Interesting! Ya know, I'm really starting to wonder (in my mind) if it was the Topamax that caused her to lose weight. According to this article the weight loss had only been within the last 6 months. I have lost like 50 lbs from Topamax. IMO with the 2 mood stabalizers, 2 anxiety meds and an anti-depressant she had on her night stand- if they were in her name- I'd say she could very well have been being treated for Bipolar.. which when left untreated can cause many of the behavior issues people have pointed out when speaking of her.

Who knows though because it's obvious she had some pretty major issues...

Exactly! That's the ONLY reason I KNOW to put them in a shower...if it was my Grandma or Mother or Daughter...and I knew it couldn't be a drug overdose..I'd lay them on a bed or floor and call 911...!!

I found my Husband dead :(...long story, wrong forum ;)...but I DIDN'T put him in a shower!

SO...I surmise...he suspected a drug overdose...and THAT'S why he put her in the shower.

 I'm so sorry for your loss!

TMZ under scrutiny
Associated Press /

Coroner’s officials are looking into how the celebrity website TMZ obtained details on prescription drugs contained in an investigator’s report on the death of Brittany Murphy. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said yesterday he is concerned that other aspects of the investigation could be leaked. Murphy, 32, died Sunday after collapsing at her Hollywood Hills home. Police and the coroner’s office are investigating, but detectives have said their initial inquiry found no evidence of wrongdoing. TMZ’s report stated the investigator noted numerous bottles of prescription medications were found in Murphy’s name at the home where she collapsed. The medications ranged from depression and anti-anxiety meds to painkillers.

Fox...

Fox411.com can exclusively report that investigators are focusing on Murphy's drug use, and that the working theory of her cause of death is accidental overdose, according to the law enforcement source.

Investigators are waiting to see what combination of drugs was in her system, and if other non-prescription drugs are revealed in the toxicity report, the source says.

Heroin and cocaine are among the drugs being tested for because of reports of Murphy's alleged past abuse of both, the source adds.

The Los Angeles County Coroner did not respond immediately for a request for comment.
"We are looking into possible discipline for whoever leaked information from her autopsy report," he told Fox News. "I cannot confirm the list of prescription drugs on TMZ.com's website, but I can tell you that they do have a partial report, and that's a problem, because the notes for this report were on a secure hold."

I know someone very well who takes Topamax for Bipolar. She has a very very hard time keeping on any weight (probably weights between 90-100 lbs). Bipolar is hard to deal with on its own, then factoring in illness and an inability to put on weight puts one in a bad predicament. I can see all these meds, psychological issues, an infection, and an extremely low body weights as a recipe for what happened to Brittany. I hope it never happens to the person I know who is near and dear.

Brittany's Dad not invited to funeral...

Brittany Murphy’s father, Angelo Bertolotti is not invited to her funeral, he tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

As RadarOnline.com reported exclusively, the funeral will be held the day of Christmas Eve.

Bertolotti had been estranged from Brittany and her mother for the past eight years.

His sadness at his daughter’s death prevented Angelo from wanting to attend a funeral even if he was invited. “I just don’t want to see that happen, I just want to remember her alive,” he told RadarOnline.com

He did say, however, that he will visit her grave. “I’ll wait about a month to go out there,” he said.

Some interesting info about BM's visit to Puerto Rico published in Primera Hora today (one of the principal newspapers in Puerto Rico). Apparently her acting was "vague and incoherent" during the few takes she made for the movie "The Caller", which is being shot in Puerto Rico. The article is in Spanish but you can translate it to English in the following link:

