Which survivor in the Dr Seuss shirts is the one who escaped? Is it #8? I'm so glad she continued on..she no doubt saved her elder sisters life, who seems as if she was very sick.

i really hope LE checks into if they have had more kids and if any of them have died or disappeared.

Re: checking up on more kids. Could be interesting I guess. But minus the timespan between #12 and #13, which I'm still questioning whether 13 is actually a child and not grandchild, there wouldn't be enough time between siblings for any more. They were one right after another.

Recall the story of the Texas neighbour who wouldn't get involved because he knew David had a gun. Another rarely mentioned reason for American gun culture: it effectively keeps people out of your business.
Now I wonder if there are weapons in the safes. They wouldn't leave them where they could be used against them, but I bet they used their existence as leverage with the kids.

The only possible explanation for why the grandparents would deny it is that because of their old age and probably extremely backwards life they themselves had, some child abuse probably was in fact considered "normal" and tolerated back in the "good ole' days." So their knee-jerk reaction is that everyone must somehow be blowing it out of proportion. You know, "Why back in my day, there was nothing wrong with a trip to the woodshed now and then to keep em' in line. And we grew up in lean times and I had to cut back on food a little now and then. And the Good Book says...." blah blah.

Basically, they think that a little of what we now know is abusive was considered normal to a degree in their time, and they think that surely it can't possibly be as bad as what the police are saying.

MAYBE that's it. And isn't he like 80 something years old? Maybe he's senile? Because seriously, I don't see any other explanation.

Also, interesting that they said the DNA testing is so they can confirm the survivors are related. Not so they can confirm the survivors are LT & DT's children but to confirm they are related to one another?

It's probably just a strange way of writing it that the DM decided to use, rather than anything to look in to but it just stood out to me.

I think they might be making sure that DT is the father of all of the children. If she birthed some of them at home there may not be a birth cert for some of them.

[QUOTEI distinctly remember my entire third grade class scoffing at her one day because our teacher had asked her to discard a scrunchy she had used to tie her hair out of a discarded tin foil wrapper from an old Hershey's bar. After that year, Jennifer moved away, and she was forgotten about after we moved on to the the next "cootie kid." ]

After reading this I had to walk away from the computer :( . That teacher should lose her job if she is still working to this day. How on earth so many people saw the squalor, dead animals and state of these children, yet nothing was done? I'm truly heartbroken over this.[/QUOTE]

I am a teacher and I've had to call CPS/DCF multiple times. They don't always feel it's necessary to follow up on reports. I reported a child with a bruise on her cheek in the shape of a man's hand. She was disabled and unable to say what happened, and the case got dropped.

I'd imagine the teacher did call. We are mandated reporters.

Okay - thank you, but I am computer illiterate - over 70 !! :ohwow: could you tell me "where" I can find this Tunnel? Does it go under the Atlantic?

Sorry for the delay, I’ve been at a 4th birthday party all afternoon (and now I need a lie down and a glass of wine...)

I use Tunnel Bear as an iPad app, but it might work via their website too. You need to create an account but you shouldn’t need to pay anything unless you want to be downloading tv shows and movies, you get a basic account for free. You then tell the site which country you want to ‘tunnel’ to and it fools the internet into thinking you are in the US or wherever you’ve requested.

https://www.tunnelbear.com

Does that help?

Just saw another photo w/ LT having bruises on upper arm like she was grabbed hard with force. It's on Daily Mail,
she's dressed like Snow White and has new baby also dressed up. Can anyone find this and post?
:blushing:
Nisey, both DT and LT have public defenders provided by court. This was all explained a while back on here by
our member attorney Gitana1.

I have noticed that type mark on other photos. I am wondering if it could also be a birth mark? My niece has one it's light brown, her mother has one that is dark brown. When niece was small I thought it was dirt and tried to wash it off . Jmho could be wrong

Unless they suspect some of the kids possibly gave birth to children who are not accounted for.

This was my thought. I was also a classroom teacher. There were many reports that we made that were never followed up on or were dropped.

That's a horrifying thought.

I think it will be for a variety of reasons, with intergenerational family dysfunction at the forefront.

I think the patriarchal themes of religion will be also woven into most of their worldview. Women are to be submissive and modest as are children. Men are to be obeyed and deferred to.

