Curious about the Yukon leaving the hangar in the 12:45-1:15ish time frame in the early hours of May 7th. Was it a solo trip, did both go? Psychologically speaking IMO, if there were no illicit drug use during this time frame, they would most certainly be, higher than a kite on adrenaline from the events that had just transpired JMO. Seems that, for what ever reason, someone needed to go somewhere. In this roughly half hour time frame, is there enough time lets say, to drive to the farm and return? In the 10-15km radius of the hanger I know there is 24hr gas stations and fast food. I believe the Yukon left before the video shows the flame ignition silhouette on the distant surveillance video.

Could this be a trip to get a power washer? We know that DM expected the washer to be at the hanger and not in SS's van.

Problem is... he had already told his right-hand-man that he had BOUGHT the truck. To 'buy' a blood soaked truck (which it had to have been, considering the evidence), perhaps including a body in it, I'd imagine it would go for next to nothing, possibly even free. It was a huge liability. So with alllllllll of his money, and no need to *steal* a truck, he also had no need to buy a crime-scene truck for dirt cheap, perhaps with a body inside too. He could have afforded to buy 'the best', which was more to his style and tastes, according to his lawyer. Since he was caught red-handed with the truck, he has to choose, did he steal it with TB inside and kill him, or did he buy a blood drenched truck for peanuts which had obviously been used in a serious blood letting event and then proceed to hide all of the evidence of someone else's crime? It's way late to be talking about what he could have afforded. moo

Unless this exercise with finance is to show what SS knew, and if he is lying, I think it has been proven beyond a doubt that DM was in possession of the stolen truck on the morning of the 8th, and that he was present during the theft on the 6th, and the hanger activity with the truck in the early morning of the 7th.

Not sure we have to know that the shoplifter had $500 dollars in his pocket when he is caught red handed with the $200 stolen merchandise. MOO

I question how familiar SS was with the app and how often he referenced it. It may have been set up for him once when CD set up the system and then never accessed. Then the D drags that up because SS "could" have theoretically spied on DM...

ETA: the DVR has setting that allow you to send an email out when an event is triggered, and that might trigger one to check the app frequently. But without the email alerts configured, why would you randomly check in on the app? Normally, there's always hours and hours of nothing going on.

Who's to say that SS DIDN'T look through the app? No one has actually asked him that on the stand.

Am I misremembering? I thought it was said somewhere that TB had been cleaning the truck for viewing, but can't recall when that might have been. Just thinking that he may have washed it prior to the viewing and took it up and down Trinity for a quick spin to dry it off.

Impossible for the 9:05pm to be Tim's truck, since DM's phone pinged at 9:05 as he was walking down the Bosma driveway at the same time Tim came out and was on his phone, with DM. Tim's truck was sitting right there in the driveway.

I am guessing there is a slight discrepancy between the cell tower times and the video times.

What I think happened is DM and MS arrived at TB's just after 9pm. They got in the truck together and drove north on Trinity Rd to Wilson St. This is the first time the black pickup is captured on the Super Sucker video. Ten minutes later they drive back, heading south on Trinity Rd. Instead of going all the way to TB's, they stop in the field to pick up the Yukon. The two vehicles then drive off, heading north again on Trinity Rd up to Wilson St and on to Brantford from there.

Edit to add: TB's neighbour thought he saw the two vehicles pull out of the field and head west on Book Rd, a cross street of Trinity Rd. This doesn't line up with the video, but what could've happened is shortly after the neighbour saw them drive west, the vehicles turned around, came back to Trinity Rd, and headed north from there. This all would have happened in a relatively short time frame, which makes me wonder if TB was actually shot during the 10 min while they were somewhere north of Trinity Rd (say on Wilson St), rather than in the field where the Yukon was parked.

Who's to say that SS DIDN'T look through the app? No one has actually asked him that on the stand.

I expect if he did access the app, his cell would have a record of it.

Would love to have video expert Plaxton or the computer guy Dubien discuss the way the DVR was set up.

Default setup is the system can be accessed by any IP and the DVR comes with a preset default password of "123456" that is printed in the manual.

It is up to the person that sets the thing up to change/set up all of the security, logins and passwords. They would also have to set up the paths the cameras scan.

I don't think the software has an audit log where e.g., someone logs in, or changes something and a note of that is saved. However there might be dated configuration files that show some of that.

I don't buy the story that the camera spontaneously pointed itself at a wall and froze permanently in good weather, and I think there is a way to prove that by looking at the DVR.

ETA:

http://www.documentcloud.org/documents/2754340-Bosma-Security-Camera-Presentation.html#document/p1

p. 30

Only 2 cameras were active on the system and were last repositioned on 29 April 2013 locally:

Camera 1 - Located on the northwest corner of the hangar, it was positioned pointing inward towards the corner of the hangar wall.

View from Camera 2

(shows an image of the area where DM and MS entered the hangar and were caught on camera with Pedo.)

When LE says the DVR was accessed locally, they mean right from inside the hangar, not through the app. The DVR works with a monitor and a mouse and a remote control, so it is computer-like.

Very good points that got me thinking. Ontario actually has laws around selling and purchasing "used vehicles". Of course they wouldn't apply if you were simply going to swap out VIN plates on a stolen vehicle, but for any legit purchase AFAIK, there's no way to get around it. These laws are in place to make sure that a rich guy like DM doesn't end up buying a stolen vehicle. DM and SS should have known about that- it's been in place for a long time. So when DM was telling SS that it could be TB's truck, it should have clicked in with SS that DM would have had the package from the Ministry and he had nothing to fear. After all, DM was going to have to register his new acquisition, pay the sales tax and get plates for it- wasn't he? How would SS suggest any other way to get plates on the truck, the truck safetied and on the road? MOO

Why would he need to get plates for it if he drove it back from Kitchener sitting on a can?

