I believe so. Tyndall's motion to keep the cameras out of the courtroom was denied. I believe wral.com will be following it live.

Court is scheduled to resume at 10:00 am on Monday morning.

Durham court doc: Slain mom Janet Abaroa feared husband

According to an April 17 notice by the state that it plans to use hearsay evidence at trial, Janet Abaroa confided to others, as early as 2003, that her husband had a temper and anger problems and that "she never knew what she would get each day – the nice Raven or the Raven that was in a complete rage."

"One day he was swearing and yelling at her and scaring her, and the next, he was on the church stand saying how much he loved his wife," the document says.

I believe she was ready to divorce him and that wasn't an option to him. How sad. If you feel the need to verbally, mentally and physically abuse her, why not just let her get a divorce? $500k and needing money to pay for your embezzlement attorney made his decision so much easier, but beyond that, I think if he couldn't have Janet he didn't want anyone else to.

Hey *trixtor*, can't believe this one is FINALLY starting. Been waiting for this for so long, thinking Raven would never be held accountable. Have they chosen the alternates yet? The last I saw they had 12 jurors.

The two alternates were chosen on Thursday. Trial starts at 10:00am tomorrow from what I heard.

We know that Lady Justice doesn't always prevail after OJ & Casey Anthony walked. The only true way that Justice will be served is if he's found guilty, but this guy seems to skim through life getting away with so much, I pray this time justice is swift, because he will destroy more lives and kill again if he gets away with it this time.

Opening statements expected in Durham mom's 2005 slaying

Durham, N.C. — Opening statements are expected Monday morning in the trial of a man accused of killing his wife in their Durham home eight years ago.

Raven Abaroa, 33, is charged with first-degree murder in the April 26, 2005, stabbing death of 25-year-old Janet Abaroa.

He has maintained that he was at a soccer game in Morrisville when his wife was killed and returned home to find her on the floor and their 6-month-old son unharmed in another room.

Well, sports fans, we're getting a good look at the empty courtroom. It sounds like things are being set up & tested for the feed. Great sound effects and clear view of where the jury, judge and witness will be....

Who knows when things will really get started -- I don't know how Durham County has its court schedule set up. In the neighboring county of Wake, hours are EDT -- begin, 9:30am, ends at 5:00pm -- with am and pm breaks and a lunch break... but that's not where we are.

We'll see.....

Justice for Janet

I'm here but I'll be in and out. Thank goodness Judge OH let the camera stay in. I like this judge a lot. Got to know him in the M. Peterson trial.
Hope everybody is well this Monday morning!
