What was the date that Shawn Lerner met with DM to discuss Laura?

Also DM took off to Croatia and other places with friends in mid-August. So interesting timing with SS's email about how the afterburner is was sounding great (????).

SL confronted DM with LB's phone records on July 27, 2012.

Do we know when exactly DM left the country?

Adam Carter 2:42 PM
Court now seeing figures written in pen at the bottom of one of the receipts. Penner says that wasn't done by anyone in his organization.

Do we know what these figures are? Are they calculations?

I'm wondering about the significance of the building application to Tim's murder. If he wanted to start a new chop shop, etc. what does it have to do with Tim?

Penner said in another email the SN500 would need 31.7 litres of propane per hour at full capacity.

I hope we will be able to see the emails and the scribblings as exhibits.

Writing on this document says "garbage or utilities account." That was written after it was sent to Schlatman, suggests Pillay.

Possibly, depending on the written communication. At issue is what DM's purpose in ordering the incinerator was, and not what SS thought or supposed or was told DM's purpose was, especially relayed via a third party.

If the Crown wants to introduce evidence of what SS told the company, they can (and perhaps are planning to ) call him as a witness. He can then testify directly to what he himself said and what DM may have said to him.

Here's an explanation of Canadian laws with regard to hearsay evidence:

http://www.duhaime.org/LegalDictionary/H/Hearsay.aspx

Perhaps the crown knows that what SS told them in his statement is different than what today's witnesses have told them he said?

So how is that handled?

I'm not expecting much truth out of SS. He will likely just go with his original statements to LE in his testimony. Which would be a lot of CYA IMO.

MOO.

So why is SS sending emails on Aug 15th about the incinerator when DM is out of the country at the time? Very strange IMO.

It was written by DM or the MillardAir accountant/controller likely. Does SS now get and open all the mail for MillardAir as well? He should have been CEO. MillardAir was an actual company with employees when that incinerator was delivered.

What kind of mind games is Pillay trying to pull hear? That kind of desperation shows they've got nothing but smoke and mirrors "reasonable" doubt. That so far seems very unreasonable.

IMO it's because the conversation was done over the phone and he cannot substantiate it. Since Leitch later became aware that the incinerator was used in a murder, he could change what he recalled of the conversation to make DM look more guilty.

IMO they probably told Leitch they were planning to use it for farm animals. The defense would aggressively block this info if they could because it would prove to the jury that they were lying about their intentions. Or, at least, it doesn't line up with what the defense WANTS to claim as to their intentions for the incinerator. :)

Edit to quote palisadesk:

@palisadesk and billandrew..Thanks for the explanation.

We do that all the time at work. We have to tell our Accountant which account the invoice is to be charged to otherwise we would have no idea what we were spending on what. I may say 50 % legal/50% business development on a restaurant receipt if we discussed legal issues surrounding a new deal that was forthcoming. Just an example. I also initial the invoices as approved.

Because he was told to? Just in case anyone noticed the incinerator had been used while maybe actually investigating SL's claims? While he was hiding out of the country just in case?

You probably use actual P.O. numbers too instead of your name? I feel sorry now for the MillardAir controller who had to deal with the new "CEO".

Just a thought on the rectangular burn site...if someone were to lay a 4' x 8' sheet of ⅛" or 3/32" sheet metal on the ground and burned items on top of it, it would make for easy cleanup afterwards and the metal would conduct the heat outwards toward the edges, leaving a defined "scorch" mark. This type of material is commonly used to build trailers and such. FWIW

But would this char the corn under it? Sheet metal with a fire on top?
I still believe this is from the almost 6' seat assembly and I think the pics are deceiving us on the actual shape and size of that site.

The invoices were exhibits from the Yukon collection. I've attached some close-ups of the writings. PowerPoint slide of all the Yukon exhibits is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2HcLKBpswT4UDdFTW1nZXA2REE/view

Can anyone make out what the crossed out account was?

Another point I'd like to make...when a casing is ejected, it travels to the right, rearward and slightly upward. It does so at a fairly high rate of speed and never at the exact same trajectory. IMO that casing could have ended up literally anywhere in that cab due to ricochet, regardless of which position it was fired from. If fired from the drivers seat, it likely bounces of the top of the rear driver's side window. If fired from directly behind the passenger, it probably bounces off the rear passenger's side window. In both scenarios, the casing hits a widow at an angle and high rate of speed. Also, the weapon could have been held at any angle, my point being that the location of that casing proves very little, if you ask me.

Thank you! Very helpful
My eyes still can not make out the other account..the scribbled over one on the middle page.

ETA: a hand writing expert will probably testify who's this is... of course, probably not Dellens tho!

GSE account ? The first letter doesn't look the same as the G in Garbage but it also doesn't look like an O as in account - so it's hard to say.
