In cross of Huys, Millard lawyer makes point licence plate cd have been removed. serial number, incinerator description too #timbosma trial

***Okay so ABro makes that cross clearer. RP was suggesting that someone could have altered or disguised the incinerator but didn't. You know, because it's all out in the open.

Basically the defense is saying either my client is obviously innocent or my client is obviously an idiot.

Rogers' research has shown that the distance between the forearm and the body is greater in females than males, so she has developed a technique based on those bones to determine the sex of a person.

The distal humerus is the bone of study in those cases.

Dr. Rogers technique on identifying gender of skeletons now recognized around the world #Bosma

Agency in U.S. that does recovery of their "war dead" uses her technique...Rogers testified at the Robert Pickton murder trial in B.C.

So basically, if there is a bone expert you want to testify, Dr. Rogers is the one #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 4s4 seconds ago
Rogers has testified at many murder trials. #Bosma

Going through her CV. Technique she developed in 1999 to use humerus and elbow to determine sex.

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 7s7 seconds ago Hamilton, Ontario
She is able to characterize the sex of bones through analysis, 92 per cent accurate #Bosma

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 18s18 seconds ago Hamilton, Ontario
She published a paper in 1999 about her theory. Since then it's been tested around the world. #Bosma

Do you ever read something that makes you realize that there are people on this planet that are much smarter than you could ever comprehend???? :D

She's also working on a "lawyer's handbook for forensic sciences." Unsurprisingly, Rogers is qualified as an expert in forensic anthropology.

Rogers says she was first contacted by police on May 11, 2013. Sgt. Huys contacted her and asked if she could determine if a bone they had found was animal or human, "even if it had been burned."
Adam Carter

Feb 18 2016 10:49 AM
She told Huys to send her a series of pictures of the bones they had found. Rogers then asked for more specific views of the bones that had been found in the Eliminator.

May 11, 2013, 11:25 pm contacted by Huys. Asked if she could tell a bone was human even if it was burned. Would send her photos.

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV now Hamilton, Ontario
Dr. Rogers requested a number of photos of the bones, from a number of angles. We saw many of them yesterday in court. #Bosma

I can't wait to see the Defense try to punch holes in her testimony. I have a sneaky suspicion that we may see a Tweet that says "No cross-examination by either defense." MOO

She is available to consult for police across the province. Asked for different views of the two bones found.

Rogers received 3 emails with different images of the bones. @CHCHNews #Bosma

Dr Rogers received a series of emails including photos of the bones, which it appears we are about to see now. #Bosma

Tim's mother, Mary Bosma, has sat in the same seat, for every single minute of testimony. She stepped out yesterday before the bone photos.

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 31s31 seconds ago Hamilton, Ontario
Normally Mary Bosma sits to the left of her husband, Tim's father Hank, in the front row. She's not here today. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 27s27 seconds ago
We are now seeing the bone photos @HamiltonPolice sent to her. #Bosma Her preliminary assessment was they were human bones.

Now we're going to see a series of photos of the bones and the Eliminator in court.
Adam Carter

Feb 18 2016 10:53 AM
She gave a preliminary assessment on the 11th that the bones were human "But I did need to see them in person to determine that everything I was seeing in the images wasn't masked by the photograph." She went to the Hamilton police station the next day and confirmed that they were human bones.

And court is one again looking at a photo of a bone. There are three large screens - one for the jury, 2 for the public gallery. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 21s21 seconds ago
Looking at long bone found in the Eliminator. A human left radius. (Forearm.) Curvature to it result of fire damage. #Bosma

  • #59
Curious how they contained the flames, it looks to me like the entire field could have caught fire? That one spot looks almost perfectly square.

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 20s20 seconds ago Hamilton, Ontario
Dr. Rogers is now standing beside a large flat screen monitor, pointing to her own bone as an example. It's the left radius (arm) #Bosma

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 8s8 seconds ago Hamilton, Ontario
We are also seeing a bone, that she says was a second or third finger, not a thumb #Bosma

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV now Hamilton, Ontario
Dr Rogers is explaining how she determines an animal bone from a human bone. The most important detail is joint surfaces #Bosma
