Either SS is telling half truths or he was completely oblivious (and not very bright). IMO.

I'm with you 100%. We also know now that SS GOT NO DEAL, wasn't charged etc. etc. so that conversation can end.

Schlatman says he showed Millard how to use The Eliminator. "I showed him how to fire it up."
by Adam Carter 11:21 AM

There was some difficulty in doing the test burn, Schlatman says. They were originally using BBQ tanks.
by Adam Carter 11:22 AM

Schlatman says he built the trailer the Eliminator was found on. "Dell said he wanted it mobile."

Schlatman did test burn then showed #Millard how to use the Eliminator. Only an automotive propane tank would work properly. #Bosma

"They said that would be the first one they had ever seen -- so it was not a normal thing."
by Adam Carter 11:24 AM

The test burn was done in the middle of August or early Sept of 2012, Schlatman says.
by Adam Carter 11:25 AM

The trailer cost about $8K out of Millard's pocket, on top of $15K for The Eliminator. "Once it left the hangar I had only ever seen it at the farm property," Schlatman says.
by Adam Carter 11:26 AM

***Where is the questions "Was any garbage ever burned in it?" When did it leave the hangar? What garbage was at the farm?

Trailer cost about $8,000. #Bosma

After it left the hangar, only ever saw The Eliminator at the farm. Either inside or behind the barn. #Bosma

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 22s23 seconds ago Vaughan, Ontario
Schlatman says once the Eliminator was put on the trailer, he only ever saw it again at the barn #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 15s16 seconds ago
Cost $8,000 for trailer parts. Paid by Millard. Trailer kept in barn or behind it on Millard farm.

^ $15k + $8k = $23k for something to park out where there's no hydro and no garbage?

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 14s15 seconds ago
Total cost of the Eliminator with trailer was $23,000 Schlatman said

yeah, right ;)

ETA: that's why he was able to tell the dealer that the afterburners sound so great right away, right?

Millard's uncle denied any conversation like this happened:
Millard bought the Eliminator on his credit card, Schlatman says.
Schlatman says Millard told him about the plan to go into the pet cremation business about a week before contacting the rep for The Eliminator
Schlatman was the one who dealt with the sale, but Millard was the one giving direction, he says
Schlatman says there had to be a "test burn" before the unit is used regularly. "You do a burn process on it where you raise the temperature slowly over hours."
Schlatman did the "break in burn," he says
Schlatman says he showed Millard how to use The Eliminator. "I showed him how to fire it up."

Whoa, SS never saw the eliminator at the hangar again? We saw pictures of the Eliminator on the trailer in the hangar with 2 dogs running around. If he's working 12 hour days, how did he miss that?

Ok, maybe the contact was in August after all.

So first in late 2011, DM asked SS to build him an incinerator for garbage. SS built a makeshift one out of steel barrels, like a lot of people do. In fact, a lot of people actually have burn barrels for garbage. But the makeshift incinerators people build work just as well...for garbage. DM tried the one SS built and it didn't suit his purpose, whatever that may have been. So he asks SS to look for an incinerator to purchase. SS looks for commercial ones for garbage and then DM tells him no..he wants one for animals because he's going into the pet cremation business with his Uncle.

I sense that Schlatman will fill in some of the gaps but he is not interested in putting his "friend" away and dropping the hammer. I really believe he is telling half truths. I think that's a good way to explain what is going on.

I would love to know what DM's demeanor is like today? I didn't hear that he waved to Shane.

ETA: that's why he was able to tell the dealer that the afterburners sound so great right away, right?

He said he fired it up to do the test but wasn't able to complete due to the tank. Acquiring the automotive tank and installing may have taken time.

Lets remember here that the prosecution doesn't SS to lie here. If he's lying, Millard's lawyer will know it and will make him look like a fool. If SS was involved, he'd be in jail, plain and simple. I think he may have suspected some illegal activities but simply turned his head in able to keep what was probably a pretty decent gig. I don't think he actually partook in anything illegal. Majorly illegal anyways.

Ok, maybe the contact was in August after all.

That contact was to get another copy of the invoice though. So obviously there was contact prior to that about them having difficulty with it, apparently due to using 20lb BBQ propane tanks for it? I don't think we heard when the "test burn" was done?

So the DIY incinerator is missing?

I would really like to see an invoice (and purchase date) on that automotive tank.
