But she didn't. She lawyered up, communicated with DM against the no contact list and didn't speak to LE until she was arrested and charged with accessory. After they had to do all the grunt work of investigating her role before arresting her.

MOO
I meant to cooperate fully NOW not then. To accept a plea bargain for her to spill it.
I could be way off. I'm not saying it's fact. JMO

Me either.

Did CN even know how to drive or have a drivers license back then or even now? She took the subway to school.

And where did she go at 1:30am when DM and MS were at the hangar alone with both vehicles? Did they drop her off somewhere? What did her electronic footprint reveal? Did she have an alibi for that night? Did anyone see her or call her that night?

LE didn't need her to level the charges on DM and MS, they've got plenty on them without her. She didn't co-operate with them about anything until she was arrested it appears. If she was there and LE knew it by her electronic footprint, or lack of one for that evening, she would have been charged with 1st degree just like the other two. Think Karla.

So I agree with you. Doesn't add up to me either.

MOO

You could be quite right, but I can think of one way she would have transportation home, and not go to the hangar, so she would not be seen on video there that night. CN may have left her car at the farm before driving, or riding in the Yukon on the trip to Tim's house. We know DM and MS went there after killing Tim, and took his body to the hangar to use the incinerator, which they towed with Tim's truck. CN might have taken evidence, like the gun in the locked tool box, got in her car, and driven home. I believe it was reported that MS picked up the tool box from a friend, and that friend was not named. Please correct me if I am wrong on that. If her DNA is on the toolbox, it would fit in with this scenario. I am not dogmatic about her being a driver of the Yukon that night, but in my opinion, if she does not have a solid alibi, it is a possibility.

But LE have video of DM and MS (alone) together at the hangar while the cremator burned. If CN was along as the driver, surely she'd still be with them then? But she was not.

And again...her charges date to May 9, so it is for something she did (beginning) on May 9 and after. (She wasn't charged until April 10 the next year.)

Re: the location of the video cam that caught the Yukon driving behind Tim's truck...

I don't remember when, but right after LE came out and said it was seen just after Tim's truck left his driveway (or however they worded it) I always thought it *had* to be a security camera somewhere along his own road. There are some homes & businesses that sit close enough to the road that if they had a security camera it could have easily picked up those vehicles. I've never even been on that road physically, but been down it so many times with my google guy it's kind of ridiculous.

A lot of farms have Security Cameras simply because they can't see every corner of their property and use it as a deterrent. A friend of mine (farmer) some years ago had a visit from the Police. Their overhead surveillance had noted a large patch of marijuana growing in amongst his corn. He put up a security camera that week and has never taken it down. Someone got onto his property and started a grow up.

She didn't have to follow them to the hanger. Maybe to another location such as where TB phone was dumped so they could give her the gun to hold onto. Then she went on her way

You still have to send it out. And it's probably a lot more expensive than a paint job. He's frugal you know.

MOO

Price varies greatly, depending on quality. But the thing is, it's fast. The work can be done in a day.

It is only my opinion, but I don't think it would be necessary for her to be at the hangar that night after helping with the escape. Getting the murder weapon off DM's property might have been important to him, and the sooner she got home, the easier it would be for her to say she was not there.

That was in September, four or five months after TB's murder that an investigator followed her on the subway and took the straw from the cup she discarded in the trash.

She was arrested and charged about eight months later April 2014. I would imagine her DNA was found on something. Inside or on the outside of TB's truck, on something it in the hangar, on the incinerator? LE found evidence she helped DM move the incinerator and TB's truck so...
ALL MOO.
By April 2014, CN had already amassed a nice stack of letters from DM. I'm wondering if she was more useful to LE not arrested? MOO

It was brought up in a previous thread, I will try to dig it out, that the tool box was dropped off to a friend on May 9th, was it not?

From the Crown's opening address:

Mr. Millard contacted a friend on May 9, 2013, the night before his arrest and made arrangements to drop off a locked tool box for him to hold on to. Mr. Millard did this around 4:00 a.m. with his girlfriend.

After the arrest of Mr. Millard, Mr. Smich obtained possession of the toolbox from mutual friends of the two Accused. Mr. Smich was aware of the arrest of Mr. Millard and he took steps to gain control and possession of the locked toolbox.

