Ummm...does this bother anyone?

According to Sweetwater police chief Jim Kelley, around 12:15 a.m. Monday, an on-duty officer was "staying at a house in the 2100 block of Robert Lee with his ex-wife."

"He stopped by there to get a glass of tea," Kelley said,

Yah, ummmhmmmm...he stopped by at 12:15 AM to get a glass of tea. Suuurrreee he did.

You're right - you can't make this stuff up!

The way the article is written, I can't tell who's ex-wife it is or who stopped by for ice tea.

P.s. Imo, Mr. Young knows the officer's ex-wife...

I bet he knows her very well :whipper:

this whole thing screams love triangle imo

Not taking blood or doing any tests to determine intoxication when they are claiming intoxication seems pretty stinky to me. Do LE not believe in evidence in Texas?

Then there is this claim that the cop "disarmed" what (I guess) he believed to be a deranged stranger lurking behind the house with a gun threatening to shoot him. Uh huh....what cop would dream of doing that, they would shoot in a heartbeat first. And in Texas?? Did he not have his own gun on him while on duty? And why would he confront such an individual under such circumstances?

And this lawyer...does he make a habit of stumbling around back alleys drunk waving a gun?

My guess is that there is some sort of personal backstory here.

Nah, the report indicates that the officer approached the car suspecting that it was Mr. Young's. Doesn't appear he expected to find a stranger.

Post 40 upthread. 1989 DUI where Mr. Young hit and killed a mother of two (pedestrian) while he was intoxicated.

The link in the post is to the archives of the Abilene News. The article was written in 2004. I paid $2.95 for the article 2 months ago; it pulled up when the link was clicked, up until yesterday. The article now appears to be removed; guessing in light of the recent arrest and not wanting to open a can of worms since the DUI charges/testimony 20 years ago was one case in a multi-case major scandal with the Lubbock DAs office and Forensic Pathologist... I own the full copy though and posted the key facts upthread #40...

I don't believe for one minute that BJD will be able to hire another attorney. No money. Young agreed to do it pro bono. Birds of a feather, flock together and the flock is growing.

Atkins remains quiet because his family demands it.

It's gonna get wierder. This gives BJD the ability to start talking again.

Young is toast. If convicted, he'll do jail time and will be disbarred! No more law practice for him EVER!

Let's hope that his "connections" within the legal community prove useless.
I expect there will be a plea bargain, nonetheless.

IMO LE blew it somewhat, by not getting a blood alcohol/drug test. Really dumb move.

If this girlfriend is divorced from the cop who arrested John Young, maybe someone needs to see who her D I V O R C E lawyer was that represented her. Was it Young? Was there a relationship? If so, isn't that just like a doctor dating a patient and isn't it against their ethics? Could he lose his license over that too if he was involved with her while he was representing her in a divorce. Assuming he was that is....just an assumption and my speculation. Her divorce should be public record if we know her name. Any ideas?

Speaking of doctors dating a patient, when I worked in Forensic Services, a married doctor had his license revoked for having an extramarital affair with his patient. He was in a heap of trouble so one of the psychiatrists agreed to see him. After his appointment, the psychiatrist told us the reason the doctor came to see him was because he wanted him to testify in Court that he was impotent.

I thought Young was married with children. Is he divorced now?

Dunn reportedly had to make quite a trip to appear in court Wednesday. Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs said Dunn has moved from Colorado City, and currently is living in Travis County.

1- BJD hired a lawyer who "killed" a woman while drunk?
2- This lawyer is "drunk" in a parked car with a loaded gun at a woman's house?
3- The lawyer aims his gun at a person that he KNOWS is a police officer?

a- he got off with a hand slap for vehicular homocide while intoxicated.
b- he is "drunk' stalking a woman after midnight that has police protection.
c- he threatens the officer while intoxicated with a loaded weapon.

*- and no blood alcohol level was done.

The lawyer gets away with murder the first time. Was he hoping to run over a second woman? or just shoot her?
BJD got the perfect lawyer to represent her! birds of a feather and all.
The lawyer also got away with it the second time! he had a gun... was at the woman's house and aimed it at a cop. then no one tests his BAC. WHY?
The cop didn't shoot him? Around here dude would be dead!

Ehh let him out... he's as innocent as BJD!

ok MAYBE he was after the cop... but I kinda doubt it.

According to www.cbs7.com, Young represents Willie Hurst, whose capital murder trial was to start June 28. The judge in this case appointed a new attorney to represent Hurst.

I drove by the house she lived in the last time I was in c-city about a month or so ago and I noticed there were padlocks on the front door and it didn't look lived in. I knew no one was living in it. I actually got some flip cam video of me driving by the house but I don't know where to host it is a site like megaupload ok? it's not a great vid from a car me driving by and holding the camera with the other hand if I edit it and slow it down you might be able to see the missing posters in the window and the padlocks on the door

Salem, here it is.

Thank you for the link
