she was always covered and at family gatherings the men & women stayed separate. Which doesn't sound too normal to me for America. Saudi Arabia yes, but not here.

Lordy. Ever been to an Orthodox Jewish service?

<BBM for Focus>

ISIS jihadists are Meth Tweakers..as were the Japanese Kamikaze pilots. They were given methamphetamine so they could fly long hours and not hesitate when using their planes as suicidal weapons..

Yup totes agree with ya there. 👍

The infant was nothing to them -- it was dressing to keep them from standing out imo

Even worse is the possibility that their intention might have been to use their child as a means to transport explosives into a place to kill again in a later hit.

How good was the picture you saw? This alleged photo looks like she has a scar on her right cheek. Just wondering if by chance you saw her face .... on the right side.
Nope. She's face down in her undies, bleeding on the asphalt. Clothes all cut off, with what could appear to be tape across the middle of her back.

I know they're all different...in some way....not my style

A burqa is different from hijab, niqab or abaya. I'm asking because if she were wearing a burqa she for sure would have stood out (wouldn't terrorists try to not draw attention to themselves?) but it would have been easy to hide her identity if she were someone other than who she said she was.

I feel as though this is the first time I've heard of lawyers trying to stand up for deceased mass shooters. Has this happened before and I've missed it? This just seems very odd.

thats actually a very good quwstion!

or most animals even. Humans are biologically wired to focus on the offspring. Right? I know once my twin guys were born, that was it, you're a mama or a papa bear and you would NEVER willingly separate yourself from them and leave them dependent on anyone else. It just isn't human. And THAT is really scary.

It obviously is human, because the killers were human beings. I find abandoning a baby unfathomable, but then very much seems that nowadays.

I know this seems very inhuman, but in reality, sadly, a lot of babies are abandoned or killed (infanticide). It is more common among people who lack the resources to give proper care to a baby. It was extremely common in early human days, especially with the birth of twins. Two babies would consume too much milk, and the mother needs to eat a lot to handle this. Back in older times, and probably still occurring now in impoverished areas, mothers killed one of the twins, or sometimes both, in order to ensure the survival of the rest of the family.

Our western culture is a very child-centric one, where we can't fathom the idea of abandoning a baby, but this is actually the rare change. For thousands of years before (and still in other countries) this is not the norm at all, and children are not treated as well as they are now/here.

?? Basis for this "possibility"?

That's where the brain washing kicks in.the months of Radicalization. Endless sorites going over and over. Hence the shredded paper in the bin imo.
Then they are waiting. Waiting to go do their deed. Maybe they've taken something prior to also feed the adrenaline. They've got that rush. That buzz..... hearts pounding. GO GO GO. That's been indoctrinated into them.
Sad really. 16 lives gone.... 20+ lives will never be the same.... more lives living in fear.

It's so not right. Not right at all.

We need to be over the pc agenda, take our country back and protect our American's that love our country and what we stand for. If you can't do that then you need to go, we don't need you.

Yes, even if your ancestors came over to America on the Mayflower in 1620, if you don't believe the same way 'we' (whoever that group is), then you are not welcome in this country, even if 'we' have been in the US only for 3 generations and 'your' family has been in the US 10+ generations. 'We' can't accept 'you' and 'we' have no tolerance for 'your' ideas.

<my response is sarcasm in case that isn't clear>

What is this? The Keystone Cops? Was it the FBI who decided to let the press walk through a crime scene or the SB sheriff's office? They have no idea what they may need to go back and look for and they are letting people wander through there like a herd of buffalo. Talk about soft targets, the whole US is becoming one.

Where are mom and baby of Farook?

In tonights presser, the police chief was asked about the baby. He said the baby was in foster care right now, while things were sorted out. But he expected that family members would be applying for legal custody. [ I read that the brother and his wife were trying to obtain custody.]

BBM Even though it's in the news every day it's still hard to make sense of it. We have a whole "Crimes: Focus on Children" forum and most of the threads I see are horrific crimes committed by parents.

Using your child as a suicide bomb or abandoning your child because you have some people to kill is just... I don't know. Unfathomable. Have other terrorists/mass shooters left behind children?

Ever been to NYC? Brooklyn? Any large metropolitan city in the US? Orthodox Jews cover their heads, women with scarves or Sheitels, men with Yarmulkes. Further, men and women are separated when they are at the synagogue. That's from the old old testament (i.e. the Torah), not to be confused with the Quran. In addition, some practicing Sikh also cover their heads (they are not Muslims), and Roman Catholic Cardinals have to cover their heads. Mormans have strict rules about separation of males and females as well.
