Brittany Murphy bought the house she died at from Britney Spears in 2003.

I sure hope he did not go from zero to millionaire. especially not in 2.5 years; most of her money was made before him being in her life.

Alot of liver related issues will make you feel like you have the worst flu ever. My husband thought he had the flu then docs misdiagnosed him as having gallbladder problems. He was actually suffering from an adverse drug reaction to acetaminophen and the docs sent him home with hydrocodone apap. The hydrocodone apap the docs sent him home with was putting a gun to his head and killed him.

IMO, Brittany's flu could have been a liver issue and the docs could have misdiagnosed her and sent her on home with meds.

this neighbor who saw her on the gurney says Brittany looked "totally yellow"...it's at the end of the video they have posted...why yellow? Do people turn yellow after death? I've never heard yellow...or maybe it was her poor health...?

I saw that one early on...I could barely understand this neighbor.

I wish these beautiful young women would know a con man when they meet one.
But with all the staff they have handlers etc... Isn't there someone in their staff that can weed out the riff raff...???
She is not the only actress who has fallen pray to a con man.

frankly I didn't ID mine either because I was a kid. but my Mom hated him on day one - wish I had listened. LOL
that is why they are called con men and they do not go after beautiful mature ladies, just young naive once.

Interestingly, vomiting might be a sign that a person is about to have cardiac arrest. Maybe she wasn't vomiting because she had the flu, but instead she was vomiting because she was about to have cardiac arrest?

O/T: SuziQ, I am so sorry your husband died as a result of what a doctor did. My husband had a massive heart attack on a Sunday afternoon just before he was to see a cardiac surgeon the following Thursday. His heart doctor had told his nurse to schedule the appointment and I had to remind her after a few days that she did not have the appointment set yet. The doctor had told her to set one for as soon as possible. That was on a Friday when I called her and he died on Sunday afternoon. He had 2 stints already. What I did do after a few weeks was call the doctor and tell him of my husband's death and scheduling the appointment having been forgotten about for a few days.
He apologized profusely but it did not help. I just wanted him to know my husband was dead. Certainly not the same thing you went through, but still maybe something that could have been prevented had the doctor hospitalized my husband. He was having discomfort and some irregular chest pains at the doctors office.

As for Brittany; I really liked her. She was so cute in that movie with Ashton Kutcher (sp.). So young and beautiful. It is such a shame. May she rest in peace.

Regarding the vomiting....my cousin passed away from cardiac arrest when she was 40. I assume hers was a heart attack as she didn't do drugs and wasn't anorexic. When she was found, it was apparent that she had been sick and vomiting.

This is so sad.

I do not trust her husband. I hope her Mom does what she can to make sure he doesn't get everything Brittany worked for.

I have read/heard that often times, women don't have 'typical symptoms' of heart problems (chest pains, etc...) but even after reading/hearing it, I would have not associated vomiting, nausea or dizziness with cardiac arrest.

Forgive me if someone else already answered this.A yellowish discoloration of the skin indicates a high bilirubin level, which is indicative of a liver problem. A liver problem can occur with toxicity from drugs, from blockage in the biliary system of the liver, or due to the liver being affected by a illness or injury. Without additional information it is hard to say. If what the neighbor saw was true then,as an RN, it is my opinion that her skin did not just turn yellow after her cardiac arrest. Bilirubin has to travel through the bloodstream and once a person is dead there is no longer any circulation to carry the abnormally high bilirubin level throughout the body. It is not something that occurs overnight unless it is due to a blocked bile duct, as can happen in the case of a gallstone that gets lodged in the bile duct.

Most often the bilirubin level rises over a period of time due to some type of toxicity to the liver. One common drug in almost everyone's medicine chest is Tylenol yet it can be extremely toxic to the liver. Any abuse of drugs can also cause a high bilirubin, especially if the drug abused contains tylenol, such as Vicodin. So, it is hard to say, but I venture that if she really had such a yellowish tint to her skin it had been that way for at least a couple of days. Hope this answers what you were asking. This is so tragic - I feel so badly for her mother and family, and her husband. RIP Brittany Murphy.

