Sugar skulls tend to be pretty, with vines and flowers added to them, and I'm not seeing that here. I'm seeing a sinister looking skull with a specific hole in the forehead and what looks like other bones or parts of skull bursting out around it.

Personally, I'm surprised that no one has suggested yet that DM drew it for him so that they could have matching tattoos to commemorate the occasion, lol. But seriously, pages have been devoted to whether or not DM's printing is childlike, but maybe these were the kinds of things found in the backpack that seemed childlike?

my opinion only

BBM - you're suggesting a SKULL is child-like? FAR from it IMO......I don't know any kids who draw like that.....and if I did, I would have them to a psychologist ASAP.....

here's one closeup view of the pile of junk, notes added

Thank you!

I think the previous poster regarding these items might be correct. The circular plastic circle just behind the cologne bottle looks like it could be the lid to an electric grinder. Also, the black item in the top left corner appears to be a scale in my opinion which a lot of young people use to weigh their drugs. IMO, he could have this to weigh his own drugs that he purchased or use it to weigh drugs he may be selling. There's also another pack of rolling papers (different type) just behind the fishermen friend package and the thin purple package just to the left of that looks to me like a blunt wrap package.

I am also going to say IMO that just because he has a cheap small hand held grinder does not mean he wasn't a big time smoker. I know of people who have smoked since highschool and still use these. Its fast, easy to take with you and cheap. Remember that this is only ONE photo of ONE dresser top in his room.

You can now find baby clothes with skulls on it, and the little girl's section of stores are full of skulls too. Skulls have gone from being just the domain of the bikers to the mainstream, in my opinion.

I am also interested in knowing if anyone can get a read on the motorcycle company that has produced the paper where the skull is drawn. Ditto for the name on the program behind it. It is yellow script and is upside down. There is also a second pack of rolling papers that is open and has something written on the pack in orange highlighter. MS doesn't seem to have a motorcycle but may have been at a shop that handed these pads of paper out. I know that a stolen motorcycle was found at the hangar. My apologies if this has been discussed

Good eye! Also, how many watches did he need?

the "orange highlighter" is me labeling that "rolling papers" ;) The image resized, and some of the notes I made on the picture are now orange blurs.

Watches would be important so that he could be punctual for the job that he doesn't have or to get to a university course that he wasn't taking or maybe as an indication that it is time to put down that blunt and video game controller and clean your damn room.

I agree skulls can have many meanings and are more mainstream.....but to describe one as child-like is far from the first adjective I would use.....and I don't think an officer would use that adjective to describe a skull drawing, especially one with such detail....<modsnip> MOO

Did LE check the aerosol can(presumed to be Axe spray)? You cut around the bottom metal rim, empty the can, fill with drug of choice and make sure it does not move around, glue bottom back on. A known way to cache.

I'm still super curious why no one wants to discuss the notepad with the drawing of a skull with a hole in the forehead here beside the can of axe? Can anyone tell what is bursting out of the skull?

And no one has talked about the item on the floor just under the drawer....it is red with silver coloured metal fittings.
Am guessing....a crossbow....a sex toy....a Jane Fond red thigh master ?????? ;)

okay chiming in. Yup the black thing is a scale for weighing small amounts of drugs usually, there is an empty small baggie, a grinder and a couple packs of rolleys. My opinion: He was a stoner, maybe sold a some here and there nothing major (like mentioned prior pot is a cheap drug if he was a actual dealer, dealer there would more evidence and definitely not a small scale). Staying with the drug thought, I'd be more curious as to what is under the pack of rolleys (the brown leather-like thing with the white cord around it), it looks like something that would unravel to hold drug tools. Not saying if he was into serious drugs but it does look suspicious to me.

is the pics from the gun on MS Ipad the same gun as the pics found on DM's computer..are they the same gun or are there 2 guns?

The simple deduction would be that it's just a doodle, copied motif or copied logo from somewhere. And, yes, as laughable as it is, it could be he was working on a personal gang tattoo he imagined he would get for himself after taking Gangsta' 101 over and over again and passing one day. Like maybe in another 30 years or so. Well, in my opinion, like, never.

I don't believe MS was a full gang member but only a minor associate and lackey to the Norte gang, and also a lackey to DM. I think they were all associated with the gang in various ways--- BUT the actual murder(s) seem to be the brainchild of DM on his own. JMO.

So, getting back to the skull doodle, as far as just expanding on "skulls" in general, the tattoos can range from being sugar skulls or quasi-cute rose entwined skulls which you would find on the average person, to quite grisly Grim Reaper depictions on criminals. Criminal meanings: not afraid to die, ready for death, am dead already, I embrace death, enjoy yourself to the max before death..etc... But really, this is seen on die-hards, or lifetime gang players, not gang lackeys who get caught by police on a simple graffiti tagging job.

I would go with the more simple deduction of copied motif or logo more than criminal tat material. But ultimately, I do not know.

If it is his personal Grim Reaper tattoo sketch then I've just deciphered it-----> GAME OVER.

They are the same model, Walther PPK. I assume it's the same gun but they could be two guns of the same make.

Any links to MSM for results on this today?

The only source I can find about this ruling even taking place is a tweet from Ann Brocklehurst:
