A 57-year-old San Bernardino County woman, Margaret Minier, has been arrested after authorities discovered the remains of her landlord, 72-year-old Mindy, on a Phelan property she owned and rented to Minier. Mindy, reported missing on Sept. 2 after last being seen in Tustin, became the focus of a homicide investigation when detectives learned her final known whereabouts were in Phelan. A search of the residence on the 6400 block of Smoke Tree Lane led investigators to the remains, resulting in Minier’s arrest for murder. Officials have not disclosed how Mindy was killed, where exactly her remains were located, or a possible motive, and are urging anyone with information to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department or leave an anonymous tip with WeTip.

How sad :( regrettable that the victim's last name is one that set off the auto censor.

Minier was yet to be booked into jail as she was hospitalized due to an unrelated health issue, sheriff's department spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said.

Details regarding bail and an initial court appearance were not yet available.
