I can’t tell from the 911 transcript posted if the kids were locked in their respective rooms and the husband was locked in a separate room? If the husband suspected there was an intruder in his house, why would he lock himself in a room alone and how would he inform his kids they needed to lock their doors in the middle of the night? Wouldn’t it make more sense for him to grab both of them and lock them all together if he suspected an intruder? Why would he leave them alone in their rooms, that just makes no sense to me.
Do we know the layout/floorplan of the home? My husband and i were talking about this today and we have had split plans in our last two homes. Our daughters were on the other side of the house from us. They are grown and flown now but it really got us talking about what we would do in this situation.

I'm wondering how the kids were locked in their bedrooms if they were asleep?

Yes this is my biggest question - if it’s the middle of the night and everyone is asleep in their bedrooms (even if the husband and wife sleep in separate rooms for whatever various reasons), how could the kids get locked in their rooms if they were asleep? I mean, I have a theory but I don’t think I’m allowed to share it yet…

Finding too many mixed reports
Does anyone know:
Was she found in bed? Then the theory she was the only one to get up to investigate a noise does not work.
Was it very foggy that night? Meaning cameras would not pick up things.
Were the children each locked in their bedrooms and the husband locked alone in his?
It was so foggy that schools were on a two hour delay Monday.

Update from the Police Chief - 3 hours ago

IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM TIPP CITY POLICE CHEIF GREG ADKINS:

The Tipp City Police Department has recently been made aware—through several media outlets and information phone calls—of claims that a suspect is in custody and has confessed in the homicide investigation involving Ashley Flynn. This information is false and was never released by the Tipp City Police Department, the City of Tipp City, or any collaborating law enforcement partners.

The release and spread of unverified information is not only untrue, but also deeply detrimental to the Flynn family and unfair to those involved in this investigation. Our community continues to grieve, and the department recognizes the fear and concern some residents may be experiencing.

We ask for the community’s patience as investigators continue to work through this complex and difficult case. As seen in many national investigations, homicide cases require time, careful evidence collection, and thorough analysis. This process is not immediate. The community deserves a complete and accurate investigation, and the family deserves a full and careful review of all available evidence.

The Flynn family is coping with an unimaginable loss, and the department will not try this case in the media. This matter will be resolved through the judicial process and adjudicated in a court of law.

As previously stated, investigators believe this was an isolated incident targeted at this specific residence. At this time, there is no information indicating that the community or the general public is in danger.

The investigation will continue until all possible answers can be provided to the family and the community. Information will be released as soon as possible should an arrest be made. Until that time, the department will continue to share information when appropriate and when it does not jeopardize the integrity of the investigation.

I remain confident in the men and women of this department, their professionalism, their investigative skills, and the collaborative law enforcement team assisting in this investigation.

Locked in their bedrooms... I can only think of a few ways that happens, imo. Don't most bedroom doors lock from the inside?

1) they lock themselves in every night. Terrible idea imo in case of emergency, illness, fire, etc. Also raises questions as to why.
2) the knobs were reversed or external locks were added so they could be locked in. Again, raises questions unrelated to this event imo.
3) someone opened the doors, turned the locks, and closed the doors. When was there time for that during the event? Would someone really go do that with the intruder still at large and leave the kids there separately instead of being with them?
4) the kids woke up and locked themselves in instead of running to mom and dad or each other. Possible, but how was that known to have happened by the caller if said caller was in another room?

I read it as the RP (I’m assuming husband) and juvenile daughters are locked in a bedroom. Then there’s a correction the daughters are in their own rooms asleep. The locked bedroom appears to have the RP in it, not the daughters.

It sounds like in that moment info is being relayed , the daughters have no idea what’s happened or have been awakened. IMO

LISTEN - Caleb Flynn & Ashley Flynn 911 dispatch audio

"Gonna be in Cunningham Court.

"Someone broke into the RP's [reporting party's] house.

"Unknown if they're still there. Garage door is open.

"RP & juvenille daughter are locked in a bedroom.

"Just a correction: The juvenilles are gonna be in their own rooms asleep currently.

"There was apparently a female shot in the head. Is not responding currently."

For those just catching up:

Ashley Flynn, 37, shot twice, reportedly while in bed.
Husband and both children in home not physically injured -
All were reportedly locked in their respective bedrooms.
It is not clear why the Husband was "locked" in a seperate bedroom.

I find this entire story very hard to believe.

I read that the neighbors houses have cameras but do we know if Ashley’s did?

