I just hope they don't release this guy before they test his dna and rule him out. He may have offered up his dna just to make it seem like he is not the suspect so they could release him on bail or something. Then he hits the road and disappears.

I agree. I don't know the legalities of holding him if he posts bail. Do they have enough, legally, to ask the judge to consider him a suspect in the Brianna case?

he does have that little bit of hair underneath his chin though, also along the side of his face (but that could have been recent growth).

why the heck are women in Reno still walking around alone late at night...are they not getting this???

And why would this guy pull a stunt like this knowing if he got caught he would be under suspicion in the Denison case? Although they are saying, once again, the two cases are not related....oh yeah, just like the last time.

Like it has been said before, some people are not going to heed warnings. It is amazing that they put themselves in this much danger.

I know the guy's pic is sort of dark, but his hair looks to me like it has been recently died. It's all one flat color, no highlights, and the roots at his part look like a brown dye job. His complexion also looks like he could have lighter hair or just doesn't match the haircolor. Good thing this attempt didn't happen in my town even with a murderer running around. The girl would have been told that it's not a crime to drive down the street and the guy really didn't threaten her.

FWIW, where this happened IS what I consider the "North Valleys".

I saw that on the map too. I didn't think anyone would remember.

I guess the poor girl who left the country must have reported that he did take her underwear during the attack....who else could it be?

I'm beginning to wonder now about the DNA LE collected from the house where Brianna was taken, with all the guys coming in and out of there, how do we actually know it wasn't just the DNA from some previous visitor. That "oily substance" could have been there before. I'm not even confident right now that DNA belongs to the killer.

Exactly,at this point this person has no clue that this case is riding on their own underwear. They could be from anywhere!!

Frankly, this has been a game for this 🤬🤬🤬. He's probably putting his feet up and laughing at us, for over analyzing this one clue.

LE needs to look for repeat offenders...and unfortunately when and if he strikes again.

Wouldn't it be the police's fault she was out walking alone in the middle of the night? </sarcasm>

Nawwwww. It would be LE's fault for saying the perp's DNA was on the PP underwear when it wasn't. :)

"It’s really not that big of deal,” McDonald said of the new information about the underwear.

Would someone please get this LE some help!!! GEEZ...

I would agree that it is not a major setback. It is a credibility hit. This guy does not need to me the PR guy.

I think it is best to explain what happened and go on. No other comment needed.

She said it's not through DNA either. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up..It will be coming up shortly regarding Brianna.

“It’s really not that big of deal,” McDonald said of the new information about the underwear.

“We still have a forensic connection by DNA to Brianna and the two previous attacks, the abduction scene and the scene where Brianna was found,” he told The Associated Press. “We are still certain he left the underwear. We are 100 percent convinced the offender left the underwear there.”

A hit to their credibility is quite an understatement, imo.

This was a huge error and trying to downplay it only makes it worse. Yes, they do need to explain what happened and how LE screwed up so royally. Even if the lab was at fault, they shoulder the responsibility. The worst thing RPD can do right now is to mislead the public in any way and allow errors such as this one to happen in the first place.

It does make me question the DNA already collected and how accurate their findings are. This would be any defense Attorney's dream (if the perp is ever caught). So do I think it is "no big deal"?! Giving a defense team something like that before catching the perp is always a big deal!

Now...how can they be so sure he left them at the scene? Without DNA, unless they were actually ON her...I don't see it. So does this tell us the thong may have been used to strangle her after all?!

Just said a man is under arrest, but is he her killer? Went to a commercial...

Thanks, WindChime!!

From Greta,

This man is not the suspect as far as LE knows.

They are waiting for DNA however taken from 🤬🤬🤬 on an attempted kidnapping of a young 20 yr old victim in Reno, Sat 3/1.

Just missed it. Anything other than the DNA mixup?

I agree that LE bears the responsibility to explain what happened in the DNA misreporting.

This makes more sense. The thong did not fit too well in the puzzle.
