Watching video from Brantford Bobcat dealer, near spot #Bosma phone found... So far several minutes of headlights and the sound of traffic.

  • #262
No way that gun would make loud booms! He noted the large truck going by at the same time as a reference to that I believe. MOO

It's a real gun, not a cap gun.

  • #263
Yes, I think people are underestimating the power of a .380 just because the gun itself is small.

I was watching 10 minute video very closely. Extremely dark, grainy. Lots of static noise. Could not hear big bangs. Nor could @HefCHCHNews.

It's a real gun, not a cap gun.

Google the type of gun and watch the YouTube videos of this particular type of gun being fired. Then imagine it inside a truck. Boom is not a word that comes to mind. MOO

Court just watched from 9:47 p.m. until 10:03 p.m. Two vehicles are seen coming to and then eventually leaving the area. I didn't hear any bangs, though.

Mar 8 2016 3:56 PM
Plaxton says he thought he'd see them heading in the opposite direction.

Mar 8 2016 3:56 PM
Also says the cab lights weren't on.

Mar 8 2016 3:57 PM
Plaxton says the direction they were seen driving would pass by where Bosma's phone was found.

Mar 8 2016 3:59 PM
Plaxton says he included the entire clip because some small lights can be seen in the video. "It's possible a cigarette maybe. It all indicated to me there was some activity happening around the trucks." Lights are seen at 9:55 p.m. and 9:58 p.m.

***So they did stop in this area for about 15 minutes. Matches with the phone pings.

Interesting about the apparent absence of booms.

Paxton has watched this video 30 or 40 times.

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 46s46 seconds ago
Video shows 2 vehicles arrive and park with lights near the trucks, "a cigarette or some kind of activity," according to Plaxton near trucks

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 17s18 seconds ago
I could see what may be #Bosma truck leaving the area. Running lights on.

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 16s17 seconds ago
The vehicles turn their lights off and stay for 16 min before leaving I the opposite direction. This time with running lights on.

Third time watching I hear a bang as two vehicles come into frame.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 43s44 seconds ago
Now seeing shorter clips--one of two vehicles arriving and then one of them leaving the area. #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 40s41 seconds ago
Plaxton plays the arrival of the trucks again, showing the vehicles stopping 6 seconds between them

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 51s51 seconds ago
Replaying the video and we can just make out a bang as 2 vehicles pull up & stop. #Bosma

Mar 8 2016 4:02 PM
So the two vehicles first pull in at 585 Oak Park Road in Brantford around 9:47 p.m. and then stop.

Mar 8 2016 4:03 PM
The vehicles shut off their lights, but other smaller lights can be seen afterwards.

Mar 8 2016 4:03 PM
Leitch asks if there's any way to discern what's happening there, and Plaxton says no.

***Looks like they actually stopped at the Bobcat dealer. So maybe they did pitch TB's phone out the window as they were driving past Kemira and it landed on the front lawn inside the fence.

Very, very difficult to discern what's happening in this video. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 37s37 seconds ago
While vehicles are stopped near where #Bosma phone found, footage picks up activity; lights & reflections. Not distinct

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 46s47 seconds ago
Plaxton pointing out small lights or reflections he noticed moving in area of vehicles throughout the video. #Bosma

This is fascinating stuff!!!! You have to believe DM and MS are sitting there with their mind's blown. I'm sure they knew what evidence was going to be presented after being briefed by their lawyers but to find out that all of these activities were recorded? Why stop in front of ANY business in this day and age. Even home owners are starting to install surveillance. MOO

So was the witness being a little overzealous by describing the sound as a BOOM?

  • #275
I don't know about everyone else but I can't wait to see these videos.

Possibly but we won't know for sure until we see the tapes.

I think we're going to watch again. #Bosma

Probably this time with the volume turned up for the jurors. Wonder what DM's demeanour is like right now? MOO.

At 9:49, the tail lights on the second vehicle are illuminated just for a moment. At 10:01 p.m., the lights of the second vehicle are extinguished and the tail lights of the first come back on. A three point turn is made and the two vehicles leave.

Mar 8 2016 4:12 PM
Plaxton says one vehicle has overhead running lights, and there are reflections on the wheels that suggest reflective rims, which is consistent with Bosma's vehicle. The second vehicle is more difficult, Plaxton says. He says it's likely the second vehicle trailing the truck is around the height of an SUV.

Mar 8 2016 4:12 PM
I know this is all very complicated. I'm hoping it will become more clear once this exhibit is released -- but I doubt it will be today.

Could the booms not just be the vehicle doors closing? It sounds like they stopped and had a cigarette, and maybe moved the body around and talked about what they had to do next.

ETA: it seems a bit early to conclude that the "Brantford booms" were gunshots.

We've seen many instances where DM wasn't too bright in carrying out this crime. I'm only speculating, but I have to wonder if TB was first shot when they picked up the Yukon and it only incapacitated him. Perhaps DM thought he was dead and near where they pulled over, DM realized he wasn't dead. MOO.