Crime of passion by obsessed former student of AF?
Crime of passion by husband stalker after TV appearance?
~Moo~
I don't do social media anymore for my mental health (just WS lol) so I'm not privy to any tea being spilled over there.

I believe the family are members of the Christian Life Center Church in Dayton. Ashley’s husband (CF) is a worship leader there. They’re having a Celebration of Life service for Ashley on Sunday at 4pm.

Thanks for back-up---I posted wrong church due to missing the state --one posted in PA--my bad.

Nothing in the 911 transcript says the children were locked in their bedrooms!

The RP (reporting party, presumably CF) first says he was locked in a bedroom with a daughter (no mention of the other child).

Then that's "corrected" to say that the juveniles are asleep in their rooms - no mention of those rooms being locked - and the RP is locked in a bedroom. And finally he shares that an adult woman has been shot in the head and is not responding.

My questions:
Why first report the open garage door and signs of forced entry, rather than AF being shot and unresponsive? Either CF did not know that AF had been shot, or CF wanted to set the stage for the appearance of a break-in IMHO.

If he did not know she'd been shot until during the 911 call, how did he discover her during the call if he was locked in a bedroom? Either he's locked in the bedroom with her, which means he was there when she was shot, or he's locked in a separate bedroom and knows she's been shot before he calls 911. Why is that not the first thing he tells the dispatcher? Is that not more important than "I think someone broke in - the garage door is open"?

Finally, why would the RP initially say he is locked in a bedroom with his daughter if he actually wasn't? I think I know the answer to this one as well but I have to go sit on my hands now.

So many questions

All MOO IMHO and all the things.

Wouldn't their dogs have alerted the entire family as the burglar was breaking in ?
Unless they were the type that are silent and don't get excited, but like to sleep instead.

Feb. 19—Tipp City police said
there is no indication the community is in danger following the deadly shooting of Ashley Flynn during an apparent burglary earlier this week.

Rbm.
Hmmm.

A burglar breaks in and kills someone and the community is in no danger ?
I'd be freaking the heck out if I lived there.

The FBI is joining state authorities to investigate the murder of an Ohio mother and teacher, police confirmed.

Tipp City Chief of Police Greg Adkins confirmed to Fox News Digital that the FBI and local police, including the Miami County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, are assisting in the homicide investigation of 27-year-old Ashley Flynn.
Neighbors said the Flynns and their two elementary-age daughters are often seen outside
with the family’s two Goldendoodles.
Rbm.
So, the dogs didn't alert ?

Even if it was a deranged stalker of Ashley's or even a crazed fan (it happens, unfortunately) Caleb's from his time in the American Idol audition, one would think they'd have woken the family up with their yapping at a stranger.

Unless it was a family friend who'd been there before. and therefore someone they trusted. Ugh.
Police seem to think it was someone known to them or else they wouldn't tell the neighborhood that they're not in danger.
Imo.

This article is paywalled, but also mentions the dogs ?

Some great points brought up, @marloweclover !

The article I'd linked said when the police arrived at the house, they were met by the dad and kids ?

According to police, the 37-year-old was found dead following a reported burglary at her home. When officers arrived,
they were met with Flynn's husband and two children inside the residence. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police immediately secured the home and surrounding area. Family members were notified and responded to assist with the care of the children and Flynn’s husband.

Rbm.
The kids were awake and at the door with their dad, then ?

Cannot find any mention of who has the dogs....
Maybe they were kenneled at night in the garage ?

But if they were, wasn't a garage door opened from the forced entry-- and wouldn't the dogs have heard and started barking ?
Still many questions.
Omo.

Would like to know when Ashley was last seen outside of the family ?
Texted , emailed, or spoke on the phone to anyone.
IF this was personal, were there any signs of impending implosions within or without.
Any past exes or flames ?
Etc.
Imo.

This page states the house has three bedrooms. Was Ashley locked out of the marital bedroom? Why?
hello, just joining and getting caught up. Can I ask, where is the info that the children were locked in their bedroom(s) coming from and do we know the ages of the children? Because I agree with others who are confused by the idea of the kids being locked in their room(s) and husband being locked in what I presume is the master.

ETA I see, found the answer myself. Children not locked in their bedrooms. RP reported they were asleep. RP (husband) locked himself into his/their bedroom to contact LE.

“RP and juvenile daughter are locked in a bedroom,” the dispatcher tells authorities. “Just a correction - the juveniles are going to be in their own rooms asleep currently.”
