Hundreds of ISIS supporters online in US, study finds.

WASHINGTON (CBSDC)– There are as many as 300 supporters of the Islamic State militant group online in the United States, according to a new study.

George Washington University researchers from the program on extremism found that recruiters are using Twitter to encourage ISIS-supporters to travel to Iraq and Syria, as reported by Pop Herald.

The study found there are hundreds of American supporters who are often active on Twitter and potentially being recruited from the group abroad.

“The individuals range from hardened militants to teenage girls, petty criminals and college students,” Lorenzo Vidino, the director of the university’s program on extremism, said. “A small number of Americans have wholeheartedly embraced their new-found ISIS support system online.”

The Isis group is pulling in some US$80 million (RM339 million) a month, mainly from levies and confiscations, but is struggling financially as strikes hit its oil infrastructure, analysis firm IHS said Monday.

In a new report, IHS Conflict Monitor said that Isis, unlike other jihadist groups such as al-Qaeda, does not need to rely on foreign funding as it can count on revenues from the large parts of Syria and Iraq under its control.

Using open source intelligence including social media and sources inside the countries, IHS said it estimates the group's overall monthly income to be around US$80 million as of late 2015.

Nothing surfaced yet about that. Even the so called 'baby shower' gifting app seemed hap dash at being put together.... purely speculation but it's not rocket science. But pampers cotton swabs and a car seat ... even my hubby could muster up those on a list if asked.... not the kind an expectant mother would like.. especially being a 'first' baby... no excitement, nothing

I think the current administration has a policy of not saying that anything is Islamic terrorist attack. Obama will say that the 911 attack was Taliban, but not Islamic.

Hi Rob I agree. So instead of using the majority of the Oval Office Address about the San Bernardino Terrorist Attack to lecture Americans on how to conduct themselves socially with Islamic/Muslim people,

...he would have been better served to spend his time calling on peaceful Islamic Muslims to come forward and call these terrorists out or to ask for their assistance in telling these murderous radicals that they need to change their name (ISIS = Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) or telling us how they are going to stop ISIS' ultimate goal of "Global domination and the establishment of a worldwide Islamic Caliphate". I truly believe that moderate Muslims are the answer to some of the problems we face with terrorism and this Prez should be talking to and working with them---not lecturing average Americans who are just wanting to know their government has prioritized their safety as the most important job they have.

There are quite a few examples online. Google Lutton England, and they have similar experiences. British people behaving as British people are harassed when they walk through "a Muslim area".

Saw a video from France (old footage, it is likely worse now) where Catholics exiting from Mass were being thrown stones at by Muslims.

Sadly there are many examples, I'd feel much more confident if these were isolated incidents.

These are the types of events that raise the ire of the White Supremacists, and those guys are quite capable of doing the same by getting down to the same level as those they are opposing.

It depends on the individuals. They sound more conservative than "moderate" IMO.

The photo below would represent "Americanized" Muslims to me, in fact it shows Iranian women in Tehran. By law they must wear a hijab (scarf and loose jacket) yet they look quite western. In reality less than 20% of Iranian women wear the Chador even though the MSM makes it seem like they all do.

Man who killed Osama bin Laden says ISIS threat is everywhere, including Colorado

DENVER -- The Navy SEAL who shot and killed Osama bin Laden in 2011 was in Denver on Sunday night and discussed the threat of ISIS in America, including in Colorado.

Rob O’Neill became a household name when he announced to the world he was the man who ended bin Laden’s life.

O’Neill is a Fox News contributor and travels the country discussing his famous moment and the threat of terrorism around the world.

“[ISIS] are here. They want to kill us because we don’t believe what they believe,” O’Neill said. “They’re religious fanatics that think we’re infidels or non-non-believers -- or whatever they want to call us -- because they want to kill us”.

In regards to recent terror attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif., O’Neill believes the United States will experience similar acts in the near future.

“One of the things [ISIS] don’t do is lie. And they tell us every day they want to murder us and not in the most pleasant ways. They need to be stopped because they’re too inspirational,” O’Neill said.
