Millard responds "I'm not sure you're up for my methods." Michalski says he assumed he was talking about illegal activity.
by Adam Carter 11:24 AM

Millard responds "hard work is one thing, scary work is another, and the law is very intimidating."
by Adam Carter 11:25 AM

"it could have been anything from a drug deal to stealing another Bobcat," Michalski says in court.
by Adam Carter 11:25 AM

:notgood: Wow. How were these not shown by the Crown yesterday?? Very damning texts from DM, IMO.

At time Michalski was giving statement, Millard charged with forcible confinement and theft of #Bosma truck. Not yet charged with murder.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 29s30 seconds ago
Dungey: when they first ask you for relevant info about may 4, why didn't you tell them?
Michalski: I was scared. #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 56s56 seconds ago
Michalski didn't come clean with police because he was scared #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 52s52 seconds ago
Dungey asks if part of it was trying to protect Millard. Michalski agrees it could've been. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 44s44 seconds ago
"When they first ask you about relevant information, why didn't you say anything?" I was scared says Michalski.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Michalski admits he wanted to protect Millard. #Bosma

 • #63
At the time when Michalski was arrested, Millard was under arrest for theft and forcible confinement, not yet for murder.
by Adam Carter 11:33 AM

Dungey asks why Michalski didn't tell them the truth at the start. Again, Michalski says he was scared.
by Adam Carter 11:33 AM

Michalski left out Millard stealing the truck when he originally talked to police.
by Adam Carter 11:35 AM

I find it interesting that AM was arrested for first degree murder, but DM's charges had not yet been upgraded to murder.

 • #64
molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Dungey: you wanted to see where this was going.
Michalski: correct. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 48s48 seconds ago
Part of it may have been wanting to protect Millard, Michalski agrees. He wanted to see where the police interview was going.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
He doesn't initially tell them anything about May 4.
Michalski agrees he didn't. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 54s55 seconds ago
Police asked him about May 4 and 5 and Michalski tells them nothing.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 41s42 seconds ago
And same, doesn't say anything re: May 5. Dungey suggests again it's because he's scared and trying to protect Millard. Yes. #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 25s26 seconds ago
Michalski was intimidated, scared and wanted to protect Millard and that's why he resisted the police questions #TimBosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 9s10 seconds ago
Dungey turning now to the text where Millard says he needs "about 100,000 a month and I'll be out of the hole"

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 9s10 seconds ago
#Millard texts: "I'm not sure you're up for my methods." Dungey asks what that means. "Illegal activity," Michalski explains

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 10s10 seconds ago
Millard: "I'm not sure if you're up for my methods/hard work is one thing, scary work is another, and the law is very intimidating."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 13s14 seconds ago
Michalski says "let's do it." #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 43s43 seconds ago
Millard also said "not sure if you're up to my methods" and mentioned "scary work" and "the kw is very intimidating." #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 38s38 seconds ago
Millard: "I'm not sure if you're up for my methods...hard work is one thing, scary work is another and the law is very intimidating." #Bosma

Someone help me here...why did the Crown not introduce these text messages?

 • #66
molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 48s49 seconds ago
He left out - for both may 4 and 5 - the facts about the stealing of the truck. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 44s45 seconds ago
Police asked great detail about May 4-5 and Michalski left out pertinent fact of #Millard stealing a truck.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 26s27 seconds ago
Michalski says he didn't lie.
Dungey: "You didn't lie you just didn't tell them the truth."
He agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 34s35 seconds ago
"I didn't lie to them," Michalski says. "You just didn't tell the truth?" Yes. #TimBosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 38s39 seconds ago
"You left out the pertinent fact about Mr Millard and stealing the truck, didn't you?" Dungey asks Michalski, who answers "yessir" #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 20s21 seconds ago
Bond was so strong with Millard that Michalski was willing to hold back evidence.

Millard responds "I'm not sure you're up for my methods."...

Millard responds "hard work is one thing, scary work is another, and the law is very intimidating."
by Adam Carter 11:25 AM

"it could have been anything from a drug deal to stealing another Bobcat," Michalski says in court.
by Adam Carter 11:25 AM

WTF. To read through all of the texts exchanged, without the court vetting them as we are seeing, would be both interesting and disturbing IMO.

Also random thought on people's opinions that various witnesses are "leaving out" facts - I think that this is not always by their design, but also what the hours upon hours upon days of legal arguments have been over. It may sound choppy because there are certain events that the Crown needs to step over lightly. MOO, of course. I'm an accountant, not a lawyer!

 • #68
hmm Is there some information that MS neglected to tell his lawyer?

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski says Smich played video games with Millard's friends online, but wasn't at the house. #TimBosma

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 1m1 minute ago
Dungey seems confused about the technology that smich doesn't need to be there in person to play Halo. AM says he was. He heard his voice.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 58s58 seconds ago
Now going back to the theft of the bobcat, plants...Dungey says there was also a theft Millard told AM about, of a Harley inside a trailer.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski agrees. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Theft of Bobcat, plants, Harley Davidson. Millard said he stole Harley Davidson and put it inside a closed trailer.

