because it become difficult to find links and more then once there have been multiple links posted on the breaking news thread. The same story over and over.

Maybe we should have a poll in the matter. :innocent: LOL, I'm just teasing. :)

There might be a discussion on this now, but there is a point of crux with who he will have as a lawyer.

Late last night a Boulder public defender spent 3 hours with Karr, and was called at the request of Karr. They said on TV Karr wants this defender to be his lawyer.

Now Ms Jaime is flying to Co today to talk to Karr. It was mentioned on a news/talk show last night in the commentary that he had signed a contract with Jamie's firm to represent him.

This might turn out to be a most interesting fiasco, and I bet Jaime's firm will be the loser.

Scandi

PS: I see she got her hair refrosted yesterday to upgrade her appearance for talking to the public through the media. She's a media starlett now, it seems :p

That is TRUE! :blowkiss:

Maybe a 'Media Link', (some don't have time to keep files)

plus

a 'discussion link' for what is breaking in the news/date ' could be considered.

Just a thought. :)

There is a media link at the top. It was made into a sticky. I was thinking maybe the breaking news thread could be discussion. Those were my thoughts in just trying to make life easier for everyone.

Rita Cosby (MSNBC) spoke with former classmate of JMK, Wendy Nichols. She claims that in the spring of '97, JMK was at her house helping her with her computer when a news report of the Ramsey case came on tv. She said it was like he "became enraged", talking about how incompetent they all were and then told her "he was there", and "he knew what happened".
Just wanted to clarify that when I saw the first part of the interview (just a few minutes ago), Wendy Nichols was careful to say that JMK did NOT confess to killing JonBenet, just that "he was there".

Jamie Harmon has an unenforceable contract. There isn't any way that she can force Karr to have her represent him. the Public Defender's last name is Tenant--at least that is what I think I heard. Even the Public Defender will defer to a big name attorney, if one steps forward. I think a name attorney, definitely not Jamie Harmon, and the Public Defender will make a good team.

Thanks, Scandi! Very interesting indeed.
I saw Harmon her first night interviewed and was NOT impressed, LOL. Maybe she has consulted with a few media guru's now, hehe. Appears she's working hard to stay involved :D Ya gotta wonder why.

She's in way over her head. i highly doubt that she has ever represented anyone in a high profile case, let alone a defendant in a murder case. I think the CO Bar/the Judge would be wise to tell her politely, that she should return to San Jose and forget about this attempt at fame.

LaMer. I started pulling together John Karr's whereabouts, and life, focusing on late 1996 as that is the only time of any importance, in this case. I don't have much to share yet.

Thanks, I didn’t know they lived so close.

Karr family is putting credibility on the line.

I have no reason to believe JMK would have passed up a “kid oriented event”, but we will see.

I totally agree. She needs to make a quick return flight home, and stay back in CA. Now...I thought when she was asked a few nights ago if SHE represented him back in the CA case, she answered, her FIRM did. Did she actually know him back then, do you know? I've missed that specific detail. TIA.

DD, Patience Van Zandt, who now works for Harmon, was a Public Defender in Sonoma County in 2001, and represented Karr in the Petaluma Child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 charges. Harmon & Associates, San Jose, had absolutely nothing to do with that.

They're not sure where he was. His family is saying he was either in one state or the other.
No one of his neighbors said she saw him leave his house on Christmas morning with his family to go to GA for Christmas. And he returned on the 26th to his home again.

S.J. attorney's legal guidance draws rebukes from judges
CLIENTS CLAIM THEY WERE MISLED ABOUT CONSEQUENCES OF PLEADING GUILTY

San Jose defense attorney Jamie Harmon portrays herself on her Web site as an experienced lawyer, capable of navigating the complexities of California law to ensure clients receive ``the best possible outcome'' in their cases.

http://harmon-lawoffice.net/index.jsp

But in the past two years, a series of judicial findings have painted a more disturbing picture -- of a lawyer whose clients in some cases have struggled to overcome her dismal guidance.

On three occasions, Harmon, a former deputy district attorney, has been cited by judges for providing incorrect legal advice. Each time, her clients had claimed she did little preparation or investigation, and pressured them to plead guilty by misleading them about the consequences. And each time, Harmon's mistakes forced the legal system to explore whether defendants who admitted wrongdoing should be allowed to withdraw their pleas.

In one instance, she was secretly caught on tape misadvising her client. After Harmon's actions became known, the defendant withdrew his plea, went to trial and eventually was acquitted.

Courts rarely chime in

A three-year Mercury News review of 727 criminal jury trials in Santa Clara County shows that although it is common for attorneys to draw criticism from their clients, it is highly unusual for the courts to support those complaints -- and even rarer for judges to order new proceedings because of poor defense work.

David Martin, an appellate attorney who successfully challenged Harmon's work in two of the cases, said a lawyer who is not candid can easily lead a criminal defendant astray. The accused ``desperately want to believe it's not as bad as it appears,'' he said. ``You always assume the attorney will do their professional duty and provide accurate advice to their clients. The whole process breaks down when that is no longer true.''

DId anyone else notice that when Rita was giving a lead in to her interview with Wendy Nichols that stated that Wendy says in the interview that JMK said " I did it"? No where in that interview did she say that, she was very careful with her words and said instead that he was there. This is exactly how misinformation gets spread all over the airwaves and internet. I was more interested in finding out why this woman waited until August 19th 2006 to inform Boulder authorities of these comments. Why didn't Rita ask her that?

Hey 'ya Dawgie! Great to see you. I think Jamie was a prosecutor until '99 {would have to go look that up}. I know I made a mental nhote that she has been in private practice for about 7 years. I don't know when she hooked up with VanZandt.

They would be perfect candidates for a humerous, tounge in cheek cartoon, especially if they had quizical frowns upon their faces.
:D :D

I posted this before, awhile ago.

A neighbor said, JMK helped her when she was moving, it was right before and after Christmas. She said, she also saw him the day of Christmas.

No link, this was a TV program.

Editing to add, one might think this would be memorable, when one is 'moving', and he helped her move.
