She phoned "home" on the phone and spoke to Tim's sister.

OMG! If they have call display....they would have seen his cell number come up on the home phone!!!!

He concentrated solely on watching video from the night Bosma went missing.

Looked for security camera video at the business, there was only one camera on that area. He watched video for about an hour.

Adam Carter
Feb 3 2016 3:01 PM
He went there at about 2:45 p.m.

When he was still working, he was involved in the case on May 9. He went out to Kemira to get the phone with another officer.

Randy Kovacsik now testifying. He's a retired police officer.

Kovacsik watched about 1.5 hrs of video. Says he saw "no activity" worthwhile to the investigation. #MillardSmich

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 2m2 minutes ago
Kovacsik met a plant manager at Kemira, who let him to watch surveillance video from the area. Time stamp was about 26 mins behind. #Bosma

Good God. :( I can be pretty dispassionate about a lot of these cases, but I can really empathize with Sharlene Bosma (I worry about my loved ones a lot when they are out of touch), and I didn't even think about what you just pointed out. I literally felt it in my stomach when I read it and realized.

Kovascik did NOT speak to Kingswood. His partner took a statement from him. #MillardSmich

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 2m2 minutes ago
After watching surveillance video, Kovascik says #Bosma's cellphone was given to him and partner. #MillardSmich

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 2m2 minutes ago

Dungey doesn't cross examine.

Pillay is now cross examining. Pillay is questioning the time stamp on the surveillance video - they were different than the time stamp on the phone. "The video surveillance at Kemira is 26 minutes off," Pillay says.

The phone was turned over to a detective in forensic services.

All of this testimony centres around Kemira in Brantford, where Tim Bosma's phone was discovered.

So the battery was NOT out. That means the ping was likely when the battery died. So that means they were not necessarily still in the area at that time, 10:56pm. Does appear as though they threw it out a window but now I have no idea at what time that may have been. Maybe closer to the shut down time?

MOO

Amateur hour continues. If they threw that phone out the window 5 second earlier or 5 seconds later...it is probably never found. Yet they successfully landed it on the front lawn of a business, up against a fence. Rural or not...businesses do cut the grass on their properties.

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 2m2 minutes ago
Pillay confirms with Kovascik that time stamp in Kemira surveillance tape was 26 mins off. #MillardSmich. No further questions.

Believe it or not, I was following multiple cases that summer where dumb-arse criminals casually tossed cellphones out of cars around town, helping lead to their arrests. Whitney Heichel was one of the victims I recall.

Interesting. An anagram of "Lucas Bate" is "casual bet."

When I keep seeing Bate phone I keep reading as if it's Bait phone. As if Baiting someone into something

Sorry, I still just see the juvenile joke of Mr. Bate. Although bait makes a certain sick sense.

That said, Lucas Bate shares initials with Laura Babcock.