I also believe that these are the grandparents that were at Disney with the "parents" a few years ago. They interacted with the survivors . Yet they were apparently not alarmed in the least and saw nothing amiss.

That in and of itself is astounding, as they would have been privy to their ages as well. That tells me a lot about "why" they may be in such unbelievably obtuse denial.
According to the grandfather's statement, they are already discounting the survivor's narratives of horrific chronic abuse. They raised DT. It makes me speculate what may have gone on under their roof and who may or may have not been believed...

I have NO WORDS for it.

I have no words.

Very, very well said. Thank You, Spice. Exactly what I believe also.

I sat in on a family discussion where an adult son tried to tell his complicit mother how he still felt about the horrible
childhood abuse he had endured growing up. All the elderly mother would say was "You're Crazy, you're crazy."
Whenever I see this type strong denial despite information coming from authorities, I have to believe there was some
similar type abuse going on in the family of origin.

I wonder what was left behind at previous addresses and maybe if something worse happened with maybe a baby (babies) between 12 and 13. Maybe it was the current baby's treatment/conditioning that was starting that made the brave one decide that's it had enough and escaped. If any other the girls had given birth themselves and somehow their baby died at a previous address this would enforce the fear to prevent any future escape attempts 'you know what will happen if you do'. Just my HO of course but nothing would surprise me with these monsters. Did the parents live in a part of the house that clean and tidy? I bet they did, with a TV and home comforts, maybe they allowed them time in there as a treat for when they were well behaved.
All these are just my opinion and feelings I get from reading this horror.

Please can someone attach the photo taken in the Perris, CA house of the children on the couch? I cannot find it.

Thank you very much.

Good post Ct, Now I'll ask this community one important question:

Why do you suppose Dt's parents are so in denial and so vehemently disagreeing that this could be true about their son's family?

I have my suspicions but I'll let the rest of you answer to your thoughts. then I'll tell you a true story that relates.

I'm guessing that Grandpa is afraid that the skeletons rattling around in the family closet will come out...about the way he may have raised his children?
Also they all seem to be the "children should be seen and not heard" types..
He wants to give them a good talking to about how family secrets should stay in the family?
He says he had made alllllll these phone calls to try to talk to the children, but LE says noone from the family has called. ..that is EXCELLENT police work! Do not even try to let the "family" anywhere near these survivors! Unless maybe way down the road it is proven that any of them deserve to be graced by the presence of the Survivors!

I have no doubt they wanted a TV show like the Duggars. There are lots of quiverfull families bitterly jealous of the Duggars, I think. If you watch the show at all, you can see them sniffing around the margins.

Remember, Louise was perplexed as to why the police were there. I think in her mind she was a model parent. She is 100% delusional in my opinion. I think I can figure her all out without much trouble. She's cruel, and delusional, and nuttier than a fruitcake.

It's the father I can't figure out. He just looks so mild-mannered and lost. Yet, the lewdness charge tells me there was so much more to it.

What??? Say it ain’t so. 藍

Krispy Kreme rules!

Recall the story of the Texas neighbour who wouldn't get involved because he knew David had a gun. Another rarely mentioned reason for American gun culture: it effectively keeps people out of your business.

Do you have a link to that? I don't remember reading he didn't want to get involved because he knew David had a gun. Guns in Texas are very common.

There is a picture floating around for LT, the baby, and the oldest son at Krispy Kreme. She has noticeable bruises on her arm. IF she was also being abused there is a possibility that miscarriages could have occurred during the gap between the last two children.

I agree it seems that she and DT seem to change in the various picture but the baby doesn’t seem to age.

Where can I find that picture?

Oh when I read about this episode, it brings back memories. Mine was in 2nd grade. Also had a "cootie kid"
but it wasn't me. She was very, very poor, very, very dirty. Visible cooties in her matted hair. My negligent mother warned me to never get near cootie kid in my class. Never, or I would catch whatever.

One day teacher told us to slide all our desks together next to each other so we could watch a slide show. This was
years before movies or videos. I hesitated moving my desk as cootie kid was directly next to me. After a bit teacher
came over to tell me again to move my desk. Not realizing I should not speak out loud, I calmly told teacher, my mother
told me to never get near or touch "her" who was sitting next to me and listening. I was given a seat in back of room. Sadly, I did not know any better. Yes, normal, young child behavior, IMO.

You were only doing what your mother had told you.
