Dust and really small fragments from inside Eliminator swept into evidence bags.

Huys: "A lot of it was really small fragments" @CHCHNews #Bosma

Photo from above of Dr Rogers squatting inside of it, too, gives a good indication of its size. #Bosma

It seems like he just threw the engine swap comment out there in passing. Previously he had only mentioned seeing the incinerator, excavator, and skid steer. I wonder if it is relevant to the trial and whether he will expand on it after the recess.

BBM - So are you suggesting he's lying on the stand? What would be the benefit of that. He's testifying under oath. And we know there is a lot of information held back prior to the trial. IMO I doubt he just threw that out there. IIRC there were photos way back that were posted showing a wooden platform built around the excavator. Some members suggested back then it was relevant to work/repairs being done on the excavator. HTH and MOO.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Also found metal grommets inside Eliminator.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago

Huys says the bone material was resting on some of the tubes or fallen between some of them. The biggest concentration was on one end of the device, on the left side.

Feb 17 2016 4:03 PM
Now seeing a photo of the bottom of the incinerator -- lots of little fragments seen here.

Seeing a photo of the bones in something like a tool kit for transport. Well over a dozen small bags of bones in this photo.

So far the only defence we've heard from either Millard or Smich's lawyers is trying to point holes in the police investigation #Bosma

Grommets makes me think he was wrapped in yet another tarp before being put in there, or that a tarp was tossed in there along with him.

Metal grommets...perhaps from a tarp being disposed of? If I recall correctly, the type of tarp seen in images have had the metal tie down grommets along the edge

Or possibly from blue jeans? I think the tarp is more likely, though.

Or perhaps from a jacket, either Tb's and/or clothing belonging to the accused.

People who live on farms are generally very observant of any unusual activity. I'd say you'd have a better chance of getting away with something like this if he did it all at Maplegate. City people barely know who their neighbours are. Especially in Toronto. MOO

With DM being from the city, he would never think of this. Everyone in the country or from a small village or town knows everyone else's business. If they see something odd, they will investigate it. I agree with you, it would have been more private on the Maplegate property.

That would be my thought, that they all discarded their murder-wear after cleaning up.

To think that you could be with your family one minute, dead in maybe less than 5 minutes and reduced to bone fragments and ash within hours is the most frightening thought (or reality) I've ever experienced. And, who would expect something like that to happen? I am at such a loss I can't imagine how the family of Tim Bosma can come to terms with all of this. I recall Sharlene Bosma being interviewed shortly after Tim's murder and her comment was something to the effect of that she watched her husband leave the driveway and what came back to her was a little box of bones and ash. That's all she had of him. I will never forget her saying that nor forget her expression. This just became very real for me.

Court now hearing the technical aspects of how the examination went on, section by section.

Feb 17 2016 4:14 PM
By a tube at the bottom of the incinerator theres a load of debris. It's right by the wall of the Eliminator. It's debris, ash and bone, Huys says.

"She would collect it, pass it out to me, I'd do a couple of photos," says Huys about working with Rogers, then packing and sealing items.

We are seeing a tight shot from inside The Eliminator. Sgt Huys says it was full of debris, ash, and bone #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 13s13 seconds ago
Their process involves photographing debris and then labelling every bit of it with a number corresponding to the evidence. Painstaking.

There was something I was thinking about last night, the way we all keep saying how strong Sharlene is. I can't but help but wonder if that's just something we tell ourselves because it makes us feel better to think she's strong and coping and can stare down Dellen Millard. My significant other is thin and blond and blue-eyed and boyish-faced like Tim, and he's gone on test drives from Craigslist while selling a car. If this happened to me, I'd like to think I could be 'strong' and stare down Dellen Millard and find some way to get through it, but I suspect I would just be crumbling and dying and furious inside, especially during the trial. My heart goes out to her so much.

I suppose this could mean a lot of things but my guess is, these would be things that don't burn to ash but just melt. Metal things? Zippers, shoe eyelets, jacket buttons, etc.
