Breaking news in the LISK case

So would an event like his trophy garden being discovered (GB4) and plastered all over international news be enough for him to change methods? I say Yes. What about you Mr. Brendt?

I'd say knowing his dumping ground(s) have been found would change some methods, especially the use of burlap.

I think Superstorm Sandy would have helped him. Plenty of new area for dumping, and no one noticing, or if noticed, not connecting. Clearly he has concentrated on that coastal line for a while, so either local or works running the coast. Not going to be able to change that unless he moves midwest or CA.

Peter you said
"Also known with sociopaths is stopping because they find something else, more interesting, more exciting. In this case they can lay low for decades and keep the urges under control just by reliving. Rader for example. Or, with a touch of being bored by an inept police."

Do you think it's possible that veiwing and maybe even participating on sites like this would be interesting enough for him to stop for awhile. Could it be his way of relliving his kills? If this is so, then what happens when he get's bored with the conversation? Would he kill again just to liven things up a bit? : /

Hes gotta be a cocky SOB to be participating in discussions like this. I do not hesitate for one second to believe the feds, SCPD, etc etc all check these boards. Especially when tips are flowing in from us like they have been.

Not all socipaths are killers either. There are different degrees. Being able to seperate emotion from decision is a good trait in my eyes. Obviously I do not think killing people is good though.

I do not think this guy just stopped killing. It is like an addiction to serial killers. Whether you are addicted to sex, drugs, money, alcohol, addrenaline, etc etc you just do not stop. You usually have to seek some kind of counseling or rehab. I think he is still killing, but just has a different area to drop bodies. It has been how many years??? 3-4 years since the last hooker (AC) was murdered. I really think he has a new dumping ground somewhere on the south shore of long island or a new disposal method. Sandy may have thrown a wrench into his gears but I do not think it stopped him. He is arrogant, and thinks he is smarter than everyone else (which he has proved correct SO FAR) so I think he is definitely killing again. His arrogance will be his eventual downfall. I said it a few days ago "Arrogance is potent". Have serial killers been known to change disposal methods?

Pardon my ignorance but does anyone have the date when JT dissappeared?

According to this she was reported missing mid-July 2003

I don't think so. He is not even near to spiraling down. So at the moment, I would think, he still needs those trophy gardens. However, if someone would may have mentioned a place, he pondered as a possible new dump site, lets say on a public crime board he reads, he maybe would change the kind of place where he builds the next one.

Im trying to think of places along the South Shore where he could dump bodies and not really have to worry about being spotted. I can't really think of any such locations as the South Shore off of the barrier islands is pretty densely populated.

What about closer to the city or perhaps in the Rockaways? I am not too familiar with Nassau County.

LE probably has tapes of the killers voice. Its about time the tapes are released to the public. Someone will recognize his voice and turn him in.

I 100% agree. If they have these recordings, they should appeal to the public for help.

After all, they only ended up catching the Unibomber after publishing his manifesto in the New York Times. It was a desperate attempt to see if anyone out there recognized his writing style. Fortunately his brother did.

I think, not being spotted is not so much the problem since he probably drops the bodies at night. The real issue would be a place where the bodies wouldn't be spotted the next days/weeks.

What makes you think, they have his voice? As far as the articles go, LE didn't care about anything before the bodies were found. Which means, the calls to MB's sister were like tow years past then. Also the tap at the time was probably only a trap for figuring out the phone number of the caller, which allowed to track them to NYC and so on, but not to record (which would be against the law in NY anyway).

If its an issue of caring then you might have a good point. If you combine shes missing along with the nature of the calls then they should have recorded his voice. I dont think this would be against the law in NY under the circumstances. Maybe HAWKSHAW could weigh in on this. And again if they have it they should release it.

My not Mr. Brendt, but I'd like to cast my vote anyway.

I vote "no". Because I don't believe Gilgo is, or was , his only trophy case. I also don't think he has a stomach for blood. JMO

MY not Mr. Brendt?! Good lord I'm tired. (That was obviously supposed to read "I'm not Mr. Brendt..."
