Smich agrees that he said Millard said that the "friend" couldn't find Tim Horton's.
by Adam Carter 3:08 PM

Sachak says that Millard pretended to get the text, then drove North on Trinity Road, right onto Brook Road West, and then asked Smich to get out and into the SUV to follow them.
by Adam Carter 3:11 PM

"Didn't Mr. Bosma say, sir, there's no Tim Horton's there, what's your friend talking about?" Sachak says. Smich says he just got out of the vehicle and "took the hint."
by Adam Carter 3:12 PM

Smich writes on the map to show about where Bosma's truck stopped, just past the laneway where the Yukon was parked.
by Adam Carter 3:13 PM

"Do you see any kind of business establishment ... which would suggest to any normal person there would be a Tim Hortons there?" Sachak says. Smich says no, his friend said he was around the corner.
by Adam Carter 3:14 PM

Sachak suggests if this was Millard's cover story, it was "one pretty bad cover story."

Sachak deliberately misunderstanding Smich's explanation. Lame.

Sachak again asking if Smich asked any questions about where the car was. Smich says he got out and proceeded to the other car.
by Adam Carter 3:16 PM

Sachak says there was never a conversation about a friend being lost and looking for Tim Hortons and Millard asking him to get out. "That did not happen." Sachak says.

I'm pretty sure we've all asked this same question here a million times on how this went over with Tim IMO

I am thinking Smich better have his lies - er, his version - in order, because he is about to get tested. If NS is smart, he will try to get all his questions in today, so MS doesn't have a chance to sleep on his answers.

Why do they have to have break JUST when it starts to get more interesting. Yeesh! :)

The truck not pulling into the field and waiting on the road is starting to make sense. Tim would have no idea which side of the car Smich got into and when they were driving likely only saw the blue Yukon trailing behind and not the number of passengers.

  • #252
It isn't really "around the corner" and nowhere near Trinity and Book. MS says DM went north on Trinity and then turned right on Book, unless I am reading it wrong.

MS said that DM got a text from his friend that they couldn't find it and that they were parked around the corner.

Nothing at all like what Sachak is trying to pass off as a bad story. Trying to confuse the story and the jury. It was a perfectly good story, even if not true.

To try to discount it this way shows that it probably was the truth and that DM was most likely the only person in the vehicle with TB when he was shot.

  • #253
Does anyone recall if SB or WDB mentioned in their testimony that the "sketchy" guy pet TB's dog? Was it even mentioned if TB's dog was outside at the time?

According to MS, they pulled up to the Yukon, MS got out, and then DM did a U turn. How does that figure in?

You have to wonder then what the witness who described two vehicles pulling out his dad's field saw. The brain can fill in information and shape memories, but as Smich tells it he only could have seen the Yukon pulling out.

Well, we got the answer about no trail from his phone. It's because his SIM cards had all conveniently disappeared. JMO

Isn't it possible that one phone was replaced by another phone, at which time the sim card from the first phone would be inserted into the second phone, and etc? Just because a person gets a new phone doesn't mean they necessarily get a new number/sim card. If the phone had been damaged or he just wanted a new phone for whatever reason, same sim card can be used. Also, when putting a phone out of use, one might want to dispose of the sim card to ensure no further billing activity can occur? Just a thought. moo

Yeah, it makes a little more sense now, especially if the truck was in the laneway and TB could see it (as opposed to being in the field).

Then again, did Bullmann not say he saw two trucks (one Tim's, one SUV) coming out of the laneway or the field from his father's property? Why would DM back up Tim's truck into the laneway instead of during a U-turn, or 3-point turn, on Book to head back out towards Trinity?

Was he ever asked if the chain was on the driveway? They wouldn't have gotten too far up the drive into the field if it was.