Gallbladder problems actually tend to be a familial trait, so if your mother had a gallbladder problem in her late 30s chances are you will too. My husband, who was and still is, a lean healthy man, had to have emergency surgery to have his gallbladder removed at the age of 30. A gallstone became lodged in the common bile duct, and he became jaundiced ( the medical term for the yellow skin tone from a high bilirubin level) in a very short time. It is not impossible, or even improbable that Brittany could have died from a gallbladder emergency, especially if she passed off the nausea and vomiting as symptoms of the flu. That is not to say that I believe for certain that is what happened - just speculating that it is not out of the realm of possibility that this could have been a contributing factor in her death. It will be interesting to see what the autopsy shows. But, an emergency gallbladder problem ( a gallstone lodged) would fall under the category of "died from natural causes." JMHO based upon my experiences as an RN.

JJ is correct, we don't have an explanation but, yellow skin is always defined as jaundice. Usually we hear this term most commonly with newborns. It can happen to adults as well. It certainly gives the coroner an exact area to start with. He needs to look at her liver first and foremost.

Okay, I hate to keep playing the diabetic card. But as a diabetic, I have my liver tested every 3 months (via blood test). Every 6 months I get an ultrasound of my liver and kidneys. This due to the meds I'm on. In my case I have a fatty liver, and I have to keep a close eye on it.

I would just be amazed that a layperson like me (with no huge amount of money to throw around) is getting tested. You would think that Brittany would be under good doctors care. When acting, the film companies would require physicals -- right? They would require her to be in good health or they wouldn't insure her. Right?

Looking back at the Michael Jackson (who was 50). He even had to pass a medical exam that was required earlier this year in order for promoter AEG Live to obtain the proper insurance from Lloyd's of London for Jackson's 50-show engagement at O2 Arena, which was supposed to kick off in July.

This is all too confusing to me, as MJ was obviously on that Propofol stuff and passed an exam -- so who the heck knows anymore.

True. I have had more surgeries to count, unfortunately. And if you have a stone stuck, it's like dying - really. You don't just vomit like the normal vomit -- you vomit bile (sorry TMI). That's when I knew I was in big trouble. It's not just naseua - it's like you're about to give birth to a 20 pound baby and are in the last stages of labor. Both me and my SIL had our GB's out about the same time and had the same symptoms. Again, I can't imagine Brittany wouldn't be rushed to the hospital asap if it were her gallbladder.

Dieting also causes gallstones big time! That's why they usually remove it during weight loss surgery. So it could be an attribute with Brittany - or a plethora of other things

I see dead people all the time in my work, people that have just passed away. Their skin tone, almost immediately after death, is yellow. Without the blood circulating, the skin loses it's normal coloring very, very quickly. People with olive complexions appear even "more" yellowish because of their skin pigment.

Anyhow . . . dammit, I just loved her in Clueless and Girl, Interrupted. What a terrible loss for her family and friends, an us who were so entertained and charmed by her characters

She looked normal, maybe even a little chubby in clueless, and recently she looked very thin.
I wonder if she was dieting on top of these possible medical conditions, or if weight loss was caused by a medical condition. Type 2 diabetes (which is what tmz says she had) doesn't lead to weight loss as far as I know.
If she had any heart condition since she was a little girl, one would think she would be under treatment/observation for it.

BBM - boy I wish it did, I'd be a happy camper. Instead I have to work twice as hard to lose an ounce, and can gain 5 pounds in a week. If she had type 2, she would probably have to work really hard to keep the weight down (depending on what/if any meds she was on). I remember my mom - I could hardly get her to eat. The diabetes finally took away her appetite.

Maybe Brittany was too far gone and we just didn't know about it.
