Breaking News ~ NC Wanted re: Janet

Thank you LL&S, that was sure a lot of videos! Hope he doesn't give up his day job, what a joke. He doen't have to take a poly test because .....we can believe him? I think he has a surprise coming his way and its not the 500K.
I haven't yet seen all of the portions of the interview but from the two I've seen, I still believe that he's showing genuine emotion. I'm not sure what he's recalling inside of his head when he cries but the crying is real, IMO. (That certainly does not mean that he didn't kill Janet. A person can kill someone and still have felt emotion toward that person prior to the murder and recalling those times can prompt one to cry.)

Does anyone out there that's seen the videos feel the same way I do?

Yes, to me he does appear to be showing genuine emotion in the videos. I still think he looks guilty of the murder though, I'm not sure of it, but it doesn't look good for him.

I agree. The two things that stick out in my mind the most are:

1) The fact that he didn't seem concerned that someone might still be in the house when Kaiden was in his room crying and ...

2) After being at the police station for approximately 5 hours after the murder, Raven told Janet's parents that she had committed suicide by gun. I just can't come up with any reason for him to say that if he were innocent. It just doesn't make any sense.

Thanks for replying, newkid. It's good to see you here.

I think the tears were real...and I can tell you what he probably was thinking about to make those few tears...the 500 K that he wants so bad. I have seen a lot of people in pain over losing someone and its surely not him.

I am not sure if 1) really reveals guilt. I have seen so many cases where a murder occurred and the one that found them didn't even think twice about an intruder being there. We saw that Meredeth, Michelle Young's sister entered the crime scene where she found the body of her sister and her live daughter, Cassidy there. She called 911 from inside the home instead of fleeing outside with Cassidy to make the call. IMO, her focus was not on her own personal safety.

Daniel Horowitz walked into a house of horrors with his wife, Pamela's body laying there bludgeoned to a bloody pulp. He called 911 from inside their home. I just think when a person finds something this horrific their minds aren't on the perpetrator still being there but are just on auto pilot and it becomes focused on the victim totally or if they are live survivors it becomes about them and not the finders safety and in other cases the finders have reacted the same way.

Just my opinion of course.

You raise very good points, oceanblueeyes. I imagine that the mind can react very strangely to finding such an unusual & terrifying circumstance.

I don't agree that the tears were about the money. I firmly believe that his emotions were genuine. Whether he's crying about Janet being gone or about guilt over Kaiden or memories of that night ... I have no idea. But IMO, something is making him cry genuine tears and it's definitely something more significant than money.

BTW, I think that the life insurance was 500,000 combined between Janet & Raven, wasn't it? I seem to remember that from somewhere but I can't exactly recall.

Well, the $500,000 is what NC Most Wanted stated but they also originally stated that Raven arrived home at 11:45 P.M. when he actually arrived home approximately an hour before that. There were some other misstatements in the report that I can't remember off the top of my head now. But I thought that it was rumored (for whatever that's worth) long, long ago that they had $250,000 on each other. I suppose it doesn't really matter. Either way, it's a lot of money and could certainly speak to motive.

" In Durham, Janet Abaroa was stabbed to death at her home in 2005. Her husband, Raven Abaroa, has refused to submit to a polygraph and investigators have told NC WANTED that Raven has provided little cooperation with their department. To this day, Raven remains a person of interest in the murder of his wife. He now lives in Utah. "

.......although it's not a story ON janet, at least she IS included in the story, giving us hope that her case is still remembered in NC and that the POI ( Raven---"sleep tight tonight raven--------knowing that they are still breathing down your neck, one step away from that arrest...which WILL come............and soon".) is still the one and only possible suspect--

--her loving husband, the ONLY person known to have that few minutes of oppurtunity between arriving home and TOD---yep, that's raven, who would much rather put some $$$'s into his pride and joy VX than put up with supporting janet AND another baby.....

..i cannot wait for NC to get a DA that will once and for all connect the dots and put this 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 away.....!

My favorite part of the story.

I believe 100% that he is the murderer.

