British Bella May Culley 18, Pattaya Thailand 10th May

This is going to be a charge of supplying its very different.

She will get at least 4 years inside IMO probably more with the case getting media attention (they’ll want it as a deterrent)

PS - it’s a good job this isn’t a missing persons case in reality as she’d never be found - I’ve never seen somebody look so different in their real life photos compared to their filtered ones.
I am hoping for a much longer sentence.

I guess she will be exchanged for some Georgian prisoner serving time in the UK.

To serve her sentence in British prison.
To be close to family, considering her age, barely 18.

JMO

I very much hope not for a few years. She was old enough to know what she was doing and looking at her tick tock was not a naive young girl coerced by someone.
She took the risk and should take the consequences. Had she not been caught she would have done it again .

Absolutely!

But I bet the lawyers are very busy behind the scenes.

Besides,
I doubt Georgian authorities want all this drama with a teenager, possibly pregnant,
and British tabloids watching like hawks.

But it is Only My Opinion!!!!!

I very much hope the British authorities will use her as a warning to other people about the consequences of drug smuggling.

This will be Georgia in the Caucasus - formerly part of the USSR.

No, it's very unlikely that she was coerced though she is almost certain to claim she was. She will have been "groomed" online and promised a free holiday to SE Asia. Being young and stupid, she won't have stopped to wonder what the catch was until her handler met her in Bangkok to hand over the drugs. Maybe at that stage a case could be made for coercion in the sense that she would have found it almost impossible to refuse, but I go back to the point about why she might have thought that this really was a no-strings-attached free holiday. It's not as though similar cases aren't in the UK news quite regularly.

She will also have been very aware of the case of Lindsay Sandiford, a middle aged woman from Redcar (about 10 miles from Billingham) who has been on death row in Indonesia for around 10 years for drug smuggling.

EXACTLY

Former-Soviet Georgia is not a good place to be arrested for drug smuggling. WOW. Perhaps she is lucky it wasn't cocaine, meth, or heroin in the bags.

The entire story about her trip to the Philippines and then to Thailand is sounding hinky.

I'm offended by the skimpy outlet she appears to have been wearing when she was arrested.

So am I - at least 20 years and to serve all of it in Georgia.

The problem we have is that these young women (who statistically are the ones drawn into this activity) often see those who have been caught before them serving a few years and then being released. This happened with the Peru Two, who eventually served less than three years. One of them has since graduated from university and written a book about her experience, but it seems to me that they both got off ridiculously lightly for attempting to smuggle 12kg (26lb) of cocaine.

We could really do with those who are caught being given draconian sentences and serving them abroad, ie without prisoner transfer back to the UK, - sentences which mean that if they are ever released they are at least middle aged or even elderly. In practice, 50 year sentences might have absolutely no effect on many of those tempted to take the risk, but if even half are deterred they will serve a purpose.

There's a comment from her parents in the DM article about her meeting up with some boys she knew before.

As if she had been associated with possible drug smugglers before this incident in Thailand.

Family sob stories .
Granddad: "She's got sucked into something, somehow. She's not an international drug trafficker." She got sucked into something: social media clicks and greed. She took drugs from one nation to another nation for profit, so she is indeed an international drug trafficker.

Granddad clearly has not seen the Tiktok stuff.

This is one bizarre case..usually with foreign missing persons it just double complicates due to distance and dealing with red tape etc. I cannot remember a missing persons case they are found safe 4000 miles from the reported missing spot toting narcotics. The tic toc influencer generation is getting way out of control....

This one is even more unrecognisable... another recent story of a British woman who allegedly smuggled drugs

I hope they don't go soft on Bella. I really think some people think because they are from certain countries that they'll be able to wriggle out of doing time for these crimes.
