Not long after that incinerator that didn't work well was made, the decision was made to buy The Eliminator. "Why is it you were looking to purchase the Eliminator?" Fraser asks. "Dell had mentioned to me that he talked to his uncle ... and Dell was interested in purchasing this unit to start a business of cremating deceased animals from the veterinarians. He thought he could help his uncle out and possibly pick up other business from other veterinarians in the area." Schlatman says Millard told him he talked with his uncle about this.

Millard's uncle denied any conversation like this happened:

Ah, there it is. I was starting to wonder if SS was going to provide some solid proof the thing ever was really used for garbage.

"There was a lot of garbage produced from [his] properties, so he wanted a way of getting rid of it quicker and cheaper," Schlatman says.

Appears to be three 50 gallon drums stacked on top of each other.

We rented once from a man who had several other rentals and he would routinely bring junk to the property (left behind furniture, and other household items) and burn it all in a giant burn pit. So, I guess DM wouldn't be the only landlord who does/did this. Pretty sure it's also 100% illegal, unless you've got a burn permit (which I know my landlord didn't have, and highly doubt DM did either).

Fraser now asking about the excavator that was found in the back swamp. Schlatman says Millard told him he was "out fooling around, having a good time," when he seized the engine
The excavator was eventually driven out of the swamp after Millard's arrest
Fraser now asking about the purchase of The Eliminator -- the incinerator in which bones were found on the farm.
Court now seeing a photo of a long green drum inside the hangar. Schlatman says he built it
The photo is from Schlatman's phone.
The device was built in late 2011 early 2012, "before we considered the Eliminator," he says. Adds that it was Millard's idea to build "an incinerator for burning off garbage."
Millard tried using it, he says, but it "didn't work very well."

So DM had a homemade incinerator built to burn garbage and it didn't work well. So then he went out and bought a $15,000 Animal Cremator to burn garbage because that was a cheaper option for getting rid of garbage. And somewhere in all of this, DM has an idea to go into business with his uncle cremating pets. Hmmmm??? You know, when you LIE, you get caught up in those lies eventually because you can't keep it all straight.

This is beyond interesting.

(Court has heard from Millard's uncle Robert Burns they never had such a conversation. Had no intention of going into biz with DM). #Bosma

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 1m1 minute ago Vaughan, Ontario
Schlatman says the unit he built - the home-made incinerator - was for garbage, not animals. He says he does not know what happened to it.

Gives new meaning to "garbage account"

Who Knows - probably was initially intended for that purpose (Burning Garbage) so they could get rid of stolen items perhaps - then they came up with other ideas after the fact. IMO

That test burn took about 6 hours. Start at 400 degrees and slowly turn it up over time. #Bosma

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 12s13 seconds ago Vaughan, Ontario
Schlatman says there was difficulty with the initial burn test. Wouldn't burn properly. They got an automative tank, then it worked #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 12s13 seconds ago
Did test burn inside hangar, moved to outside when it got really hot. Took 6 hours, starting at 400 F, adding 200 every hour.
