Sakach drops the "horsing around issue." #MillardSmich

Sakach asks Bullmann if the ppl in the vehicles seemed to be horsing around. Bullmann says he didn't say that. "Certain. 100%."

Any thoughts on that line of questioning by DM's lawyer?

I think he is trying to paint a picture of there being a struggle

I like it when Pillay helps out:

Millard’s defence attorney, Ravin Pillay, said in court that phone records showed the phone call between DiCiano and Millard took place on May 8. The call to cancel the job was made to the auto body shop’s manager on May 9. DiCiano agreed.

He definitely has a plan that we don't know about. Wasn't he the one who also spent time confirming with the officer that presented the finger print evidence that it was in fact DM's finger print on the rear view mirror and that this detail would place his client in the front seat of Bosma's truck?

Great point! We haven't even gotten to the Yukon yet! Story will be blown wide open if they found traces of Tim's blood in the Yukon as well.

People are talking about a lot of blood but would the type of gun supposedly used cause that much damage? Perhaps there was no exit wound?

To me, the closer his death was to his home, the more sickening it feels.

We are all following this case for different reasons. Some, it is geographically close to home. Some it simply hits home because it was a family man doing a very day to day type of thing. Others have an overall interest in the various criminal trials. Regardless of the reason, we tend to get focused on the facts and details and we try to figure out what happened as we go along. When we actually stop and think about what was happening at the same time with regards to the other players involved, it is heartbreaking. To think of SB settling in to watch one of her shows that she doesn't get to watch when Tim is there (or at least without him making fun of her TV choices) as her husband is likely already dead before she hits play on the remote. It is absolutely heartbreaking. I am sure she is well aware of the details of the field in question etc. She has to pass it every time she goes out.

Millard called again on May 9 and cancelled the order, Pillay says phone records show.

Pillay says phone records show Millard called Diciano at 12:26 p.m. on May 8, 2013 twice talking about the truck. The first call went to a message machine.
Pillay is confusing me!! He's just made it clear that DM cancelled the paint job when AJ ID'd the truck. I guess it's part of the "nothing to hide" "DM's a nice, upfront, genuine" guy defence. MOO

Sunset was at 8:28 p.m. on May 6, 2013. It was dark. The vehicles were dark.

Is it possible they could have also pointed the gun on Tim, and then tied him up in some fashion. (Forcible Confinement) I am just thinking they would want to check out the truck and how it drove before ultimately deciding this was the truck they wanted for sure. Either way whether Tim was shot at killed at this time, or restrained..it seems to have happened very fast.

I am hoping that becomes a lot clearer as we progress. I think a lot of us latched on to the opening statement when they indicated they found traces of Tim's blood in both the front and back seat to mean there was some form of splatter. MOO

I think the amount of blood was assumed from the fact that the Crown says it was found on the truck's undercarriage, which most suspect would be due to 'seepage' through the floor...sorry :S

it will be very interesting to see what his defense is.....technically noone has yet identified him as the person who was at TB's or driving with Igor......any chance DM's lawyer is going to say that there is an "evan" out there who was the person with MS and DM had no clue what went on?

It's interesting, because the latest google street view of Book & Trinity has the Bell van there on the corner, and two kids on bikes (on Book, facing west - but the image changes as soon as you cross Trinity to a June 2014 image instead of the July 2014 image showing the Bell van & the kids). Kitty corner is a nice house right on the corner and even though I had no prior knowledge of this witness today, something about this intersection kept bugging me. I was thinking maybe it was that house that had video surveillance. In event, if you scroll back through the google street view timeline, you can see that chain across the dirt laneway with the sign in the center. In two of the images it's not there but in the other 3 it is.

I don't know if they google-street-viewed the area before they got there to figure out where to park the Yukon since they (likely) weren't familiar with the area - but I suspect maybe they did.

He may have been alive, but unconscious.

I thought the exact same thing last night. What's more is, she's learning a lot of these details right along with the rest of us. I couldn't imagine having the drive right past that field entrance every time I left to run errands or to go home again, after learning this. In fact, I'd pretty much have to move so I wouldn't have to see it EVERY day. :(

The neighbour gave a 15 minute time frame. Could they have driven for 10 minutes or so then headed back towards Tim's home, but went to the field?

I believe he was shot in the truck, but maybe it wasn't at that field. It could have been on the return from a short test drive.

I think the neighbor was saying it was *sometime* between/around 9 and 9:15. But sure it's possible they drove down Trinity, and drove around for a few minutes before going to the field.

After this happened, police in other cities started warning people not to meet strangers at their own home when selling items online. They suggested meeting in a public place, preferably with video cams. They also told people selling vehicles to take a photo of the testee's driver's licence and send it to an email address that could be referenced later.

There have been carjackings since where perps ran over vehicle sellers with their own vehicle when they got out to change seats. I think police were worried about copycats, as Tim's story was talked about nationwide.

Many are watching and reading with "it could happen to anyone, it could happen to me" in mind, so SB should know she has virtual support from strangers.

So Igor described the tattoo as being inside a rectangular frame, but in fact there is none?

I was thinking the same..did he draw a box around it for some reason? I don't get it..why not just hide the tattoo altogether..I think Igor maybe just did not remember correctly?

Im guessing these guys are going to say that they both went out with the intent to buy the truck, thats not in dispute. DM is going to MS acted alone and killed TB. MS is going to argue the opposite. My guess is Millard is going to say he left TB & MS in the RAM. When he saw it in the hanger the next day he assumed a deal was done and he began contracting painters and such. It wasn't until AJ pointed out where the vehicle came from that Millard starts hiding it. Perhaps this explains the icy behaviour towards each other in court.
