But MS told MM that DM had committed the murder, and LE already had DM.

Just my personal opinion....but I have completely had it with all the excuses.

She gave a statement 16 days after the crime. In the big scheme of things - about 1000 days from crime to trial - she came forward early.

In truth, I haven't much use for any of the key players here. People have said MM has a moral compass etc. etc. however she wasn't moral enough to do the right thing and this has been a constant theme throughout all the testimony. Not that any of them could have brought Tim back because it was too late as soon as he got into his own vehicle for a test drive.

If I was MM, knowing what her "loser boyfriend" was all about and come on....she knew he was a thief and a drug dealer and didn't treat her all that great, I would be afraid that if I kicked up too much dust on all of this I might be next! She knew he was trouble and she knew what he was capable of. No one has asked her if she saw the gun prior to the murder. I think she did because DM and MS were pretty proud of that gun. They took pictures of it for Goodness Sake! If I'm MM I'm not going to the police when there are a whole cast of characters still out there that could cause me harm because she talked.

Yeah, she seems better than the others and yeah she seems to be telling the truth. I often wonder who the tears are for though. Are they for the Bosma's sitting in the front row or are they for themselves and the predicament they find themselves in? I believe it's the latter.

MM didn't kill Tim, she didn't plan his murder, and it appears she didn't clean up afterwards. She was not complicit in the event. Her only failing is that she didn't tell LE what she knew as soon as she knew it. Oh yeah....and bad judgement like every single other person in DM's circle.

Interesting. We heard before that their mutual friend CD set them up. Although it's possible that both stories are true and the "set up" occurred at Tim Hortons.

“He’s a sweetheart, he’ll do anything for you. He’s just a really good person,” said Cora Dacunha, adding that she set him up with his girlfriend before she continued crying.

Ya but she's right on top of it when her bf's buddy is arrested isn't she?

Well, obviously. That would get her attention and it was when she put 2 and 2 together. Of course she was right on top of it when DM was arrested. That was probably what put this into her field of view.

If I was 18 and my GF killed someone, she wouldn't be sleeping in my bed every night, thats for sure. Most GFs would kick a guy out for lying, cheating, or just being a dick. Smich was a dick and then he kills someone and she still doesn't throw him out?

And where would she have gone? She was already kicked out of her parents' house and living at MS's mom's house. Her phone was paid for by DM and she was 18 and working part time. I don't think she had many options of where to go.

When exactly was it announced on the news that Millard was arrested? We've heard that he was arrested around 7:35pm on May 10. Meneses testified today that she saw it on the news later that evening. She said to Smich, "Why is your friend on the news and why is he getting arrested for that?" And then Smich grabbed her phone and started making calls. This must have been just after 9pm according to the call logs. I don't recall the arrest being announced so quickly.

Another peculiar thing is that Millard stopped by Speers Rd for about 50 minutes -- from about 6:30pm to 7:20pm -- shortly before he got arrested in Mississauga. We didn't hear anything from Meneses about this visit. Perhaps she wasn't home at that time, but Smich was?

She may have naively thought that if it was DM that shot TB, that MS would be free and clear, rather that equally culpable in the murder. MM may have thought this was all DM's problem, and no one elses. She knew she had a moral obligation to go to police, but I don't think she knew she had a legal obligation to go to the police. Hard to believe, but many people do not know how the law works, and many people are afraid of the police and don't trust them. JMO

Of course every young girl should make decisions like they are bursting with self-esteem, but very few are. MM dropped out of high school and wanted an early marriage. I don't think she is the independent feminist sort. I don't blame her for falling in with MS.

DM called MM a child and DM and MS seemed to mostly keep her out of their business. I don't think she would have been cool with the pictures of the gun so I doubt they would have shown them to her.

I find her to have been quite young and naive. DM and MS's other associates were a lot more sophisticated.

MS was arrested as MS and MM were walking together from Speers to Montrose.

I think the OP was questing Millard's arrest....not MS's. I have his same question.....IIRC DM's arrest was released to the public on the Saturday, not the Friday.....so questioning how MM saw it on the news on Friday night....not saying she is lying....just wondering how this occurred....

:tyou: Thank you for summing it up so nicely Tealgrove.

From May 7th, until the 22nd, MS had all that time to tell MM all the gory details and I'm sure he did. They lived together and were pretty much together 24/7 other than her piddly little part time job taking her away from MS. I don't think MM is lying, I just think so far is holding information back about what MS told her about the theft, murder and incinerating their victim. Which stands to reason. She has to stick to her initial statement to LE now. Anything new she might add, DM's defense will pounce all over her and make her out to be a unreliable witness. Let's just call her young, naive and stupid for her mistake of not pushing MS to go to LE with his version of what happened, or going to them herself with what she knew back then. MS may not be sitting where he is today had he gone to LE between TB's murder and DM's arrest if he wasn't the actual murderer. MOO.

She has to be mistaken.

She has to be mistaken.

Which then leaves the question how did MM/MS hear about DM's arrest so quickly and contact AM? This still isn't making sense to me.....
