It would have been the Miss America 1978 pageant.
Thanks! What a shocker...also a blonde!
It would have been the Miss America 1978 pageant.
My opinion is the son, brother of JonBenet is more than likely the one who killed her. I know it is a horrible thought but here is my reasoning:
This was a personal kill, someone she knew killed her.
The boy was about the age when he would start to have some sexual enlightenment (if that is the right word) Perhaps saw a movie dad was watching. My kids told me years later how they use to sneak to watch TV shows from the top of the stairs and we never knew it. Perhaps he was acting out a show he was watching.
It would make sense as to why Patsy would write the RN.
I've put myself as a parent, what if I were to wake up, not find my daughter, get scared, and start searching and find her, and then learning it was my son who killed is sister. I believe the parents would protect this son. They have already lost their daughter, and there was no bringing her back and they will not have them losing their son too.
I believe the parents both helped stage the crime scene. The boy was taken out of the crime scene and off to other family members to keep the focus off of him.
We will never know unless this boy confesses and I don't think he will because frankly I think the child acted out what he saw on a movie and couldn't contemplate it would kill her. HE probably was told over and over again, not to speak about it, that it was an accident but people won't believe it so never talk about it.
That is what I think happened.
No because John Ramsey IMO wouldve been furious. He had already lost ONE daughter. I dont think he wouldve been able to look at BR if he knew this to be true.
9 yr olds do not go about doing violent things to their little sisters.
He had no even reached puberty yet. If he were 12 or older, (and very emotionally disturbed) maybe. He was still very young, too.
Christmas had just been, these wouldve been happy children. And they wouldve looked forward to the next day which meant riding on a plane going somewhere to meet their other bro and sister.
I wish we could know a little about Burke as he is now.
what is he like? is he a loner? does he have many friends? Is he super connected with his father? does he have a girlfriend? has he gotten in any trouble?
Some of the questions I have, include:
1. Why did the Ramseys lie about Burke being asleep?
2. Why did the Ramseys each have a different story about what happened after the Christmas party and returning home?
3: why was Burke not gotten up and out of his room immediately, if the Ramseys believed there were kidnappers involved?
4: Why did Burke appear not to care, or show surprise, that his sister had been killed?
Nine year old boys, can be jealous, mean, spiteful and violent. They can also be very resentful and hold grudges. They are also curious about sexuality and the feelings they may be experiencing. What, if Burke had some or all of these feelings, could they have enticed him to do?
Was Burke perhaps jealous that Jon Benet was not only Mommy's 'pet', but Daddys little princess?
A couple of things on this:
I agree with all who have expressed the difficulty in even discussing this. After all, we are talking about a child who we feel somewhat like we've come to know -- someone maybe like we might even know in our own lives. But nevertheless, we do this in hopes of figuring out what happened so that hopefully some sort of "justice" might be dealt.
As to a doctor having to report... I'm not in any way in the medical field, but I do believe a doctor would be required to report if he/she "knew" that some type of molestation were happening. But there is the gray area, whether or not it could be determined with any more than suspicion that it was occurring.
Also, I don't think an examination of the hymen would be part of a typical, regularly scheduled physical (I'm a guy and I don't have any daughters, so ladies help me on that one.) It may have been something that a doctor would have looked at, if the girl (as was the case with JonBenet) were brought in because of an irritation in that area. But then, we don't know how long it had been since her last doctor's visit in relation to when the molestation first began. It could have started only recently before her death.
I also have to state here that I don't believe John was molesting his daughter. I know such things happen, probably more often than any of us would like to know, but I really don't see it in this case. Just my opinion, not based on any facts, but I'm entitled to it.
if that is the case, JR not JBR wouldve gotten the maglight to the head.
Why do people think that there was incest in the fam of Patsy?
If so, I would not think she would want her father around JBR at all.
Yes, Nedra's comment most definitely sounds like an abuse enabler. And Mother still loved and revered her father (and no doubt feared him as well) to her dying day. How could she not? Her mother kept telling her he was perfect. Not necessarily, feddup. I don't adhere to this idea, but I can see it. I think the idea is that he moved out of the way at the last minute. Either he heard her coming up behind him or saw her out of the corner of his eye. More likely, she probably screamed at him right before she swung and he flung himself away by instinct.
A few things. Number one, Patsy's reaction when Haney asks her if she was abused is at odds with her demeanor up to that point. She becomes a small, cowering child, her voice very meek. That's a sign. Then there's her sister Pam. As my poor brother put it, "Guv, why do you think she never married, never had kids and let herself get so fat?" Then there's Nedra's attitude: "only a little bit molested." That sure sounds like an abuse enabler.
Well, you wouldn't think that, but it happens. Some victims still love their abusive parents. It's similar to Stockholm Syndrome, I guess.
Steve Thomas' whole theory is PR kill JBR over bedwetting. (see LKL interview with him and the Ramseys)
Turning 40......I dont think it wouldve been a big deal.
She survived cancer and probably was glad just to be ALIVE.
I'm here now Dave, but... I don't recall posting that, are you sure it was me??:waitasec:yeah, I have read all of that, feddup. And he seems to agree with me: that this was the straw that busted the camel's back.
To you or me, maybe. For a former beauty queen who took pride in her looks, it well could have been.
To paraphrase one of my favorite lines from LinasK, "by then, she wasn't a cancer survivor; she was a stage mother with little tolerance for imperfection." (If LinasK is reading this, I hope she'll post the original line!)
Has it ever been suggested that one of the parent's killed (accidently or not) JB, then blamed Burke (to the other parent) to enlist the help of the innocent parent in a coverup? Now that would be serious staging within staging!
One other thought...I wonder sometimes if JB had an accident, tried to hide it, was found by PR in the basement rooting through wrapped christmas presents looking for wednesday panties, thinking mother wouldn't notice the size difference...
