Kudos to MsSherlock for the term: Dell's "Stepford Friends" :D

If anyone is wondering if SS will reflect and learn, in his own words above, SS basically is dismissive about the mistakes he's made and expects to make them again. My goodness, one would think he'd know better than to appear so incredibly flippant! SS does not appear to grasp the gravity of the situation, at all, IMO - OR (lol) - perhaps he does and that is his strong motivation to lie in order to protect himself and his fearless leader from having to face any consequences. LE's investigation into stolen items (vehicles/trailers/etc?) at the hangar is ongoing and SS will likely receive more visits in that regard from LE, and possibly charges in future, IMO. Oh dear...

I recall that it was reported and posted here that SS was also interviewed by LE for about 15 minutes on the same day as DM was at the hangar - does anyone else recall this? I don't have a link and don't know how to search old posts - but IIRC, it's curious IMO that no one brought up today in court what SS and LE discussed that day. I believe it was on May 10th.

All MOO.

SS was questioned after DM on the 10th. This Was asked during SS'S first appearance and was objected by Pillay.
Yeah for TD for asking this today :) That 15 mins was in regards to the Harley and the Bob cat at the hanger. Both were reported stolen and of course...SS did not know!

ok......dumb it down for me......do we have lawyers who represent people who can't afford to pay for a lawyer and is TD one of these? I just don't remember reading that the tax payers were paying for TD. I may have missed it......

Yes. Legal aid lawyers. If you go to the FLIC office at most major courthouses, you can see and possibly retain duty counsel (FLIC- being family law information centre).

I wonder if AJ was in court today to watch his S-I-L?

I get the sense that AJ wants to steer clear of this trial and SS altogether, IMO. I feel for AJ as he must worry, IMO, about the influence SS has with his daughter and grandkids. I do wonder though, had DM not fired AJ, would AJ have stayed employed as did SS for MA after DM's arrest had he been given that opportunity?

Although AJ did call CS, he wouldn't tell them where TB's truck was, so while he did better than SS by far, he too did nothing more until DM was arrested. At least AJ said he felt scared of what may happen to him or his family if he told LE, and for that concern, I do feel compassion for him. SS didn't assert that he had any such fear. IMO, AJ does feel remorse for choosing silence when it could have helped had he spoke to LE, and he may well wish now that he had acted more honourably as soon as he knew it was TB's truck in the hangar. Sadly, regrets cannot change the past and both AJ and SS will forever have to live with their decisions.

All MOO.

If SS hung on from the time that WM died (Nov 2012) to the time that the hangar was sold (April 2015)...that's 29 months.

From DM's arrest to the hangar sale it is 19 months, or from DM's perspective, about $100k in wages. I don't think DM feels that he got good value. He was smirking and chuckling according to the reporters at the day's start...but fell silent by the end of SS's testimony, and they did not look at each other when SS left.

Expensive gamble.

Legal aid can cover ALL depending on financial situation. HOWEVER, they do have a cap for each case.

 • #366
You can also have assets, but be cash poor and put a lien on the value of your legal aid certificate granted.

Thank you but I'm still not sure when LE interviewed SS about the stolen things. I suspect the stolen items were not mentioned to him until after DM's arrest. I would have liked to have heard precisely what LE asked him on May 10th and what his answers to their questions were because I think today's mention about the Bobcat and Harley stemmed from a later and separate investigation, IMO.

You may be right in your interpretation though. I'd just like to be sure and from today's testimony by SS it's not 100% clear to me.

All MOO.

ETA Specifically, I would like to know if LE asked SS questions about TB, his truck, and his knowledge of both. I'd also like to know what SS said on May 10th about DM if he was asked by LE.

I am curious "paint cans" in the "Hanger image of Bosma truck on tarp".

If you are going to debadge a vehicle for "Paint" I suspect one would need 3M adhesive remover, some people subscribe to WD-40 or Naptha. I think that is what we see in the image, cans of WD-40.

I've looked into debadging portions of my vehicle.

tools required
Heat gun and or fishing line some use both.
3M adhesive remover or WD-40.

Google "debadge WD-40"

Napper505

shows how easy it should be on a newer Dodge RAM

In the context of this photo, and evidence - I'm kind of wondering just how expert the witness is.

The Walther PPK is a hand-gun of German origin, designed in the mid-1930's. Movie-buff's will also recognize it as the signature piece of the James Bond 007 character.

It's a small framed hand-gun, designed to be pocketable. Kurz is a German word for Short. In reference to German armaments, it can either refer to the weapon itself, being "short", or snub-nosed .. and to the ammo used itself.. the casing or brass being a shortened version of a regular-sized calibre of ammunition.

Example for ammunition - the K98 Battle rifle used in both WW1 and WW2 used a 7.92 calibre cartridge, in a long rifle-sized casing. The first German sub-machine pistols/assault rifles in WW2 used a shortened case version of the 7.92 calibre cartridge called the Kurz cartridge. In effect, a pistol-sized casing and powder load, with a rifle sized projectile.