We've heard of how many women he has blown through since he moved back home.

He's been Mommy shopping since Janet's murder and I think he will continue until he finds one, remarry's and I believe he will cheat, take out a huge insurance policy and find ways to make her have an accident.

He's habitual in everything he does, he's a habitual liar, habitual cheat, habitual thief.

What else is there to be habitual about......

They need to get him behind bars soon.:behindbar

I noticed that the "story" was updated July 19, 2008. Do you think anything new is going on?

I found out there is a new Detective, Pate.

NC Wanted has updated Janet's case with absolutely no changes made to the actual section several times since the shows airing.

Wouldn't it be nice if something was going on though...

It looks like they reaired the show (a second time) last weekend! Also, with the oxygen channel show featuring this case...hey, maybe something is going on???

Oxygen segment was I guess a 2 minute little blurb. I am waiting to see the Oxygen one. A friend of mine had tivoed captured and was watching it and has it tivoed so I am trying to get a copy of it.

She stated she thought it was very short with LE giving general information about the case.

I am glad NC Wanted has replayed this. Maybe someone saw something and more possibilities of it reaching someone that knows more information. Maybe people know more about who and what Raven was hanging with, maybe people saw Raven before or after and has information and are afraid to come forward and maybe they will now that they see, the lies and listen to the 911 call and see the pitiful disgusting interview and see how he is so deceitful.

It needs to air in Utah is where it needs to air.

UNSOLVED 116
JANET ABAROA, 25
At 25, Janet Abaroa was a wife, mother and world-class athlete. In the late 1990's, she was an All-American soccer player at Southern Virginia University. It was there that she met a fellow soccer player and her future husband, Raven Abaroa. The couple was married in 2000 and eventually settled in Durham, NC. In 2004, Janet gave birth to a son named Kaiden. But on April 26, 2005, Janet Abaroa's life came to a tragic end. That Tuesday afternoon she picked up Kaiden at day care and went with her husband to drop off her car for repairs. The Abaroas then met with a church member at their home before Raven left the house to play in an indoor soccer game in nearby Morrisville. When he returned a few hours later, Raven found Janet upstairs, dead. She had been stabbed repeatedly. Kaiden was found in his crib uninjured.

CASE NOTES
Durham Police believe Janet knew her killer.
Police say there was no sign of forced entry, and no sign of a robbery, although a laptop computer was missing from the home.
Police do not know how long Kaiden was alone in the house after Janet's death, before Raven Abaroa returned home from the soccer game.
Police searched through the couple's e-mail accounts and correspondence to find clues. They also took the clothes Raven Abaroa was wearing that night and searched the SUV he drove home from the soccer game.
Police have named no suspects in Janet's murder.

Janet was pregnant with the couple's second child at the time of her death.

After Janet's death, Raven Abaroa moved to Salt Lake City, UT, with his son.

YOU CAN HELP
Durham Police Department: 919-560-4440"

In the NC Wanted Video Raven tells a story about when Janet was giving birth to Kaiden that the cord was wrapped around Kaiden's neck, yet in the Memorial video it shows Raven showing Kaiden and saying he was about 15 minutes old.

I heard that the story about the birth of Kaiden is taken from someone elses' life and it's a story he heard that happened to someone else. If someone goes through the interview and finds the exact quotes could they post it here so I can go through it again.

"you may think you do, but you don't need one for me," says he regarding the polygraph. HA!!! LIAR LIAR LIAR! You can tell from this that they feel strongly they did it, but they just don't have enough evidence to nail him yet. They only get one shot, so they need to do it right.

Yeah, you may think you do. That's the way this freak rolls, I tell you.

Even in his personal life. He can screw up 110%, but he finds a way to switch things around and turn it around.

Durham's political machine is so messed up atm. Law Enforcement has had a lot of changes and they have a lot of housekeeping to get things back in order. The DA's Office had a backlog warrants dating back to 1979.

http://www.wral.com/news/news_briefs/story/4975014/

They threw away 19,000 warrants, and they still have 60,000 warrants. Mhmm, what does this say?