I take Topomax for Migraines, and also a beta blocker (similar to the one Brittany was taking) for a heart condtion called Mitral Valve Prolaspe. The beta blocker significantly slows my heart rate down so that it beats more regularly and so that my heart muscle isn't working on overload. MVP is rarely fatal and most people live a normal life inspite of having it. I've read that Brittany had been diagnosed with a heart condition, but has it been disclosed as to what the condition/diagnoses was? I was also told to steer clear of ANY caffiene, including chocolate. Anti-histamines and decongestants are also off limits for me per my cardiologist. Just from personal experience - If I don't take the beta blocker twice daily I can forget about getting out of bed in the morning - I can barely function my heart beats so erratic, I feel sick and have syncope spells and my head throbs. If she was taking a beta blocker along with anti-anxiety meds ALONG WITH pain meds - well that could be a recipe for a disaster by itself. Don't ALL of these drugs slow the heart rate? Add to the fact that she was experiencing some type of flu symptoms and prolly had decreased lung function due to some sort of respiratory llness. I guess we will have to wait for the toxicology and tissue results to find the cause of death - but it's sounding more and more like drugs (legally perscribed or not) had something to do with her death. Poor girl. There's just so much speculation out there. Death of a loved one is tough on anyone. I can't imagine what her friends and family must be feeling. RIP Brittany.

In one of the many links posted here, I read that she had mitral valve prolapse also. But I don't believe she was taking anything for it (in what I have read).

Doctor: Brittany Murphy’s Death Similar To Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger & Michael Jackson

<<<SNIP>>>
I believe that Brittany Murphy’s death will prove to be essentially the same as the deaths of Anna Nicole Smith, her son Daniel Smith, Michael Jackson and Heath Ledger,” Dr. Cyril Wecht told Access Hollywood in an interview on Tuesday.

Thanks Shamrock. I wonder if the Inderal was in her name and if so, why was it perscribed to her? Just such a shame this happened. What a sad, sad time Christmas will always be for her family and loved ones.

That was a beautiful photo of her on radaronline, but the one taken Dec. 3 of this year - she doesn't look well. She looks like she is ailing in that photo. I wonder if she had been sick since then?

RIP Brittany.

Inderal can be prescribed for migraine prevention (however in my experience it does not help with that, and verapimil is a better choice- Inderal is a beta-blocker, verapimil is a calcium-channel blocker- both are supposed to be for high blood pressure, but I think if someone truly has high blood pressure these meds are not effective enough to be prescribed as a first line treatment.....most likely for Brittany, the Inderal (if hers) would be for migraines or heart palpitations- it's also used for mitral valve prolapse symptoms and also benign chest pain (angina). basically, Inderal is used to relieve mild heart related symptoms by causing the heart not to have to use as much force or work as hard to pump blood. This is why it's also prescribed for panic attacks to stop the racing heart---and also, for people who have anxiety in certain situations. My doctor prescibes it for people who have anxiety during public speaking. It doesn't really help the anxiety but it stops the heart from racing, enabling a person with stagefright to better control it.

That is why I wondered if Brittany ever suffered from stagefright, or just complained of heart palpitations, or experienced migraines etc. I don't make too much of the meds she was on- my doctor is awesome, and prescribes meds off label all the time- she is NOT a doctor feelgood, she is a doctor who can treat your problems. It is possible Brittany Murphy had various issues that her doctor was legitmiately treating with these meds. I really hope it does not come out to be a drug related death stemming from abuse or bad interactions.

On another note, I forget where I heard it but either tv or radio had someone saying Brittany was 5'5 and weighed 115 pounds at her death. Wow, that is a NORMAL weight, and I can't believe how frail she looked, that's a healthy weight for that height, if toward the low end....it's not shocking...for someone closer to 6 feet tall it would be seriously underweight. I really thought she must have weighed barely over 100 pounds to look at her. She was very very thin.

Her death is really sad, especially at holiday time....I always thought she was adorable- beautiful and with an amazing voice and a sweet sweet personality. She was beautiful just the way she was- over the years, she sure didn't need to lose weight, blonde her hair, try to fit a mold...she was gorgeous as-is. :(

I don't recall reading about Inderal. What is it and what is it prescribed for?