Maybe MS keeps his head turned to the side and avoids expression being seen, like he did at the test drives. I'd bet he would wear a hoody to court if he could. JMO
I know I would wear a hoodie if I was MS- it would assist in blocking the stares, head shakes and glances from DM. I keep thinking how unnerving those stares and gestures would be. IMHO, MS is showing a tremendous amount of control and respect by continuing to have respect for the Court, witnesses and Jury and keeping his vision forward. MOO

Agree. He should have put his dentures in for the mug shot.

Wow! I have to say how impressed I am with IT. That tattoo is small and I could imagine it would have been hard to make out unless someone was fairly close. The fact IT said there was a box around it...I wouldn't doubt IT was right. I have to wonder what DM was doing when IT was able to decipher that tattoo.

DM drew the box on with a sharpie or pen I bet. MOO.

I know it's been gone over (and over, and over) but it occurred to me today how many different ways you can describe fonts/lettering. There's lower case, upper case, all caps, block lettering, cursive, long hand, printing, writing, script and... on and on it goes. Here's the thing though: what one person grew up calling "printing" another person grew up knowing that as all lower case lettering. What one person calls longhand, another calls script or cursive. It all depends on where you're from and what you've always called it - and that's just here in North America in English. As a graphic designer that does event invitations for a living, I hear this (literally) every single day. "Can we change the lettering from script to printing?" the client will say. So I have to ask specifically what they mean and show them different styles of lettering with their proper names. Often, the lettering they choose isn't even the lettering they were referring to at all.

Most folks don't even think about this but I do because I hear it every day. I can't even imagine what it might be like for someone who's native language (and culture) isn't even English - and who might even have (probably do) different words for it in their own language. I have actually had people ask me for a rectangle font when they mean a block letter style - but that's how they see it/say it.

So, all that to say, it really doesn't surprise me at all that Igor described the tattoo differently than the way it really looks. Didn't want to beat that old horse too much but felt it was important to point that out.

It's been stated that it was dropped off at 4am on the 10th.

From the Crown's opening address:

Thanks for finding this. So, if he dropped off the toolbox, with his girlfriend CN, maybe she already had it, then they left it with someone else. I imagine that is the last thing CN would want found at her house, and she may have insisted he not leave it with her. We still do not know who the other friend is that took it from them. Could this have been MS ? or was it someone else like even Shane who worked for DM ? My opinion only.

The May 9 date seems to be a sticking point in CN's involvement. Is it not possible CN did something that alerted LE to her which lead to her arrest that they could pin point on May 9. They needed solid evidence to charge her. She wasn't charged for almost an entire year later. Which tells me LE was building their case against DM and MS.
Now LE said early on they didn't know if the 3rd person was a man or woman. Once LE got ahold of CN I think that's when more started to unravel and the plea bargaining took place.
Why would they go back and add to these charges if they need CN to cooperate now?

I just think there is something to today's evidence which put the Yukon and TBs truck pulling out together onto Book and the CN DNA... could it be possible thst ciggs butt was found on book rd that had DNA but female? So then LE started to determine who's DNA it could be hence rhe DNA cast off collection from CN.

I saw it as more of an achievement thing. Would be way douche-ier to get that same tat if he hadn't actually done the race, lol
I'm thinking more of it being a decoy for Mexican border crossings. I suspect he had bigger business than racing going on.
On a similar subject, how did that tattoo guy who sold him a gun ever get admitted to the USA?

I still have a hard time understanding CN's involvement prior to May 9. Why would she want to be a 3rd party/donut? She was not present at any other "test drive", so why would she be present with this one?
We do know what has been presented is that she is charged with accessory after the fact, and that it was said she helped move the truck to the Mother's, drop the toolbox at a friends' and to move the incinerator into the tree line at the farm.
I don't believe there was a donut on the night in question. :moo:

I don't think DM is the law abiding citizen or would he care if MS was caught driving without a licence.

MS was convicted of impaired driving in 2009. There was no mention at that time that he was driving without a licence or with a suspended licence. That conviction would likely have a minimum 1 year suspension of his licence so he should have it back by 2010-2011 at the latest. Why is there an assumption that he didn't have a drivers licence? Did I miss a subsequent charge or conviction?
