Dungey asks if Jennings ever saw work done on planes there. He says no - says he only saw work on cars or construction.

Witness and jury being recalled now.

Hmmm...I think we can see what the objection was. Based on the rephrasing of the question, the objection was likely "This witness is not an expert in aviation and can't answer if there was "anything to do with airplanes" going on in the hangar." So he changed it to very specific...did you ever see work done on planes? MOO

Again it's brought up that there was "space for fixing cars" at the hangar. Also pointed out again that Millard was living there at some point.

I think this guy knew he was working with stolen vehicles...I don't believe he just went along with everything no questions asked. IMO he was afraid his SIL was involved and he could also be in trouble for working at a chop shop.

remind me who AM is.....

AM was a friend of DM that we sleuthed early on. He had a photo posted of a cottage with lots of canned good.
He was never arrested, so we can't talk about him here

Looking at huge bay doors at the hangar used to let planes into the hangar.

Yes, I think "I didn't know who was involved" makes it clear he was torn between loyalty to his daughter (i.e., his daughter's husband) and doing the "right" thing. I don't mean this in a bad way, as it stands I feel for the guy.

OTOH AJ was doing a program in supply chain management, which means he should be working with shipping and inventory and computers...meanwhile, he's putting up wall trim and assembling e-bikes for DM, which has absolutely nothing to do with supply chain management.

So he was not being honest with the school that was certifying him, in that his co-op placement was a joke.

I think AJ already knew how to keep his mouth shut and that's why he didn't open up to LE about the location of the truck.

SS and AJ both had a good thing going there, easy work and a comfortable placement respectively. If they took down DM, they are shooting the goose that laid the golden egg: SS's weekly paycheque.

Next witness: Igor Tumamyenko. Man who says he took 2 men fitting #MillardSmich descriptions on test drive of truck he was selling.

Is it possible, given DM's finances, some of the folks working there actually had no idea these were stolen vehicles? Or is it more realistic to assume everyone pretty much knew, they just didn't talk about it? (sorry of that sounds like a dumb question)

A 2010, also a diesel.

Adam Carter Feb 4 2016 2:55 PM
He was selling a Dodge Ram as well.

Adam Carter Feb 4 2016 2:55 PM
Sorry, Tumamenko with an A.

Agreed. But my mind starts to wander in a different direction when I heard "Colombian contractors" and details about trailers being built and his trips to Mexico...

On another note...DM's lawyer focused in on DM not hiding the truck. Based on what we are hearing about SS from FIL, and other details about DM....I have a feeling that he felt like that hangar was his safe zone. All his people in cahoots with him. No risk. He was weary of FIL because he wasn't tested over time. He probably only let him in because SS vouched for him. But overall he felt like having that truck in the middle of that hangar was the equivalent of having it buried 10 feet under ground. If I had to bet I would put my money on EVERYONE in that hangar (other than FIL) knew exactly what was sitting there. MOO

Based on his written request to CN asking her to persuade a friend/witness to change their testimony DM clearly felt that he wielded a certain amount of control over his friends.

AJ said he didn't ask questions, that the business (Millard Air) was not his business and he just did as he was told.

The man called Tumamenko on Sunday at 2 p.m. and said he was running an hour late. That was an issue for Tumamenko and he said it "pissed him off."

Adam Carter Feb 4 2016 2:59 PM
Tumamenko lives in North York.