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 1m1 minute ago
Michalski says Millard told him that he stole a Harley Davidson and a trailer. #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 33s33 seconds ago
Dungey suggests their bond must have been very strong for someone arrested for 1st degree could hold back info.
Michalski agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 31s31 seconds ago
The bonding is that strong between the two of you, you wanted to protect #Millard. Michalski agrees

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 29s30 seconds ago
.May 13-arrested for murder. Not charged. Doesn't tell police about what DM said about stealing a truck. Nor on 2nd visit. Loyal to DM.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 17s17 seconds ago
Dungey reading transcript from police intvu. Police ask if he had any convo with Dell on May 5. Michalski says no. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 10s10 seconds ago
Police asked if Michalski talked to Millard on May 5. Michalski answered no. That was a lie. Wanted to protect Millard. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 18s19 seconds ago
"That's more than holding back, that's a lie," Dungey says. He agrees. "The reason you lied was to protect Mr Millard." Agrees again. #Bosma

 • #70
Michalski says he didn't lie to police, Dungey counters by saying he didn't tell the truth.
by Adam Carter 11:36 AM

Dungey says the bond between the two of them had to be very strong for Michalski to not tell the truth when he was under arrest.
by Adam Carter 11:37 AM

Dungey now referring to Michalski's police statement. In it, Michalski says he didn't speak to Millard at all on May 5. "That's more than holding back, isn't it? Dungey says. "Yes sir," Michalski says, and says he lied to protect Millard.
by Adam Carter 11:39 AM

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 15s16 seconds ago
Dungey says "it must have been some bond" Michalski he with Millard to do that in a police interview for a murder. #TimBosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 21s22 seconds ago
Dungey points at police statement, when Michalski says he didn't speak to #Millard May 5. Witness agrees he lied to protect his friend

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 59s60 seconds ago
Dungey: and then they go through May 6 & again you're holding back. You hold back until you get to a point you realize you're in it trouble

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 58s59 seconds ago
Arrested on 1st degree he lies to police about theft of truck. He Admits it was to protect millard. @AM900CHML #timbosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 47s48 seconds ago
You lied to police until page 60 or so when you realized you were in big trouble, Dungey says. "That's correct," Michalski concedes

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 45s46 seconds ago
Michalski agrees. He wanted to protect Millard and himself. #Bosma

 • #72
Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 1m1 minute ago
Michalski agrees he held back and lied to the police until he realized he was in big trouble and needed to tell the truth #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 51s51 seconds ago
Dungey: there was nothing to protect for yourself, you hadn't done anything. So it can only be that you were protecting Millard. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 49s49 seconds ago
Michalski wearing white shirt, grey jacket. Hair pulled back in ponytail. Speaks softly and usually just "correct" or "no" or "yes sir."

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 1m1 minute ago
Dungey'"u lied to police over and over until u realized u were in big trouble. So u did it to protect DM" michalski says "yes" @AM900CHML

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Michalski says he was trying to "escape from underneath it...just not be involved." #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 1m1 minute ago
Michalski says he didn't even want to be involved #TimBosma

 • #73
"You realized around page 60 or so 'Man, I'm in big trouble here, and I'd better come out and tell the truth,'" Dungey says. Michalski agrees.
by Adam Carter 11:40 AM

Michalski says he just didn't want to be involved. Dungey says he wasn't involved, as he didn't steal a truck. "But I'm here. I am involved," Michalski says.
by Adam Carter 11:41 AM

Michalski now reading a portion of his May 6 police statement.
by Adam Carter 11:43 AM
<<--AC deleted this one from his feed, but I had copied it already

Police also asked Millard if MIchalski spoke to Millard on May 7. He told them he didn't, though he had, about the truck.
by Adam Carter 11:44 AM

 • #74
Well, I think it's safe to say that AM was the witness CN was to tamper with.

IMO

 • #75
So we know DM was interviewed for 24 hours after he was arrested......is it safe to assume if he said anything incriminating that this would have been presented by the interviewing officers? Also.....timing of AM's arrest......few days after DM's arrest......and AM was arrested for 1st degree murder......things that make you go "hmmmm"....MOO

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Michalski says he was trying to "not be involved."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
But Dungey suggests he's here because he knew something. He agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
Michalski says he was "trying to escape from underneath it" "Trying to not be involved." #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 12s12 seconds ago
During police intvu, they ask him to run through his day on May 6. If he had any communication w Millard on May 7. Michalski says no. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 27s28 seconds ago
Dungey: you lied to the police then and again that was to protect Mr Millard.
Michalski agrees. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 28s29 seconds ago
Cops ask him "are you aware he might've been in the market for a new vehicle." And Michalski said "not at all...didn't think he needed one."

 • #77
I'm sure after trial we'll see at least some of DM's recorded interviews.

 • #78
Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 28s29 seconds ago
Lied to police by saying he didn't know of theft of truck.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 32s32 seconds ago
Another lie, Dungey says--you knew May 4.
Even back in November, Michalski agrees. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 49s50 seconds ago
Cops ask him if he ever had any convo w Millard about a truck prior to May 5. "Never," Michalski responds. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 49s49 seconds ago
Dungey says again a lie again protecting Millard and you didn't want to be involved. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 50s50 seconds ago
Again, Michalski agrees he was trying to protect Millard because of the bond they had formed.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 33s33 seconds ago
Dungey: "this wasn't just a truck missing this was a person missing. and you were scared and you didn't want to have anything to do with it"

 • #79
Also clear that AM lied to the police.......maybe not as many times as MH......but MH wasn't arrested for murder......ugh......my faith in humanity is gone.....did any of these PEOPLE tell the truth at the start??? MOO

 • #80
Police also asked Michalski if Millard was "in the market for a new vehicle." He told them no, but that wasn't the case.
by Adam Carter 11:45 AM

"You were out to protect Millard ... because of this hold he had on you, this bonding, this persona," Dungey says. Michalski agrees.
by Adam Carter 11:46 AM

Michalski agrees he started telling the truth after he started to "feel the noose tightening."
by Adam Carter 11:48 AM
