I find this whole "someone I work with set me up" thing pretty interesting since we all seem to be very aware of how few people actually worked with him. I feel like that really leaves only a small handful of people he could blame for this so called "set up" IMO ... Really limiting options ... No?

I wonder how SS feels about hearing this today!!!!

Okay so Richard Fox said back on Day 11 that he had heard that DM bought the red truck in 2008 or 2009. The officer today stated that it was purchased in May 2011.

Here's the thread where that testimony starts...

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?300950-Bosma-Murder-Trial-02-18-16-Day-11/page9

DM's attorney even confirmed that year...

Sachak now asking about when Millard told him about the 2005 truck he had bought back in 2009.
Adam Carter

So what's up with the 3 year difference? Just a mistake on the part of the witness and DM's attorney? :waitasec:

I'm thinking AJ is being referred to as the one who 'set up' DM.

I'm thinking it was SS. SS's name was involved in ordering the Eliminator and calling about burnings. SS worked on TB's truck, taking off the emblems etc. DM had SS pretty closely involved in a murder case!!!

Night of May 9, 2013 she asks how his day is. Next morning he replies "stress filled."

Well what does DM expect after ya just murdered and incinerated a guy. Geeeze.

I really want to know who " Scotty" is too. I think they are speaking in code when she says Scotty is back, but "sick", and DM says " do me a favour, let him know I'm too hot, stay away. "

We have all heard about stolen goods being "hot" . In my opinion they are talking about some criminal, or criminal organization, they have in common. "Sick" might mean that "Scotty" ( beam me up, get me out of here ??? ) is unable to act, and DM says tell him to stay away at this time, because I am too hot ( police are aware of criminal activity, and are watching him, as well as those connected to him. ) I am beginning to have the feeling that DM was deeply involved in some kind of criminal network, and his "friends, employees, and business associates" were too. God only knows what this bunch was really up to, but I hope it all comes to light. I assume the Defense prevented The Crown from asking who Scotty is, and having the relationships to him/her/it ( if it is an organization ) revealed. That could be what a lot of the legal arguments are about. It seems like we are on the verge of opening Pandora's Box, but so far the Defense is managing to sit on the lid.

I am really having doubts about the level of involvement of MB, the Mother of DM. She seems to have been very willing to take over the Hangar, rent out space, and pay off people who could incriminate her son. The trailer with TB's bloody truck was parked in her driveway. How much did she really know ? Was WM's death quite beneficial for her financially ? Why is she not in court ? Is The Crown keeping her away because she would be obviously supportive of DM ? If they make her one of the very last witnesses, she could not be in court before she testifies. Talk about only seeing the tip of an iceberg ! IMO

who is Scotty? He's obviously sending out a warning that the cops are on to him?

I hope there's a presentation of the text messages from today. At first the tweets read as if he told her he was set up the night of the 6th. When was it really? The 10th? Made no sense when I was reading it back when I got home.

I think he met AJ. AJ was the one who called CrimeStoppers. And I think that's why SS was mad after the family meeting with AJ. SS thought DM bought a hot truck. AJ thought DM stole it himself.

That would be a weird choice since SS was still on the payroll after the fact.

Bingo! DM was trying to "sell paper". Goes something like this. He buys a property, in this case it was a condo in the pre-construction or construction phase. He puts down 10 or 20% of the purchase price- whatever the Builder required. Kind of looks like DM was going to have some problems coming up with the rest of the cash to close the deal and he got LW to list it for sale. She may have been getting into trouble because she was selling a unit for someone who didn't own it yet. Once he had a cash offer on the place, DM could take the offer to the bank and get bridge financing on it. Many pre-construction sales like this cannot be assigned to another Buyer- meaning the Builder would want DM to close it. Looks like the builder was pushing him and looks like he came up with the money in the nick of time! MOO

It sure does put a different slant on everything .... his net proceeds would only be the spread between his (paper) purchase price and the selling price , less his bank charges , broker fees , and legal costs ..... heck of a difference than what were were lead to believe (DM's first lawyer) who said DM owned numerous properties that were all paid for.

HAAAA .... side note .... the one thing I never expected was the Soap Opera aspects of this case .... what turned out to be a boring day at trial has got the news world all abuzz.

I have never watched a soap opera in my life but today I came really really close

DM's plan, didn't happen, everything unfolded rather quickly before DM could blame the set up on SS. Therefore, payoff SS to get him on DM's side. JMO

I believe they are bunch of scheming criminals too. Into different "games". But I don't think the Crown wants to bring any of it up for various reasons.
In the case of DM, is a charming doofus-like player capable of a premeditated murder? Or was some of his criminal activity stepping on some other criminal's toes? It's a legit question. JMO

  • #292
Hahahaha another nail in the premeditation coffin? May 1st for 10 days? Looks like DM had grand plans for that first week in May and just didn't want LW to be bugging him for bootie calls or condo talk?? MOO

Bingo! Exactamundo.

I'm not sure those texts were on the 9th or the 10th, here's Adam Carter's tweets: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?303362-Bosma-Murder-Trial-03-22-16-Day-25&p=12426729#post12426729

Night of May 9, 2013 she asks how his day is. Next morning he replies "stress filled." ie those texts were on the afternoon of the 10th, when LE was closing in.

Okay Molly Hayes makes more sense out of that text exchange...

She says "I would like to hear about it and see if I could offer some insight or help." #Bosma

She says they never had a conversation after this. She did text him after he was arrested. #Bosma

The exchange started at 11:19pm on the 9th and moved into the 10th, the day he was arrested. LE had already visited the hangar when he sent his "hot" text. This was at 3:55pm just before he moved the red truck.

I believe Scotty was referred to as a "mutual friend" of theirs. Seems odd that people with a casual "friends with benefits" non relationship have a mutal friend that DM warns to stay away from the hangar.

So he started his "someone other dude did it and set me up" defense on the 10th after LE had paid him a visit?

Hey, you couldn't make up this stuff if you tried:juggling:

Perhaps by the 9th he was getting spooked by the way the case was taking off and he knew it was going to be next to impossible to pass off TB's truck as his own as he was involving too many people. So the whole plan was aborted and he went into CYA mode. Do you really think he had anyone in mind yet when he claimed "someone he worked with was setting him up"? You have to remember how these sociopaths work. They keep lying on the fly...even when it makes no sense.

MOO

I'm less drawn by the someone he worked with comment and more by the hard shift from casually hiding the truck in plain sight to seeming to be preparing her for something big, public and unavoidable. I just can't remember what he could have known by that time on Monday. When the 'Ambition' press conference was etc.

The deal might have been a long time in the making. He might have put down a 10% deposit a couple years earlier, but by the time he had to come up with the full price, the family 'coffers had been drained', as he had apparently complained in Oct 2012.

The $3.7 million loan would have cost tens of thousands of dollars a month, depending on the terms. There was absolutely no money coming in.

Perhaps it was at that time that he secured the RBC loan against the Maple Gate property, instead of the hangar/non-existent business.

So who was DM setting up to be the one who broke into his house and stole some of his stuff? I don't suppose he called the police on that theft? Why would he? He's rich so he doesn't need his stuff back right? His house appeared to be a revolving door flop house for a bunch of people. Was this just another one of those random lies that don't make sense and don't fit into the overall "some other dude did it" defense he was hastily trying to come up with?

All that is missing from this case is surprise pregnancies, thankfully!
