Maybe true for SS, since he had actual skills. But I'm really not sure. It seems DM really was a cheapskate in some ways. And wasn't that other guy (Hussey) only making $12/hour?

Seems DM was quite cheap but SS said he left his previous position with National to work for DM so I would assume that he was paying at least what SS made there (whatever that may be). I don't know too many people who are getting paid a certain amount and willing to leave it all behind for less, especially with a family to take care of.

But stranger things certainly have happened.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 3m3 minutes ago
He new Jennings called Crime Stoppers. Schlatman said he didn't call police, wanted to talk to Dell. Police asked questions.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 3m3 minutes ago
Crown asks why not. SS: I wanted to talk to Dell that day. But then the police showed up...it was kind of not needed at that pt. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 3m3 minutes ago
Schlatman wasn't surprised police showed because he knew from father in law, who called Crimestoppers, that truck in hangar was #TimBosma's

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 3m3 minutes ago
After they spoke to DM, police spoke to SS for 15 mins or so. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 3m3 minutes ago
Crown asked about what, but Pillay objected. Crown moves on. Police were in uniform. Schlatman says he never talked to Dell about truck.

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 3m3 minutes ago Vaughan, Ontario

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 3m3 minutes ago
Police talked to Millard for an hour or more. After they left, Schlatman spoke to Millard. "He said he hadn't done anything wrong."

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 3m3 minutes ago Vaughan, Ontario
"My head was in a blur, with everything I had seen" Schlatman tells the jury #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 3m3 minutes ago
After police had left, DM had fired Art. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 3m3 minutes ago
Schlatman says "my brain was in a blur" because of everything that happened with his father-in-law, who was fired by Millard.

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 3m3 minutes ago Vaughan, Ontario
After police left, Millard fired Art Jennings, the gentleman who called Crimestoppers about the truck discovered in the hangar #Bosma

hmmmm strange

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 3m3 minutes ago Vaughan, Ontario
Art Jennings is Schlatman's father in law, btw #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Schlatman asked if Millard fired Jennings for going to Crime Stoppers? No, he didn't say that.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
SS says he didn't tell DM that Art had contacted crime stoppers.

Crown: did DM say anything to you about him speaking to CS? #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
SS: not directly, no.
Crown: so no explanation came from DM at time as to firing of Art?
SS: no. #Bosma

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 2m2 minutes ago Vaughan, Ontario
Schlatman says he has not spoken with Art Jennings, since just after 'it happened.' #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago

Wow. Why in the world not?? AJ had nothing to do with this. This doesn't make sense.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Schlatman didn't press Millard for more info. Talked about the red truck instead.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 47s48 seconds ago
After police left there was discussion of moving the red pickup from the hangar. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 32s33 seconds ago
After cops leave, Millard says he wants red truck moved. Removing windshield from a truck gives access to VIN plate.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 39s40 seconds ago
The truck was sometimes at the hangar, Schlatman says. Guys doing work on his properties would sometimes use it for work. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 26s26 seconds ago
SS says DM said he wanted to have a vehicle outside the hangar in case he hangar was locked down. #Bosma

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 8s8 seconds ago Vaughan, Ontario
Crown is now asking Schlatman about a RED truck, and removing its windshield. Crown says if that would give mechanic access to VIN number.

Wow. Why in the world not?? AJ had nothing to do with this. This doesn't make sense.

Yah this is a real head scratcher to say the least. Maybe he felt like AJ had lost him his easy-peasy, good paying job? MOO

Wow. Why in the world not?? AJ had nothing to do with this. This doesn't make sense.

It does if you consider AJ no longer wanted to speak with SS due to his continued involvement with DM....he said they weren't speaking, but not which side put up the wall first.

  • #233
Something isn't adding up.....DM fires his father in law and SS doesn't ask why?!?! And they haven't spoken since his arrest? Colour me confused....

  • #234
molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
SS texted a friend who lived nearby. Asked if he could park it there. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Millard wanted truck moved in case hangar was "locked down" by police. Schlatman texted friend Micah Beatty to ask if truck could be stored.

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 40s40 seconds ago Vaughan, Ontario
This is the same RED truck the two men travelled to Baja, Mexico in #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 24s25 seconds ago
After speaking to police for about an hour, #Millard had Schlatman help him move red truck "in case hangar was locked down."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 4s5 seconds ago
Dell drove the truck, SS followed in his minivan. Dell dropped off the truck behind the house & SS drove them both back to the hangar #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 19s19 seconds ago
Says DM said he was then going to go to the bank and talk to his lawyer. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 23s23 seconds ago
Millard dropped red truck at Beatty's, behind house. Schlatman drives Millard back to hangar. Millard going to bank and lawyer.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 13s13 seconds ago
SS learned of his arrest after the fact. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 17s18 seconds ago
That was last time Schlatman saw Millard, who was arrested later that night.

  • #235
So, no jail visits by SS to DM?

IF DM wanted a truck outside the hangar in case it was locked down...why did he not literally park the truck outside the hangar?

  • #236
Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 59s59 seconds ago
Then #Millard was off to bank and lawyers. Jury has seen police surveillance of this. #Millard arrested after

Shannon Martin ‏@ShannonMartinTV 50s50 seconds ago Vaughan, Ontario
Crown is now finished with Schlatman #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Eliminator powered by propane and a generator. #Bosma Jury dismissed for the day. Legal arguments now.

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 55s56 seconds ago
Jury going home for the day so lawyers can have legal arguments

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 55s56 seconds ago
That's all the evidence the jury will hear today. They and Schlatman are dismissed until tmrw a.m. #Bosma

  • #237
this is not adding up..if SS felt DM was involved in something, why even help him move the truck? He had to know by the police showing up and AJ being fired DM was into this big time..why not walk out and go to police..why be involved in hiding his red truck in case the hangar gets locked down? pfft right!!!!

  • #238
Something isn't adding up.....DM fires his father in law and SS doesn't ask why?!?! And they haven't spoken since his arrest? Colour me confused....

Yep, WHY would be the first thing I'd want to know. Seems rather odd SS never asked & just continued on with odd jobs like moving trucks as in business as usual.

My guess is he didn't realize he was under surveillance and didn't think the police would find the truck where they put it.....but why did he want it away from the hangar? Get away vehicle? Evidence he wanted to hide?

I think he was mind-boggled because he could not comprehend the truth of the situation. DM left SS with the impression that he bought a hot truck in Kitchener, and flippantly says "what truck?" once the heat turns on. SS likely thought his rich friend made a bad buy.
