Dungey asks how Millard made Michalski feel safe. "He had money."

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski says Millard projected a persona "he had money, he could protect me if anything happened" #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
"He had money, he could protect me." Millard never actually said that, but Michalski believed that.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Re: Millard's influence, Michalski said he had money and would protect him. That was the feeling he got from Millard. #Bosma

“He had money, he could protect me. I was confident he would do that for me," Michalski says.
by Adam Carter 11:08 AM

"So he could do anything, he was invincible? He could protect those around him who would do this thieving?" Dungey asks. "That's correct," Michalski says.

Michalski says Millard never said it but he felt it through Millard's financial generosity #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey; money wouldn't have been an object for you. You came from a good home.
Michalski; we weren't wealthy but I had whatever I needed.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Says he works for whatever he has now, too. #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski was hard working, on the straight and narrow before he met Millard #Bosma

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 2m2 minutes ago
AM says DM had strong influence on him. He was on straight and narrow before. And his influence changed that @AM900CHML #timbosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski wasn't in it for money. "I had everything that I needed." He is also hard working. Millard's influence over him lasted 6 years.

  • #24
molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey: and then all of a sudden you come under the influence of Mr Millard...this lasted a while didn't it.
Michalski: about 6 yrs. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski says #Millard influence lasted about six years. #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey suggests part of the influence was the "perks" (trips, cars, parties etc). Michalski agrees. #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 2m2 minutes ago
Millard's influence over him lasted about six years Michalski says, a lot of it was the "perks:" cars, money, helicopter, pool

Michalski says he didn't really want to do surveillance to steal the Bobcat in 2012. "It was only because of Mr. Millard, correct?" Dungey asks. "That's correct," Michalski says.
by Adam Carter 11:10 AM

"His persona is he can do anything outside the law, correct?" Dungey asks. Pillay objects.
by Adam Carter 11:11 AM

Michalski agrees that it "ticked him off" when Millard says he was planning to steal a truck. "In your mind, why do you think he does this?" Dungey asks. "For the thrill of it," Michalski says.
by Adam Carter 11:12 AM

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 2m2 minutes ago
The fact he projected the image of invincibility Michalski felt Millard could protect him, he says #Bosma

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey- DM could do anything. He was invincible. Witness agrees. @AM900CHML #timbosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey: and because of this bonding...leads to your arrest for first degree murder.
Michalski: yes sir. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
"Because of this bonding, it all leads to your arrest on first degree murder charge?" That's right, Michalski says.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey suggests re: bobcat that Michalski didn't really want to do it, that it was bc of friendship. Michalski agrees. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Bonding leads to Michalski's arrest for first degree murder...Michalski didn't really want to act as lookout in Bobcat theft.

  • #27
Dungey's approach to AM seems radically different than his approach to MH.
I wonder if it will stay that way? I keep waiting for the hammer to fall...

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Dungey: when Millard tells you who should I steal a truck from, the nice guy or the *******, you told him to **** off.
Michalski: yes.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
When Millard asks if he should steal truck from ******* or nice guy, Michalski tells him to **** off because Millard didn't need to steal.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey: "I suggest when Millard tells you which guy to steal from, the nice guy or a-hole, you say F off because it's not in your nature."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski: he didn't need to steal a truck.
Dungey; it's just his persona, that he can do anything. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Pillay objects. Dungey rephrases. #Bosma

When Michalski was given the question "who should I steal from, the nice guy or the *******" he was ticked off #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey: it goes back to persona, and you're ticked off. Why does this guy with all this $..why does he have to go steal off somebody a truck

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski was angry at Millard for planning theft of truck. Why did Millard do it? "For the thrill of it." #Bosma

Dungey: he doesn't say things have gone wrong...things are just swell with him.
Michalski: that's correct. #Bosma

IMO, I kind of see now how DM was nervous for AM to testify. AM is seeing now who DM really was and the influence he had. He is throwing him directly under the bus right now by saying he was persuasive and people did things for him that they didn't want to do.
