Since DM wanted the truck and the whole part about driving around with a dead person in the vehicle makes me believe that either a, they took the gun for threatening purposes (like, give me the truck, or I'll kill you), or b they were always going to kill Tim, but perhaps not in the truck. Maybe they were going to kidnap him WITH the truck and murder him at the farm. Makes more sense than shooting someone in the vehicle you want/are currently driving.

A speculation on my part only--perhaps when they slowed at Bobcat, TB grabbed the key and attempted to flea, a frantic DM shot at him to stop him, bloodying the truck, they chased him, finished him off and wrapped him in a tarp throwing him in the back covering with another tarp. So as you were saying, shooting inside the truck was not the plan. But I think, unless DM is very poor at directions, if the murder was to be at the farm, he would have driven north to the farm. So many anomolies. IMO

So the Crown starts their cross of MS tomorrow. Do we think it's going to be more direct and to the point than NS's and finish in a couple of days or will it take all week?

One article I read recently said there was about 3 weeks left which doesn't make sense to me unless TD plans to call other witnesses. MS for another 4 days, closing arguments for another week-ish?

IMO, TB didn't even have a chance to get out of the truck.

Something that sent chills up my spine happened today. Making a short story long, after meeting up with a guy selling golf clubs across the city (kijiji, use it quite a bit buying/selling, with zero negative experiences) I decide to take the scenic route back home, and come to a red light stop. To the right of me, waiting for the green light is a black Ram 2500 towing a open sided flat bed trailer, loaded with with a muddy Jeep YJ. Following this case intently from the beginning, and local to the area, this kinda felt like a punch in the stomach.

Hi all! Does anyone know if the complete text messages that have been introduced as evidence in this trial are on a spreadsheet somewhere?

Have they been released in their entirety as exhibits?

In particular, I am wondering about all the text messages that were introduced on April 18 and 19 ... The ones where Leitch read DM's texts into the record, while Harrison read other people's corresponding texts into the record ... the days when Harrison also explained the extraction processes for the cellphones. I have searched extensively, hoping to find that they had been released in their entirety as an exhibit, but no success so far.

I have found the exhibits showing the dates/times of the cellphones' pings, but not the complete messages.

I know that many of the texts were much lengthier than the 140 characters allowed per tweet, and also that there were so many of them that it was difficult for all the fine journalists to keep up.

I am hoping that there is a complete record of them available that would allow a better understanding than the sometimes smaller bits and disconnected pieces do.

Thank you!

Does anybody remember anything about Smich having a black eye when arrested? I seem to recall that he did but not sure how I would have known that as I can't find any pics of it. Am I remembering correctly?

Remember when CN was on the stand...or maybe it was in the Crown's opening statement, there was mention that something was found in CN's closet, but they weren't saying what it was. Was that more letters or what? Did we hear what it was?

Also wanted to say thank you to all those who are transcribing the tweets. Really appreciate it. Thank you!

Smich did have a black eye in his first court appearance. He did in fact have a black eye at one point.

The DVR was found in CN's closet.

Has his mug shot ever been released? I'm assuming this happened in prison but if not, it would be interesting to know who might have taken a shot at him?

I think the OP may have been referring to when the DVR being found in CN's closet was first brought up on the stand, the witness was told to only mention the DVR, and not anything else that was found. (moo) Then later the letters were brought up, I believe when CN was on the stand. I'm not sure whether it was ever stated whether there were any letters found in her closet, I recall there being letters found on her bed? Did we ever find out what that original item(s) was that the officer testifying about finding the DVR was told not to mention? Will have to look back at the letter testimony to see if any were found there? I think we probably all perhaps just assumed that the item that couldn't be mentioned was the letters, but do we know that? Not sure? All just moo and from memory.

I recall that we were discussing that here, but I think we saw surveillance footage from just prior to MS's arrest on the day he was arrested, and I don't think he had a black eye at that point. I'm not sure if we hazarded a guess that he may have been treated gruffly when he was first arrested? During the video showing him being questioned, I believe he had a blanket covering him, so not sure if that would have shown his eye but I don't believe it was mentioned by reporters that he had a black eye in that video. (Was that video put into evidence?) The article linked above states that he had the black eye and a scratch on his cheek, both of which he seemed to be hiding with his hand, when he appeared in court.. arrested May 22, appeared in court May 23 = not much time to receive the black eye while in jail?

From AC's tweets: (BBM)

The jury has is now in the room and we're underway. The first Crown witness today is police officer Kerry Deuench. #TimBosma #Bosma Apr 27, 2016

She helped search Noudga's home in April of 2014 when she was arrested as an accessory after the fact. #TimBosma #Bosma Apr 27, 2016

Deuench searched Noudga's bedroom. #TimBosma #Bosma Apr 27, 2016

She found letters. "They appeared to be from Dellen Millard, and they appeared to be written from jail and to Christina Noudga." #Bosma Apr 27, 2016

Court now seeing photos of Noudga's bedroom. #TimBosma #Bosma Apr 27, 2016

The letters were found in the top drawer of her bedside table.

From AC's live blog Feb 23:

3:41 PM
Wilson says he seized the DVR and passed it over to a detective in the identification unit.
3:41 PM
One other item was also seized, Leitch asks Wilson to please not tell him what it was.
3:42 PM
No cross examination. Wilson is excused.

It seems the item not to be mentioned was not the letters, and IIRC we didn't ever find out what the item was. Perhaps it had no relevance to *this* case. moo

Why wouldn't it be the letters?

I had looked for them to be posted as well, and to my knowledge, those text exhibits have not been posted publicly. All we have to go on are the reports/tweets by the journalists, which I'm sure are lacking information as it was impossible to have kept up with recording everything that was said and/or shown on the screen during court. No knocks to the reporters, it was just way too much information at a fast pace, to be recorded verbatim. moo

I believe that was before she was on the stand they omitted the letters when discussing the dvr. Then when she was on the stand they introduced the letters

We will never know exactly what, how every thing that transpired prior to May 6, 2013 and the days after.
We can believe or dismiss any of thewitnesses testimonies (mostly lies and can't remember) that took thestand, to fit in to each of our own theories.

DM, well his jailhouse letters sealed his fate. Thanks CN. The “oh no” “better call an ambulance”,are you kidding me. Then decides to incinerate TB and then attempt to destroy and hide all the evidence.
The cost of the incinerator and trailercould have bought a truck DM wanted.

MS, almost seemed he wanted to comeclean. With so many un-answered questions, what do we believe and dismiss as the truth. I don't care how much weed one smokes, its notgoing to allow no memory of certain events and all of a suddenremember everything that took place. Especially with a heavy substance user.
Which brings me back to that MagicalForest. If MS was that wasted to not even recall the size of theshovel. 4 foot or 2 foot, how he carried it. If it was 4+foot and taped to his head. How the heck was he able to ride a bicycle?
MS doesn't even want to guess whatforest he might have been to that night. He knows where he left from and knows where he ended up. Makes me want to believe he is protecting someone else, perhaps the gun seller. That's my bes tguess.
I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn'tone of the associates for the gun supplier that ruffed him up andgave MS a black eye and cut on his left cheek. I would bet MS would be more on edge of DM's cronies, then the Dutch community.

Both these guys on trial believed they were always one step ahead of the law. And could get away with any crime.

Hope the Crown can uncover a few more pieces to this senseless crime.
