A prominent social media influencer, with a Tik Tok following of 1.1 Million users has been arrested in Brisbane.

The woman was arrested at an address in Underwood on January 16, 2024 by detectives from the Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit in Queensland, Australia.

She has been charged with five counts of administering poison with intent to harm, three counts of preparation to commit crimes with dangerous things, and one count each of torture, making child exploitation material and fraud. These charges relate to an infant girl who was known to the woman.

She remains in custody and police have objected to her bail.

The little girl and her siblings are "safe", DCI Dalton from the Queensland Police said, but did not reveal who was caring for them.

"The child's going well," he said.

'No words': Queensland TikTok influencer allegedly poisoned little girl to boost followers, raise money

Hope the little one is ok, poor poppet just one year old. Dad is stepping up, hope he has some good support around him to help them all. Thank goodness she was found out.
She seems to be doing ok? I still don’t 100% feel confident that the dad had zero involvement. I’m waiting for more information to come out.
I know that the police have said they don’t have enough evidence to charge anyone else, but the dad was a stay at home dad at the time when these incidents allegedly occurred.

And he had his children taken from him, and I don’t think he has them back.

It all seems very complicated, imo.

NO evidence to charge anyone else, despite several months of investigation.
I will defer to the QPOL press conference <which I watched live> The Queensland influencer was arrested at Logan, south of Brisbane, on Thursday.

as documented by the “Poisoned?” Podcast dedicated to this case:

The first question from a reporter was “is there anyone else being investigated in this case?”

The police rep answers:
“No, the investigation now has been conducted and we are satisfied that the offender we have arrested and charged today is the one responsible for the offence.”

And the follow up question from that same reporter, “so the father had no involvement at all?”

“As I said before, we've investigated a lot of people in relation to this. The only evidence that we can establish to the satisfaction of the court is the lady we charged.”

Is it weird to say I’m awfully worried about this one year old girls quality of life for the next 60 or 70 years?

Let’s say the reports are right and she’s had two exploratory brain surgeries within one week. As a one year old infant.

What is her life going to look like?

I’m just horrified. I truly am.

This is ridiculous in my opinion, The father was there in the home. He knew what was happening! This is incredibly sloppy police work, in my opinion!

Maybe they’ve received advice from the DPP and have gone down the route of charging one parent.

I feel like if dad doesn’t get custody back of his children, it will be a case of he’s not safe enough to parent but we don’t have enough to charge him, in terms of having a reasonable chance of conviction.
All imo

Have they said what she used as poison??

What's meant by "exploratory brain surgery"? How is exploratory used in this context? <IDK>
Vis a vis “poison”: The detective inspector said he “couldn’t pronounce it.”

I think it was some type of benzodiazepine. But I am not sure which type.

Pretty much everyone who’s commented online that knows the family have said it’s Valium.

The dad’s statement is attached below.

Bail has been granted, only allowed to speak to her children by FaceTime/ video, hopefully supervised.
She will still get visitation in person with two of her young children. She’s been ordered to stay 100 metres away from the alleged victim (1 year old infant) who is her youngest child, but she will be able to have some contact with that child via FaceTime supervised by a CPS worker.

“Among the medications allegedly administered was carbamazepine, which the child's medical team had originally prescribed but had stopped using due to concerns it was inducing seizures.

However, it's alleged the mother held onto the prescription and was able to obtain and administer it over a two-and-a-half-month period between August and October last year.

Magistrate Stephen Courtney told the court that during this time the girl continued to suffer from seizures, as well as unexplained losses of consciousness and a cardiac arrest.”

Queensland influencer accused of poisoning baby faces 'complex' case

Queensland Police allege a 34-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, gave her one-year-old child unauthorised prescription and pharmacy medications between August and October 2024 to grow her social media profile and gain $60,000 in donations.

The woman, who is on bail, was not required to appear today in Brisbane Magistrates Court when her charges were briefly mentioned.

Her solicitor, Matthew Cuskelly, appeared by phone and told magistrate Anthony Gett he was seeking a further adjournment.

"We continue to review the brief (of evidence) ... I have recruited an assistant with a medical background who is reviewing quite a voluminous amount of medical documentation," Cuskelly.
"It is quite a large and complex brief."

The woman was released on bail 11 days after her arrest on January 17.

Gett today adjourned the matter until a further mention on August 1.”