:countsheep:2 more sleeps 'til court resumes...can't help but smile at the prospects.
Dungey for defense of course and he has already impressed posters here for his 'razor's edge' in cross examinations....and possibly Leitch for the Crown...excellent. I hate to set my expectations too high in advance but what can I say...I know I will be at the edge of my seat to hear the first announcements that the jury is out for legal arguments :gaah: or taking an early break right after lengthy legal arguments!

PS...anyone else finding the auto-correct is hijacking your typing excessively. I spend more time correcting the auto- correct than I do typing at times....now that's GAAH that never gets better.

In the event that anyone is interested, Peter Mansbridge is interviewing Marie Henein at 6:30 pm , Mansbridge One on One, CBC New Network.....this interview is the 2nd of 2 following the Gomeshi trial. She is a brilliant defense lawyer and very well spoken.

I hope TD tears him apart. I hope he drills him about...
the sale of the black truck
the condition of the black truck (blood etc)
the camera and app....fess up SS we know you looked at the app
why SS got new cell phones at a very coincidental time
why his FIL was fired so suddenly
why SS didn't quit like his FIL said he was going to
why he stuck around after he realized the black truck belonged to TB, was he in on it?

Anything that would incriminate his buddy DM is answered with "I don't know". That's getting old SS, and it is making you look guilty. Anything else he is quite willing to explain and has a great memory!!!!!!

The Super Sucker time wasn't accurate, it was 3 hours out, give or take. The time frames work if it move it was 3 hours and 5 minutes out

Could this be a trip to get a power washer? We know that DM expected the washer to be at the hanger and not in SS's van.

DM wasn't asking about the power washer until early morning on Wednesday. If he had not yet powerwashed the vehiclel, then AJ and SS could potentially have been around when the thing was hosed down?

From Adam Carter's Live Blog:

12:31 PM
On May 8 at 5:42 a.m., Millard texts Schlatman "Do you have the power washer?"

Where is the bar if it is not in London? Yes he was acquitted? So? Do you have proof to say that this Andrew M is not the co-driver at the Baja Race with Dellon M? Please post if you do. I would really like to resolve this and as yet I don't think it has been. When I say they are around the same age.....I consider them in the same age range.

From the FB pictures, it appears the bar is in Mexico when they were there in 2011 for the Baja race. The London person was arrested in London in June 2012. FB pages cannot be linked here, but the AM in this case was in Winnipeg from at least early May 2012 until the beginning of August. He returned to Winnipeg mid-September 2012 and returned home to Toronto at the beginning of October. Not sure of his age, but I believe he was 2 or 3 years younger than DM, so maybe 27 or 28 now.

SS, CN, MM....who else will take the stand??? AM? MB?

  • #174
Are you talking about the friend who worked in the hanger with him? And who got his father-in-law a job in the hangar. The father-in-law phoned in the VIN to crimestoppers? They have mistakenly called him Andrew Michalski and have acknowledged this in the newspapers . I really do not think this is accurate what you are saying. But I am done with this.

I agree .... 3 years ago they (news) were showing a picture labeled as DM and AM .... but it was actually DM and SS

Plus the fact that early on they called AM the mechanic , and that is why my recent post asking who is who in the Camaro video.

100% they are not the same person. AM, friend of DM's is approx 4-5 years younger than DM. That puts him at 24-25 at the time of TB's murder. When this case broke, sleuthers were able to ascertain that they were not the same. The AM in this case is a social network animal. Probably has more friends on FB than the average girl his age. Also, he was one of 6 friends who kept DM friended on FB after DM was charged with murder. Our AM is also FB friends with a lot of people in DM's circle, including but not limited to DM's ex fiancé JS, MS's ex gf MM, RB (witness), RB( son of vet uncle witness) and LB aka ER, the girl who DM & MS are charged with murdering. Our AM, graduated from George Brown College and has been working on his plumbing apprenticeship from the beginning of this case. 100% not the same person as the cop in London.

SS, CN, MM....who else will take the stand??? AM? MB?

Last week, journalist Alex Piersen had reported on Wednesday that Shane Schlatman and a forensic forearms expert were expected on the witness stand. And as you already know, we never did get past a whole lot of legal arguments and a half-@zzed testimony by SS if it can even be called that.
So best guess...they'll start with SS on Monday and how long that goes on is anyone's guess....

I hope TD questions SS about being told to stay away from the hanger due to airport politics.
If you were told to stay away, would you not question it with your boss the next day.
Unless you checked your app on your phone and already knew the answer....but SS won't remember!

We have seen video from neighbouring buildings, and one short video from inside the hangar. Was the hangar video from the DVR that was seized? I can't remember if that was specified. They haven't actually talked about the evidence (DVR and letters) found in the closet yet have they?

Yes, his testimony really stinks. I assume the jury will see right through it, like the majority of the public following this case.
Anything that incriminates DM, he can't remember. Anything else from 3 yrs ago, he can go into great detail about.
He lets on he knows nothing about the hanger being shut down due to airport politics
He lets on he knows nothing about why his FIL was fired
He lets on he saw nothing regarding the black truck (blood etc)
I could go on and on.....

I wonder if they are waiting for CN to take the stand, seeing that it was found in her room. I wonder if we will see incriminating evidence on it, to prove that she was hiding such valuable evidence to this case
