I found this very informative and interesting when I read it a couple months ago.

Thank you for the link popsicle. The grooming process is disturbingly similar to the tactics used by pedophiles. It's scary because I believe that so many vulnerable youngsters could fall for this, especially young Muslim Americans teens looking for their identity. I am scared!

I kind of think social services may pass on brother in laws offer! I think most of the planet is having credibility issues with being clueless that dad was going to go down in hsitory as the perp of the biggest terrorist attck since 9-11! just mu notion

What I find shocking, though frankly I don't know why, is how absolutely uninformed so many in this country are about the very origins of this country, or even world history in general. A common point of reference is only as long as the individual has been alive, though for some it may only be as long as their last text message. It's like the world only started when they came into it and then that world revolves around them (or should).

Learning about what has happened in decades and centuries and millenia past, and gaining the perspective of the 10,000 ft and 30,000 ft view (i.e. a wider and larger perspective) is enlightening, I've found.

An excellent book to read is: Why I am Not a Muslim by Ibn Warraq. Written by a former Muslim. I borrowed it from my local library, and read it before 9/11. After 9/11, the book disappeared from the library. Too politically incorrect? That was quite an eye-opener. So was the book.

It is still available from Amazon, and I think I am going to read it again.

I may just do the same. I feel like I need to understand what I am feeling about this. This issue is not going away. I don't want to sound conservatively paranoid, I want to form my opinions based on knowledge not fear iykwim.

She had a fiancee visa. Her background check was a fingerprint. It is very easy to get this type of visa. Then marry within 90 days of entry & you are a citizen. There is no such thing as a thorough background check when the country you are from does very little record keeping.

You're not a citizen upon marriage on a K1 visa. After entry on a K1 you marry, and after marriage you start the process to apply for permanent residency. That takes quite a while, I'm talking months. Then they become a permanent resident with conditions. After 2 years you can apply to become a PR without conditions. Then, after you've been a permanent resident (some people still call it having a 'green card') for at least three years (if married, five years if not) you can start the application process for citizenship. All of this takes years and costs thousands of dollars.

Yup Me To....The fans blowing in our church kepted blowing off my tissue so my grandma took a Bobbi pin and stuck it in place. She was furious at me.
