BREAKING Capitol police: US Capitol in lockdown, reports of gunshots, injured officer

On CNN is raw video. It looks like firemen are using the jaws of life to take off the black car door. They are rolling up a gurney to the car.

Said police officer was not shot but injured.

Two crime scenes, one with police officer, one with suspect crash.

Woman approached checkpoint at W.H. words were exchanged. The woman sped off. Shots were fired at the car. Police not releasing condition of the woman.

Police have begun a news conference. Details from police:
-- A vehicle attempted to pass a barricade near the White House, and the Secret Service tried to stop it.
-- Shots were "potentially fired," and a chase of the vehicle began.
-- A police officer was injured in a crash at 1st and Constitution Avenue.
-- The chase ended up at 2nd and Maryland, near the Capitol, and the suspect's vehicle crashed into a barricade.
-- The condition of the suspect isn't available.
-- No information that the incident was related to terrorism.

The woman is on the gurney. Earlier we could see a police officer running with the child. It looked to be a 2-3 year old girl. She may be younger.
