be sharing it with him. They already said they wouldn't.

My family hired private investigators early on. We were desperate for any help to find my baby brother. They had never worked on a missing childs case and were just as baffled as LE. I don't remember exactly when into my brothers disappearance my Parents decided to get their own tip telephone line set up, but they did (i think w/in the first couple months). It was because we had heard several instances where people had called in sightings and they weren't followed up on. www.findchristopher.com

Over the years my family have worked with other families who have missing children. Here is one, that was an infant kidnapping that many of you may have not heard of.