All IMHO, egg-headed interest in WW2 armaments personal knowledge applied.

BUBM - What's your point? It's not clear to me why you're wondering about JP's expertise. Did she get something wrong during her testimony or you're just wondering and providing us this the above information re: Walther PPK's appearance, ammunition and history? TIA and MOO.

side note: does LB have her own thread?! No amount of googling has helped me find one for her. She's just linked to TBs thread.

Kind of rich coming from a guy who is probably making around $500/hour and gets to bill for every paper clip he uses.

TD's fees could be increasing to $800/hr after this trial completes... SS pwned by TD... :toast:

Perhaps i quoted the wrong post - the Expert Witness was testifying to the effect that she didn't know/couldn't tell whether the weapon in question was small, medium, or large. She's directly commented on the word "Kurz" as being compared to what the description of a Walther PPK would be, with the photos showing, seemingly without knowing what the significance of "Kurz" means - describing in the German language the type of Weapon it is - short, snub-nosed, small, concealable. The PPK was initially marketed in Germany and abroad as a Woman's pistol - easily gripped with a small hand. It's as if she had photo comparators only, without any background information on the weapon in question.

The Walther PPK is a fairly original design, and very distinct in appearance. There may be many hand-gun configurations, but relatively few that closely resemble this.

To a geek like me, the answers are fairly obvious, and relevant to the weapon shown in the photos... but MO.

She can't determine actual dimensions of gun from photo. She does not know Walther PPK dimensions "off the top of my head."

Jury seeing photo of walther PPK held by twho fingers. Print matched to DM. @AM900CHML #TimBosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 4m4 minutes ago
Able to find overall length: 155 mm. (6 inches)

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 4m4 minutes ago
Fraser asks about length/height of Walther PPK. Plath says length is approx 500mm (just over 6 in). Doesn't know height offhand. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 4m4 minutes ago
Fraser asks how that factors as a handgun, large or small. Plath says hard to say bc so many different guns are available. #Bosma

Crown is done. Now Ravin Pillay for Millard. #Bosma

MS's family members are not entitled nor do I believe they can be held responsible to pay MS's legal fees. If MS does not have the financial means to cover costs of a lawyer, he is entitled to have one appointed to him, or he may have chosen one and made request for legal aid to pay for Dungey. I suspect he was approved for legal aid and Dungey is being paid with taxpayers money. MOO.

Wow! Trying to find the 15 mins part and finding lots of contradicting testimony.

Someone asked earlier "didn't SS testify to DM purchasing the truck in Kitchener?" Yes he did testify to that March 21st (as per Adam Carter)

Now looking at texts from Tuesday, May 7. Schlatman says he didn't go to work that day because Millard texted him telling him not to because of "airport politics"
this s when SS and wife went to get new phones

Adam Carter has "SS tried to take windshield out of the Red Dodge on the 7th" ...is this a typo?

This was also the first time he had used one. He says he started to try on May 7, but "had no luck and just gave up."

Millard had left by that point on May 7, Schlatman says, but he didn't know where he went.

Maybe why he was confused on all his days? Cuz he was there All Week?

The date of May 7th was a mistake or typo by AC. It was pointed out by members and clarified here at the time. HTH.

Why would SS question DM about the cement mixer, the wood chipper and the Bobcat? Don'tcha know Dungey, they were to serve a purpose when the two of them were gonna build their dream house on the farmland. They needed the wood chipper for clearing the swamp trees, the excavator and Bobcat for digging for the foundation and the cement mixer for forming the foundation...oh bother. MOO.

Cement mixer appeared at hangar also.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 9h9 hours ago
One day a wood chipper showed up. "He's the rich guy with the money. I figured there'd be a purpose for it somewhere," says Schlatman.

After Millard's arrest, things changed. Madeleine burns (DM's mother) was running things as what appeared to be an FBO. #Bosma

Susan ClairmontVerified account ‏@susanclairmont 1h1 hour ago
Millardair had appearance of a Fixed Base Operation for airplanes to stay short-term was wasn't licensed for it.

^ Just thinking on these two tweets today. TD took pains to show that there was no aviation business going on and only DM's toys were being worked on. Was the FBO part of the cover story? Was MB trying to make it look like it had been an FBO, and not a chop shop, all along? If LE are still investigating, how does this fit in?

BBM
If they were not licensed for a FBO and did anyway: How serious was this? Is this a fine-able situation? Would MB have known that this was a no-no? (and if so, I would say that the apple didn't fall far from the tree--doing things just cause they want to with no regard to rules and regulations. ) Absolutely no disrespect to MB here..just asking a question and making an observation.

My imagination takes me to all kinds of scary places when I think of the types of equipment DM had in his possession. I hope and pray that he is never again anywhere near the public because I have no doubt that he had nefarious plans to use these things to help eliminate problem people and to help get rid of any evidence, IMO.

All MOO.
