CA - 2-month old baby found dead in hot car - June 20, 2024

If they have now been charged with manslaughter, was their son removed from their care? How traumatic and awful this must be for their son.

Speculation only: Maybe they were both home for the 9 hours, no babysitter involved?

Interesting that the Daily Mail based out of UK has an article on this case, but nothing in United States.

I couldn't find the court information.

I've wondered all this as well. I'm very upset that the Daily Mail article has a pay wall, as charges of manslaughter are serious and no one seems able to read the article.

Last year I spent months trying to find an update and finally moved on. Now the DA brought charges and I'm trying to find another article. :(

. I know I was frustrated for months when the parents of Orrin and Orson West were not charged. But, it was based on a secret grand jury that finally determined the charges of murder.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Life isn't "Law and Order" where cases are wrapped up in 45 minutes. A baby died. And LEO finally had enough evidence to press charges. Hot car deaths are tricky. There must have been a compelling reason the charges were made. No conspiracy. A dead baby. Why is it surprising that the caregivers were charged with murder? It would be more surprising if they weren't.

Charges take a long time in some cases. In this one, I speculate that since this wasn't the typical case, where the parents truly believe their child is at daycare, and she was alone for 9 hours, authorities decided charges are appropriate.

I believe these two dads loved and wanted their children. But since they have both been charged with baby Diana's death, I have to conclude authorities believe they both knew she was at home and not somewhere else.

How she was left alone for 9 hours, is the question.

I have googled and searched the San Diego Union-Tribune to no avail. I will wait to read this news in a more reputable source than the “Daily Fail.”
