Brainstorming Ron's flurry of phone calls

  • #121
I am brand new here, but I have been itching to get my opinion posted. I though 20 phone calls showed guilt, but 90? I think he told Misty to turn off the phone to keep anyone from dropping by and realizing Haleigh was already gone. After leaving for work, he thought of all the reasons he needed to talk to Misty and enlisted her brother to go to his house to check on her. Misty, as instructed by Ronald, did not answer the door. If you aren't able to reach the babysitter, and your truly are worried, wouldn't you call your mom, your grandmother, or 911? Especially after calling the next door neighbor, (Misty's brother) and getting a report there was no one at home? I think you would, unless you knew what was going on.
Another thing that bothers me is the fact that LE believes he was at work the entire night. I worked for an Airline, and although we didn't punch time cards, we signed into our keypads. At Christmas when the traffic was at a standstill, we would call ahead to get a co-worker to sign in for us (to keep from being late for the start of our shift.) Why couldn't you use this tactic to leave your shift early, or to take a long lunch break? Maybe this is such an everyday occurrence at his job, no one deemed this suspicious. Maybe they have had second thoughts but are afraid of losing their job because of it. Where I worked, if you admitted to doing this, you would be fired on the spot. Where is a good place to post my theory as to what took place that night? I have some other observations I haven't seen posted that I would like to discuss

One problem with this theory is that Haleigh was seen by several neighbors after Ron went to work. She was out playing with other kids in the neighborhood.

Perhaps we need to find out whether or not the company allows an employee to make personal phone calls or send text messages while operating heavy equipment or any other variety of jobs during his active work shift. Again, unless of course it is being down during his break or lunch time.

It might possibly be a moot point, considering he was fired and never returned to his job there again... It is not out of the question, maybe, that during the investigation his employers found out from the police that he was doing something the company policy does not allow.

Really? I've not seen that reported anywhere. Do you happen to remember where there's a link or something I can find about several neighbors seeing Haleigh playing with other kids that afternoon? I heard Misty's description of her activities, including "popping wheelies" in the yard, but nothing from several neighbors. TIA

This little "gem" was compliments of one Mr. Staubs, I do believe. Talked about Haleigh bouncing on a trampoline, iirc.

(jmo, maryanne, he's not especially reliable as a source, so your theory's fine as far as I'm concerned)

Please tell me what you think Ron and Haleighs grammas did to her?

If nothing else, they have probably obstructed justice and defiled her memory.

imo - jmo - not a fact - just an O

:)

Maybe they gave him a surprise drug test, or asked him to take one and he refused. With all the talk that would not surprise me at all.

Nope, that wasn't it.

If you add phones to your plan for family members each phone still has its own phone number.

Yes, but could the bald guy have been referring to how many total calls were made to Misty that they were sorting through from the bill? He jumped from 20+ to 90 and that's a pretty big leap there. I just wonder why it was 20 plus calls and now it's 90.

I know most phone companies list each cell phone number and their calls separately, but I'm just trying to figure out this comment. And why do they throw this stuff out there without explaining a little more? What is with that?

I think they may have confused pings and towers. When I checked , there were two cell towers in that area. He may have bounced of both.

Are you sure about this? It was my understanding that Misty's brother and sister-in-law (next door neighbors) were the only ones that made this claim. I figure they are either mistaken about the time, or lied about it thinking it took blame off Misty. I may be wrong.

Are you referring to LE when you say "they"?

You are correct about the source of this - one thing about it, if Haleigh was bouncing around on a trampoline she was not at home on Green Lane. She would have been located at 116 Tyler, that is where the trampoline was located.

At one of the earlier press conferences it was said by LE that the neighbors weren't sure about which day, it turned out.

That device was installed at PDM after Haleigh went missing.

:waitasec:Which reminds me, wasn't it said that on Feb 9th the time clocks were broken? Or something was broken...not sure. Do you recall any of that? TIA

that's what I heard. I think LE has an idea where Ron was and wasn't during his work hours. I don't think that Ronald knows they know though. He seems to think he is all in the clear and walks on water

I think you're right. Actually, I believe Art said that the calls came from 2 towers "near" PDM. So we know his phone was at or near werk.

Regarding the jump in # of calls -- is it possible that when Ron was arrested, he had another cell phone and it was discovered that he had it last Feb and additional calls were made from it. Maybe that was his "business" phone and he thought Misty would answer it. I believe Art also said that those 90 calls were to Misty.

I believe the brother lived close but not next door and it was definately neighbors and we had a couple on here sharing with us...
