Looking at "Lucas Bate" Mobile Tech bill from last week again. Bought $20 Pre-paid voucher, Huawei cellphone, unlimited US/Can long dist.

It was a prepaid phone. Airtime is paid for up front, so Wind not that concerned w verifying identity, he testifies. No credit checks.#Bosma

There was $350 in cash in Millard's pocket.

Sauve wasn't wearing gloves at the time. "Anything that I retrieve from the accused I place on my own person to maintain control of the evidence."

The gloves were handed over to Staff Sgt. Kavanagh at police headquarters in Hamilton.

The gloves are normal attire when working on cars. $350 would be pocket change IMO. I often carry $200 on me for groceries.

I guess for some people...I feel nervous if I have more than $50 cash on me, lol

I wonder why the CN DNA cast off was brought into evidence now?
Seems the Crown Case is being presented in a bit of a none sequential way, or at least it appears to me that way right now, I assume it will all be pulled together...

Break already? didn't they just get back from lunch? I can see why this will take 4 months lol

  • #289
Though apparently he didn't think to wear them when he left his prints all over TB's Ram... lol:facepalm:

Maybe he wasn't trying to hide them. At least now we know he could have if he's wanted to. JMO

I think the amount of blood was assumed from the fact that the Crown says it was found on the truck's undercarriage, which most suspect would be due to 'seepage' through the floor...sorry :S

More likely hooking up a trailer hitch covered in blood after dropping someone in an incinerator.

MOO

I spent ONE DAY in a potential jury pool, and it was unbelievably exhausting. I have a lot of sympathy for them.

(I know you were mostly kidding, but man it makes me tired when I remember the eight hours I spent in that courthouse--let alone months.)

IMO, an upfront guy like DM, may also be a real cheap guy and you never know when you're going to be getting your hands dirty- OR you may have had a gut feeling that LE were going to be searching the hangar since AJ had blabbed, thus the need to get anything incriminating out of there. Wonder if there was anything on the gloves? The suspense!! MOO

Folks, please do not link to people with the same name until it is known 100% that it is the same person.

I suspect that it's often it's the mundane realities of police officer availability when scheduling witness order. An experienced defense lawyer told me once that the aggravation of scheduling police officers is often a motivation for the Crown to strike a deal with a defendant in more minor cases. So I guess it is more challenging than a lay person would assume.

Is it possible they could have also pointed the gun on Tim, and then tied him up in some fashion. (Forcible Confinement) I am just thinking they would want to check out the truck and how it drove before ultimately deciding this was the truck they wanted for sure. Either way whether Tim was shot at killed at this time, or restrained..it seems to have happened very fast.

Given what was done to TB's body, I shudder to think what may have been done to him while he was still alive. And sadly because of how his body was disposed of, no one will likely ever know (unless the two start talking). :(

Just to add some clarity...(finally a use for my University degree!!!) it would have still be quite light even after 9pm. Based on the National Research Council of Canada website, sunset was at 8:27pm, civil twilight was at 8:59pm and nautical twilight was 9:39pm. Now in English...sunset is when the top edge of the sun dips below the horizon. Still very bright outside at this point. Civil twilight is when the sun is below the horizon but less than 6 degrees below the horizon. Still quite bright at this time and only the brightest stars can be seen in the sky. Nautical twilight is when you can only see the outline of the horizon. Based on SB's and the renter's testimony, it was still light enough to see the two people that came for the test drive, but it was getting darker. It wouldn't have been completely dark until around 9:45pm. MOO

Anyone know if the skies were clear or cloudy that night? What about the moon?

I was thinking the same..did he draw a box around it for some reason? I don't get it..why not just hide the tattoo altogether..I think Igor maybe just did not remember correctly?

English is not Igor's first language. He may have meant the letters were in the shape of a rectangle, not circular, or vertical, as is possible with a tattoo. As has been mentioned before, DM was a doodler, and may have boxed it in with ballpoint ink, while daydreaming about the upcoming crime, and thinking how " ambitious " he was. Igor did draw it for LE on a piece of wood. The drawing would clarify exactly what he remembered, and we have not seen that.

Not to belabor the point...but this will give you a feel for the field that was being described, where we believe the second vehicle was stowed, in reference to the Bosma house. When you click the link you will see the hay bails in the field in question. This is looking NE up Trinity. Spin around pretty much 180 degrees and you see the Bosma house. The spot that this image is from is approximately halfway between the Bosma house and the corner of Trinity and Book. Sad to think how close to home. MOO

Too bad the Crown didn't ask IT which side of the back seat MS sat on during their test drive. Wonder what happened to that green tarp?
