I can’t tell from the 911 transcript posted if the kids were locked in their respective rooms and the husband was locked in a separate room? If the husband suspected there was an intruder in his house, why would he lock himself in a room alone and how would he inform his kids they needed to lock their doors in the middle of the night? Wouldn’t it make more sense for him to grab both of them and lock them all together if he suspected an intruder? Why would he leave them alone in their rooms, that just makes no sense to me.
Do we know the layout/floorplan of the home? My husband and i were talking about this today and we have had split plans in our last two homes. Our daughters were on the other side of the house from us. They are grown and flown now but it really got us talking about what we would do in this situation.

I'm wondering how the kids were locked in their bedrooms if they were asleep?

Yes this is my biggest question - if it’s the middle of the night and everyone is asleep in their bedrooms (even if the husband and wife sleep in separate rooms for whatever various reasons), how could the kids get locked in their rooms if they were asleep? I mean, I have a theory but I don’t think I’m allowed to share it yet…

Finding too many mixed reports
Does anyone know:
Was she found in bed? Then the theory she was the only one to get up to investigate a noise does not work.
Was it very foggy that night? Meaning cameras would not pick up things.
Were the children each locked in their bedrooms and the husband locked alone in his?
It was so foggy that schools were on a two hour delay Monday.

Update from the Police Chief - 3 hours ago

IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM TIPP CITY POLICE CHEIF GREG ADKINS:

The Tipp City Police Department has recently been made aware—through several media outlets and information phone calls—of claims that a suspect is in custody and has confessed in the homicide investigation involving Ashley Flynn. This information is false and was never released by the Tipp City Police Department, the City of Tipp City, or any collaborating law enforcement partners.

The release and spread of unverified information is not only untrue, but also deeply detrimental to the Flynn family and unfair to those involved in this investigation. Our community continues to grieve, and the department recognizes the fear and concern some residents may be experiencing.

We ask for the community’s patience as investigators continue to work through this complex and difficult case. As seen in many national investigations, homicide cases require time, careful evidence collection, and thorough analysis. This process is not immediate. The community deserves a complete and accurate investigation, and the family deserves a full and careful review of all available evidence.

The Flynn family is coping with an unimaginable loss, and the department will not try this case in the media. This matter will be resolved through the judicial process and adjudicated in a court of law.

As previously stated, investigators believe this was an isolated incident targeted at this specific residence. At this time, there is no information indicating that the community or the general public is in danger.

The investigation will continue until all possible answers can be provided to the family and the community. Information will be released as soon as possible should an arrest be made. Until that time, the department will continue to share information when appropriate and when it does not jeopardize the integrity of the investigation.

I remain confident in the men and women of this department, their professionalism, their investigative skills, and the collaborative law enforcement team assisting in this investigation.

Locked in their bedrooms... I can only think of a few ways that happens, imo. Don't most bedroom doors lock from the inside?

1) they lock themselves in every night. Terrible idea imo in case of emergency, illness, fire, etc. Also raises questions as to why.
2) the knobs were reversed or external locks were added so they could be locked in. Again, raises questions unrelated to this event imo.
3) someone opened the doors, turned the locks, and closed the doors. When was there time for that during the event? Would someone really go do that with the intruder still at large and leave the kids there separately instead of being with them?
4) the kids woke up and locked themselves in instead of running to mom and dad or each other. Possible, but how was that known to have happened by the caller if said caller was in another room?
